Love this tent, I have owned many makes from Coleman to Vango and just upgraded from a gelert 500 to Outwell, I can honestly say its the most comfortable tent ive stayed in. What impressed me the most is the Montana 6 has such good ventilation there wasnt a drop of condensation the next morning. Cosy warm and we will never buy another make now we have had the Outwell. Just love it.

Bought this to replace a touring caravan so I could still camp with my boys. Very impressed with quality, however first time out some drunk fell into my porch and broke both alloy angled joints and split the front steel pole tube. The fabric didn't suffer any adverse effects. Finding spares was problematic eventually got generic spares from Scotland.

Tested in adverse weather in August, no leaks anywhere. It was able to accommodate five 6'+ adults in chairs whilst cooking in the living space, ideal.

Looking forward to next summer.

On the whole very pleased with this tent. We have just used it in the Pyrenees and it withstood a few thunderstorms and torrential rain. Although it is a six man tent my husband and I are very comfortable in it on our own by the time we use one bedroom for the dressing room including a wardrobe. The porch is very useful as a wet room. You do need a reasonable size pitch. I agree with the other reviewers that the front door is too high and we had to take a stool on the inside to open it up.Fortunately we have the holdall with the wheels which protects it.

So happy with this 2009 Montana 6, for the quality.

Have ended up camping in snow, gale force winds and thunder and lightening which have not effected the tent.

When I couldn't find a Front Awning for my 2009 Montana 6, I bought a 2013 Front Awning for Georgia 5 P, because the dimensions were slightly bigger and it fitted great.

Able to fit 2 kitchens 1 for cooker and storing pans, 1 for storing and preparing food and cooler box in awning. This helped to keep the main tent clean and tidy.

Bought this tent second hand as we were new to camping and didn't want to splash out too much on a brand new one in case we decided it wasn't for us. We loved it! There are only two of us but the tent is versatile enough to adapt to a few more. The tent is still I going and although leaked in a few places, was nothing some tenacious tape and some waterproofer didn't fix. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another Outwell.

I LOVE this tent! This is the best tent I have ever had or used and have been camping for well over 20 years. It is easy to erect - takes me and my fiance approx 30 mins to fully unpack, erect and peg down - brilliant. We have camped in all weathers in this and it is sturdy and completely waterproof. Spacious, looks great and Outwell put lots of little simple nice touches in them like the cable tidy for the centre light in the living room and lots of storage pockets on the outside of the bedroom. Love the fact that you don't have to take the bedrooms down - its all-in-one pitching at its best! Cant say enough great things about this tent. I'm just dreading the day it finally starts wearing out as I believe the newer models arent so great!

We have owned several tents in the past and then on one camping trip we saw a family pitch up an Outwell Montana 6 from a small holdall sized bag in about 30 mins and made up our minds there and then, that was our next purchase! We have had it now for a few years and have been pitched up in extremely strong winds. Our tent was strong and rigid while those around up dropped like flies during the night. It has a lovely big seating area inside for when it is raining and seats two families plus a table to sit around comfortably. I would buy this tent again tomorrow!

What a nightmare.

I bought an Outwell Montana 6 in 2005 and have used it for one weekend. Of the 3 nights we were under the tent, only one was in what you could describe as a tent, the other 2 were under the remains of a tent we had to bodge in order to get some cover.

When this tent was made there were rumours of poor quality poles. We discovered these were true. We left the tent on the first morning for a walk and noted there was a bit of wind. When we got back to the tent, the poles at the front had buckled and the fabric of the tent was torn. I was gutted, the tent cost over Ł500 and was ruined after less than 24 hours of use.

I returned the tent to the dealer I bought it from and asked for a refund, he said it would be sent back to Outwell. I waited for weeks and was constantly fobbed off. When the tent eventually came back it had new poles and apparently the torn fabric had been repaired. Now forgive me for a moment here, but how waterproof would you expect a repaired tear to be? My view is that the integrity of the tent was compromised. Another issue was with the poles. Yes I had a brand new set of poles from Outwell that were stronger, clearly this was a design issue that Outwell knew about given the replacements were available. However, when the tent was returned, the pole bag contained the poles, pegs and the fibreglass hoop for the side porch. When the tent was returned the new poles were present, but no pegs and no side porch pole.

