An excellent tent to use, build quality is second to none. There is a front porch of about 3x2 meters, no carpet to get wet, so you can sit inside with front open, no matter what the weather is like. The interior is huge, with a wardrobe to hang clothes up, my wife can even hang her dresses up! A fitted carpet and two large bedrooms, a zipped divider between them. We had a Colorado 5 before this, and that was great, but no groundsheet. This is great for three nights or more, I have to put this up by myself, and I don't want to do that too often! It is a great tent and I do not want to change it.

Bought a sh one out of the paper as didn't want to invest 500 plus on a new one for first time family campers. Just spent a week in Wales and the first two nights was like sleeping in a wind tunnel with with a pressure washer outside. I was convinced that we would have water in and damage to the tent but it was perfectly dry and didn't move an inch. This tent is amazing and if I had to say anything negative I would echo the other comments ref letting in too much light in the bedroom and not having electrical entry points on both sides but no real biggy.

Awesome. Owned Nevada M previously and had tent envy. Decided to upgrade to Vermont LP this year. It is the perfect tent, even for small family of 3. Practical layout with bedroom, lounge and kitchen/porch areas and small wardrobe area. Steel poles mean that this tent is not moving in wind assuming guy ropes and pegged in correctly. Wish I had upgraded sooner!

We bought this tent after having a not so good one and found the quality 100 percent better!
Used it in france for 2 weeks, in wind it held firm, and in rain not a single leak.
Myself and my wife can erect it in about 30-40mins(longer when the kids help!)
Only slight drawback with the tent is it is a struggle to pitch on some sites because of size, but it is a fantastic tent for a large family and there are plenty of sites that can cope wit it

I bought my Vermont s/h from ebay having researched for ages on the best tent on the market. I have to say, it is Brilliant with a capital B.
There are only three of us, so the bedrooms are easily big enough but I doubt you would sleep 6 as the tent says without sleeping on top of each other. For three it is great.
The large living area is great and we use the front part of the tent for the kitchen although I have purchased a Montana 6 canopy (which fits the Vermont L & LP as the tents are the same width) and we cook under the canopy.
I would definitely recommend buying the canopy as it makes a great seating or cooking area when you cannot use your day tent in the busy periods. It also shelters the from door from the rain we get in lovely blighty.
Overall for the cost of this tent it is perfect, easy to pitch (takes about 45 mins with two) and even easier to take down (takes about 25 mins with two).
Buy one, they are ace!

We have been camping with our young family for 5 years and have recently upgraded to the Vermont from a higear zenobia + porch.
I have for the last couple of seasons suffered from tent envy! I knew the Vermont was the one!
We can get this tent up in about 15 mins and then another 30 mins give or take for pegging out. Simple to erect (peg four corners then start with middle pole and work your way out.
The porch area is huge even with kitchen unit, cupboard and table and chairs. Big lounge area with great head room. We use the walk in wardrobe as an erm. En suite area! The bedrooms are of a good size. In the larger room we were able to get our very large intex queensize bed in with a sports holdall full of clothing next to it and still have walking space either side. The second room fits two standard size airbeds with no more space. You could of course open up the two pods to make one massive room if this suits your needs.
This tent with all its windows and vents is light and airy. I also love its 3 different access points.
Only improvement I would suggest is that the tent bag and peg bag could be a little bit more generous but thats probably down to our rather rubbish folding skills! And maybe an electrical access point on both sides of the tent rather than just on the right.
Great tent!

We purchased our Vermont L at the end of last season at a sale price of around £540. We have just used it for our a fortnight holiday having only previously done a test pitch in the local park.
What an excellent tent with a great amount of space for our family of four.
We chose the tent over the ever popular Montana 6 due to it having the built in porch / vestibule at the front. This gives a great area to cook in without affecting the tent's stability.
We chose not to use the detachable groundsheet in the porch area so that we could securely anchor kitchen stands etc. To the ground. It also offered flexibility of being able to walk straight in from wet grass without needing to remove wet footwear at the door.
Once pitched, we also chose to remove the wardrobe area and just use the hanging rail for coats and towels. We are a family of four, so there was plenty of space in the bedroom areas for our clothes etc.
The tent was relatively easy to pitch by opening all the doors, pegging out the four corners then raising by starting with the centre pole first and moving outwards. My wife helped with each of the poles then just left me to fully peg out the tent.
Our only concern was that there was a small amount of water ingress along one of the seams. From speaking to the retailer, we believe this may be due to this being the first time that the tent has been used and it may need weathering. They have offered to do this for us and if they find an actual problem they will look to remedy it.
Had we had no water ingress, we would have awarded the tent 10 out of 10.

