I've had this tent 7 years now and it's still going strong. Used every summer for our annual family camping trip it has served us so well. It's just so roomy and the layout is perfect. I have the extension which we use for cooking so that leaves the 'living room' area free for the sofa and all the other home comforts. The side porch is used to house the toilet and bags so there is no clutter hanging around. Fits three camp beds in the bedrooms without a problem, could probably squeeze a fourth in at a push. If you can find one for sale somewhere. Which might be difficult as they are now discontinued. They make the perfect family tent without being hard to put up.

This is our first modern tent we started with a frame canvas tent forty years ago then progressed to a caravan. Now gone full circle.

We cannot fault this tent. We are both in our late seventies and can put this up easily between us.We used it last August and it stood up to four days of heavy rain and gales without any problems!

We bought the front extention this years from Millets and have just had four nights in it just to try this out. What a difference it made we cooked and lived outside in it leaving the main tent with lots of room. It is a shame that Outwell only occasionally make this model and how glad we are they made it the year we were looking to buy . Long may it last us.

Montana 4E 2015 OK only put up in garden so far but seems sound and lovely and light. Great with a Monta 6 canopy. Integral large side porch on tent makes a massive visual difference to feeling of space / opening roof curve up,and will be very handy for camp kitchen etc. Looks like it will be ideal for the two of us a great balance between size and space. It was the porch that sold it to me, which gave the extra space without a massive footprint or loads of main poles.

We've had this tent so long I can't actually remember when we bought it but we had it well before my eldest who was born in 2008. We use this for largely long weekend (Fri-Mon) breaks probably about half a dozen times a year.

It's not always been with my young family, I've been to Knockhill\Brands Hatch\Festivals - all over the place with the 'lads' and it's taken all kinds of punishment. Now we get our double airbed in and two single for the little ones and we just about fit in the bedroom space. Still plenty of room in the front. The side porch is really useful for keeping beer\coolboxes etc. More recently it's been useful for the potty!

Easy to put up on your own - as with all tents (especially if your on your own) you need orientate it 'into the wind' so to speak so that you don't over stretch anything or put too much pressure on the poles. Once up it's rock solid and has survived gales (a little sheltered as we knew they were coming) in the north of Scotland.

Last year we took it for a full week to south wales where it was mostly torrential. I think it was then that it got really saturated and as we were in a cottage for the following week, I just couldn't get it dry as it rained there too.

I think the wales trip is what finally broke it as it has just developed a small leak on the last two trips - in heavy rain. Not a chance I could mark it down for that though. And it seems that it's one of the seams at the back near the top just dripping slightly so I'll give a go with some seam sealer. I'll hardly be upset at having to buy a new one after this long.

Previously I've owned many bigger and smaller tents of the flexi pole variety and after seemingly replacing them when they split every year, gave up and went for this. I will never look back on that decision!

I don't know if it's really this type of tent or the make as Outwell is the only make of this type I've owned. The quality does seem remarkably high - you pay for it but then it does last too.

In upshot, a fantastic tent. Probably the greatest ever made. If the leak isn't cured I'm tempted to try a slightly larger Outwell.

Our Monty 4 was a bargain purchase off of eBay where the only fault was a knackered pole. I got a friend to repair this at his factory workshop and off we went for a short 3 day break. No issues with the weather getting in and only had the usual 'snore back draft'/condensation dripping on me to contend with. Plenty of room inside playing cards on the 1 afternoon that it did rain - cushty. Can't fault Outwell!

Date of manufacture is approximate as purchased second hand. This replaced our leaking Monty 4 (see previous review).

Son and Girlfriend used this tent for a wet week in wet Wales and no leaks were reported in spite of 1 months worth of rain falling in less than 24 hours. Quite an achievement!

This is a great tent for two adults, with plenty of room to move around and ample space for storage, either in the bedroom pods or the side porch area.

As with all Outwell tents the bedroom pod can be split into two or opened up to provide a large sleeping area.

Used with Footprint and carpet which makes the whole tent much warmer and more comfortable under foot.

Plenty of closeable vents to prevent condensation and flyscreens on all openings make for a comfortable home with no mozzy invasions.

Super tent, lots of room, has never leaked. Minnesota porch additionally has always worked well with this tent. We use it for just 2 adults, but we can put bikes under cover in the cooking/porch area if we need to.Quite easy to put up, sometimes the poles are tight when we take it down, but no real difficulties dismantling.

We owned one of the earlier models of this tent, the one without the porch, we bought it second hand of e-bay, (have since sold it as spares or repair). I say owned because it leaked really badly over the very wet Easter weekend, this has nothing to do with the integrity of the tent and more to do with the previous owners care! We have now purchased a newer version, but not used it yet.

The tent itself is fantastic and gives plenty of room for two over a weekend trip,(We have a Monty 6 for longer trips or when taking grandchildren away).

The area inside the tent is big enough for table and chairs for eating if the weather is not so good and also for our inflatable Coleman chairs for relaxing in the evenings. All in all a great tent for two, but would be cosy (to say the least) for four.

I'm guessing it was made in 2009 as I bought it new but secondhand from an ebay seller that never used it.

I bought this tent because a friend had a Montana 6 and it was one of the few tents that didn't get blown down on a very windy day on a cliff top campsite. My old tent had 3 fibre glass poles shatter, one of them went through the side wall of the tent.

We've used the tent for several weekends and is great for the two of us. The sleeping areas can be made into one to make one large area but should fit 2 double airbeds fairly easily.

It is a good tent with steel poles and I have erected on my own once but the novice may struggle and suggest 2 people should do this. If you were to erect singlehandedly it may be worth taking the bedrooms out of the tent beforehand.

The tent has been waterproof and has never leaked, has a bath tub type groundsheet which keeps the bugs out if you keep the zips all done up. The main area you can stand up in easily ( I'm 5'11) but if you go with a lot of gear the room can fill up. It's worth investing in a carpet -my girlfriend thought I was nuts but she has been impressed with the difference in temperature. It has a storage area handy for shoes torches in the main room on the wall with the bedroom.

I have known people to put a camping toilet in the porch area for those late night emergencies but I don't have the space to carry one.

You can buy activity walls and other bits via re-sellers. It's worth investing in a extension so you can sit/cook outside and gives you that extra bit of freedom out of rains way. Although not made anymore the extension is available new from a company on ebay for �125 and rarely appear secondhand without having to buy the tent as well.

This is our fourth year using our Montana 4 and it's still in great condition. I think it's a shame it's no longer made as it's better than the Minnesota. If you are lucky enough to find a new one (I did see one a few weeks ago in Blacks!) or are looking at a second hand one, I can recommend it.

There are two of us and there is plenty of room, even for a week away. We have the canopy and the carpet, both of which improve the tent considerably. The canopy in particular was a great buy as it gives shelter from the rain when going in and out of the tent. Also helps if you need to cook in the rain!

We had 4 very rainy days in Devon - it rained for nearly 48 hours non-stop and we only experienced a few drips coming through on the last morning before the rain finally stopped. We were impressed after that amount of rain.

The roof of the tent is light grey, which lets in lots of light, but the downside is that it is very light in the mornings which might wake you up pretty early. We've solved this with eye masks.!

The sloping sides do make it a bit awkward to keep things tidy as any 'furniture' you might buy would end up not utilising the space fully. That's my only real problem with this tent, but it's a small niggle.