However before I could take the matter further with the dealer, he shut up shop. I was left with a useless tent that I had no confidence in; waterproof? I think not. I was left missing the items I need to pitch the tent unless I paid out for replacement pegs and a new porch pole.

The tent has been dumped ion my cellar for the last 8 years. An investment of Ł500 for something I was able to use as it was designed for less than 24 hours. I have never camped since.

Having borrowed a friend's 2011 Montana 6 we decided to take the plunge and upgrade our smaller tent. We noticed several changes, the material doesn't seem as thick and is 'shinier' looking. Maybe this is just down to it being newer, I don't know, but it looked a bit cheaper. The large end door, the zips go so high up that I had to open the bottom and stand inside the tent to reach (the slope prevented opening to the top from outside). And I'm 5' 9' so not too short.

The zip openings, they are much better as they are now a fluorescent loop and much easier to use. The bedrooms no longer have a 'curtain' in front of the mesh - they are simply mesh. Better for ventilation but not much privacy if a non-family group are sharing. The tent pegs and poles still seem just as good, the pegs are now colour-coordinated.

Rather than being provided in a strong, wheeled holdall the tent now comes in what I would call a compression sack. There are pluses and minuses - the earlier model bag was much stronger and would protect the tent better. But it was very difficult to get the tent into the bag. Once inside though, it was easy to manoeuvre because of the wheels. The new bag - very easy to get the tent in but not very easy to carry due to its weight, the bag doesn't seem very strong and you feel you need to take the strain with both hands which makes it awkward to lift. And no protection, you would need to be careful because I think the tent could easily be torn through the bag. I preferred the peace of mind of the older bag, even though it was more tricky to use.

The actual tent - brilliant amount of space. It is a 6 man tent but with 6 adults in the 2 bedrooms, I think a bit cosy - we are a 4 person family and it's fine for us. The two pods are side by side and the inner zip can be opened so you can see the kids (if you want to!) The living area, huge - an inlet for your hookup and loads of space for furniture. Loads of head room.

There are 3 doors, one is a wet weather entrance (porch), very handy. The footprint is now shaped to include the porch area. The porch area has its own optional bucket groundsheet which is fastened on for extra weather protection. The main tent, nothing can get into as the ground sheet is sewn in. But the porch - I found a frog in it one morning, the kids were pleased.

Overall I am very pleased with the tent, there are a few positive tweaks from the previous models, there are a few negatives but I see why - the company are trying to remain competitive at a difficult time. I paid about Ł450 including the carpet and all footprints (I shopped around) and I'm very pleased with what I got for my money. I looked hard for a better tent - but I couldn't find one. I would not hesitate to recommend this to any 4 person family looking for a larger tent and living area. It can be further expanded by use of the canopy if you want (I don't think we'll feel the need to do this). And the steel poles apparently mean it will withstand a force 9 gale. An excellent buy - would have got 10 out of 10 if the bag was better.

This is one of the best tents we have ever owned. We have had both torrential rain and scorching sun and the tent withstands both equally well. The tent is very easy to erect, taking about 15 minutes from laying out to it being up and usable.

The large windows and three doors provide several options for keeping the tent cool on hot days and dry on wet ones. The porch, doubles as a toilet room for us and enables dry access on rainy days.

The tent has built in storage which helps find a home for all the bits we seem to take like torches and maps, etc. And the tent has built in Velcro straps for lighting as well as a cable entry point so being on a hookup is easy too.

We have the carpet and footprint in ours which makes the tent feel really warm and snug and allows the kids to play on the floor in comfort.

Whilst the tent is marketed as a 6berth, it only sleeps 4 in comfort. This aside, It's had to imagine a better tent.