My husband and kids have been camping fans for the past 5 years but I had stayed home during their 'once/twice a summer' overnight camping trips in order to 'mind the baby' and, when she was old enough to join them last year, to mind the dog! So this year, I came to the conclusion that it was time to join them! We started looking for a tent in June as the old one had seen better days and my husband knew that if he were to entice me to join them, then a little comfort would be required.
We knew Outwell was a top brand, so it was a case of deciding which Outwell was for us. We decided on the Vermont L as we wanted one that would accommodate our growing kids (now 12, 10 & 5) for a good number of years.
What can I say - this is a great tent! The head room is super - one of my requirements was that I could walk full height (even though I'm not that tall) through the tent without any need for bending or crouching. The 2 'bedrooms' are great - our 3 kids were very comfortable in the 4 berth room (a single & double airbed fitted easily), but putting a 4th person in there would have been a squeeze, so I would recommend this really as a comfortable 5 person tent rather than the 6 that it is advertised as. Our double airbed fitted easily in the 2 berth room.
One of the many features of this tent that I like is the wardrobe - so handy to have a designated place for the bags and to be able to hang things up. I also really liked the 2 side 'doors' - both can be opened fully, but with the mesh screen in place to keep out the bugs, to allow air to ventilate the tent. Also the additional little ventilation panels along the side of the tent were great. We were camping in Ireland and didn't have any great temperatures to deal with, so I'd like to test out these features in warmer weather, e.G. France.
The 'living area' is very spacious and would accommodate everyone sitting in there if weather required - on our two weekends camping the weather was dry so we didn't need this area for sitting in the evenings. We did buy the optional carpet for this area and it made such a difference - it really made it cosy and the kids happily lay on it colouring, reading, playing DS, etc. In my opinion this is a must-buy optional extra.
The front 'porch' area was where we stored our cooking equipment, chairs, food, etc - we moved our stove outside when cooking and sat outside to eat, but again, if weather was poor, we could have cooked and eaten in this area.
The many windows allow lots of light into the tent and there are zip-up curtains for when privacy is required. Also, the luminous guy ropes are great at night to avoid trip-ups.
Putting the tent up and down takes a bit of practice and we did this twice in our back garden before we ventured off camping. On our first camping trip it took us about an hour to have it fully up and ready, on our second trip it took maybe 45-50 minutes, so it does get easier. Watch the YouTube clips on how to do this a few times before attempting it yourself!
All in all, we love this tent and hope to venture to France with it next year. A great buy!

Have had the Outwell Vermont L for approx 18 months after purchasing it off Ebay for a bargain price so my husband tells me, and worth every penny spent and every penny saved, love it, its brilliant I am a converted non camper and now I love it! and have been bitten by the camping bug! Its a very big family tent, with 2 sleeping areas, a living area with carpet!, wardrobe and cooking area at the font that you can open up completely on really hot days. Its not too complicated to put up, yes does take a bit of time but then it is a big tent and a lot more room than what you'd have in a caravan I think, just love it and cant wait to go camping again in it next year!

We bought this tent in the sale earlier this year 2011 at a very good price of £539.99 and like the other reviews love it. Easy to erect and put away (pitched it first at local park). The tent is more than big enough for myself and partner, we also bought the side canopy and have used it the last two times when away. Family and friends always end up under the canopy with us. We have the carpet which make a huge difference to the living area. Only used the wardrobe once, don't see the need for it so not used since. We bought a different footprint for the tent which was actually longer and wider than the Vermont footprint. This meant that we could cut it to fit, as I wanted it to go right to the front of the tent under the bath tud. This as made it better for packing away the awning part of the tent. Would also agree with others that the sleeping area would benefit from blackout material, but with the canopy on it dose make it a little darker and it also keeps most of the tent dry when it rains (you don't have to wait as long for the tent to dry out to pack it away).Could do with an electric point on both sides of the tent also. The tent is perfect for short or long breaks with plenty of room. It's all the stuff you take with you that makes it difficult for short stays. As the more room you have the more you take with you:).Love the tent wouldn't change it had lots of comments from fellow campers on how impressive the tent looks.
