We bought one of these tent the day before we went camping. This was the easiest tent ever to put up, done in less than an hour ( with fits of laughter at sheer size. Easy to do and massive we sat 14 in the communal area no leaks and no real draughts, could pick a few holes in it but for the money fantastic.

I don't understand some of the reviews saying the tent fell down in the wind and lets in water, I really don't. We've been on 2 big holidays with the tent, in Scotland and Cambridgeshire, on both occasions we had a day of two of deluge and heavy winds, not one complaint, the tent stood and didn't let in water. The only time it let in water was when I stood up and actually pushed the top of the tent and even then only a few drops came in. So maybe they didn't pitch the tent right or have the right tension etc, but so far this tent has withstood a battering.

I agree that it is more suited as a 5 person than 8 (unless you use camp mats instead of air beds), and yes the entrance is low and you have to duck. I'm 6'3 and to fully close the entrance is a struggle. And yes the ground sheet doesn't go to the edge, but unles you plan on stepping in the 2 inch border, is that really a problem???.

The main area is large enough for a table and 5 chairs and also our cooker set too so a family will comfortable in this tent.

I rate this tent and the only downside I say, is the entrance.

We have had our tent for 3years and have used X4 times for weekends only. We are a family of three and agree, it would only really suit X5 rather than X8. We too bought it on ebay for £80 approx.

We have camped in two prolonged downpours and only had a few spots/drips through the very centre of the dome in the middle.

Great size - plenty of room for X12 adults in the middle when it was raining one night - all on chairs and with a table!

Not bad to put up, but it does take two to get the tension right. Easy to take down with two.

We are not hardened campers but I was going away for longer than 3 nights or more than twice a year, I would invest in a new tent - a tunnel where you don't have to duck as much!

Very good starter tent, especially if bought at a similar price on eBay.

Spotted this tent on ebay and bought it for about £80 - first tent and first foray into camping. I loved it - very pretty to look at; light and airy; great in fine weather. Unfortunately we couldn't guarantee the weather. We only used it three times before giving up on it in France when we had to move into a cottage for the remainder of our holiday. Gaps around the sides let the wind in and it leaked every time through the seams above the bedroom pods, despite copious amounts of fabsil. Poor doorway design means you have to crawl into a tight space, on the grass to get the zip open or closed. Used as a fair weather only tent, for a maximum of 5 people, with an awning over the door - it would be great. Just don't expect anything serious from it.

As with most people bought this from ebay for £60. Bargain I thought. The tent is actually quite good. Been away on several 3-9 day holidays. Although definitely a 5 berth for a proper holiday with all equipment needed for 2 adults and 2 kids. Easy enough to erect but needs 2 people. Plenty of room inside if need be for table an chairs and cooker if it rains. Been in all sorts of weather and holds up well to strong winds if properly secured. Waterproofing a slight issue if really heavy rain and the fact the inner ground sheet of the main area does not properly cover the space means water can run in. But this is easily rectified by lifting it up at the corners where it is pegged in. All in all this tent has lasted well and I expect it will last a good deal longer provided it is looked after. Get yours from e bay as wouldn't pay full price. Large storage bag a bonus as makes packing the tent extremely easy

I bid for this tent on ebay and paid £95.00 for it, which I thought was a bargain.

The first time I used it, there was a pole missing and one of the porch uprights was broken, so we had to use a bedroom pole for the front porch and leave the smaller bedroom area flapping in the wind. I contacted the seller, but to no avail. We have since purchased another pole which is not the right size, but it does the job and we have to roll the front entrance up.

It is definitely a comfortable 5 and not for 8 - my husband and I barely have enough room in our supposed 3 man pod (and we are average size!) and I now use the smaller area podless and have my extremely welcome 'kampa khazee' in there instead!

The ground sheet does not fit the octagonal interior and there is always grass outside one of the pods which is extremely annoying.

We have just been to the lakes and were caught in a torrential downpour - yes the tent leaked in three places although not badly.

I believe you get what you pay for - if I had paid full price I would have been extremely disappointed, but I didn't so I guess I can't moan too much.

The space in the middle is great for sitting out of the rain and still having room to walk about.

For a fair weather weekend it's OK, but I would not like to use it for any longer.

Fortunately we have a smaller, better made and much more expensive tent, which we can use if need be - I doubt this tent will last more than a few seasons. I would not recommend it.

This is our first tent since changing from a caravan. The reason we bought it was that 1. - it was cheap £70.00 and 2. - it had loads of space.

We have been out in in three times, each without any problem - totally agree that the instructions were a waste - we had more fun reading them than using them!

Agree that the 8 berth is actually a comfortable 5. We are a family of 4 and we find it is just right.

My only regret is that there is no-where to stand a wardrobe/food storage as the height around the edges of the living area is a little too low and the only other option is smack bang in the middle of the tent.

Great size just very poorly made all the peg and pole attachments ripped during erection by the third use, very stable just not very waterproof. On the last outing we ended up scrapping it after 2 days and getting a smaller but better made tent. Not really worth the money unless you can guarantee dry and calm weather.

We brought this tent just by reading manfucturers info without reading campers reviews. Once we read these we wondered if we had made a mistake. We had a w/e away where we tested the tent before we went on our 9 night holiday.

The tent was found to be a great size but if camping we would say that it really is for 5 people. We agree with other reviewers about slope in sleeping pods being low.

The entrance into the tent we found to be a bit low and had to duck to enter.

The ground sheet in the main area is a bit 2 small for the area and would have definitely benefited from been sewn in. We ended up being woken up 1 morning by a bird that had got into the tent.

Whilst we were away we got woken up on 2 mornings by heavy rain, thunder and lighting. This was our worst nightmare after reading reviews but on both nights we found that the tent stood up well to the conditions. We also had strong winds which the tent also survived with no problem.

When the tent came new the guy ropes weren't attached and not realising they came in different lengths so had to keep moving them round to get them to the right point.

All in all I would say that we found no problem with the tent and even though its ok we will be looking to now upgrade tent as we now have camping bug. Its a great size tent to have as a starter tent.

We bought one of these tents in 2006. First time out it got flattened by moderate winds with broken poles and ripped off tabs. I would say that this tent has major issues. Got my money back no problem though.
