We have had this tent for a few years but until recently had only used it for weekends. We have just returned from a week in Cornwall of very mixed weather.

When hot there are air vents, two doors and two windows to open, when raining there is plenty of space to sit in - there were 5 of us sleeping and 4 visitors at times! The windows and light roof let in a lot of light.

The colder nights resulted in some condensation dripping in the morning even with the vents open but it was fully waterproof in heavy rain. Unfortunately when opening the door in the rain it did come into the tent because of the slope on the door. This can be avoided by the addition of a porch extension which we shall buy for next time.

The tent is easy and quick to put up with just two. Plenty of bedroom space for 8 adults if necessary.

We needed to replace our old tent but were not sure what we wanted. A look round our local camping shop and we decided on the Royal Atlanta and it has so far proved to be a good choice. It stood up to rain on the tester weekend and has just stood up to strong wind and heavy rain on the weeks holiday we have just had. There were 4 of us and there was more than enough room for all of us and the usual stuff that comes with camping. It was easy to put up and take down and felt cosy when the weather was at its worst. Others on the site were yelling for towels ect during the rain while we sat there warm and dry. Would def recommend this tent.

This is the third review I have submitted of this tent. The score has reduced because after 4 years we are experiencing problems with the sewn-in groundsheet. The groundsheet seems to have 'perished' it has become very fragile, a large tear appeared when I placed the flat of my hand on the floor when repairing a small tear with Tenacious Tape. Further tears have now occurred across a wide area of the groundsheet and we will probably have to have it replaced.

We have recently upgraded from a smaller 6 berth tent which did not have a sewn in ground sheet. This made a HUGE difference to the warmth at night time, something I really suffer from!

It's a bit of a monster, took us about 45 minutes to put up (two of us) but I'm sure that with practice we will manage it much quicker next time.

The bedrooms have inner sections which can be removed, the also have great outer pockets which are really useful for storage and organisation.

Even with both bedrooms up there is still plenty of inner living space. The doors zip down so that there is a mesh section for good ventilation, the same with a section above the windows, this proved particularly useful for ventilation when having to cook inside.

We bought the footprint and I'm glad we did, without it we would have struggled to get it packed away and cleaned. Now I'm sure there is an easier way to do it but we really struggled to get the main body of the tent back into the bag!

+ Colour coded poles

+ Inner bedroom pockets

+ Supported porches

+ Well ventilated

+ Living and bedroom space

+ Footprint available (and a must in my opinion)

+ Extension available

+ Carpet available

+ Easy to erect (for two people)

+ Warm!

- Heavy

- Hard to get back in bag

Would I recommend it? YES!

Great tent and handy that has porch extension too. Easily accommodates my husband and I along with our two dogs. Similar to others we find it easy to pitch but it is heavy. We tend to use it for longer holidays and have a smaller tent for overnight stays. I've just seen that it has a footprint groundsheet available so will definitely look into this.

I cannot recommend this tent highly enough. We have just returned from two weeks camping in Wales and experienced the worst that Mother Nature could throw at us! Despite the 70 mile an hour winds, torrential rain and flooding the tent stayed up and did not leak one drop.Due to the flooding, we ended up taking the tent down and moving it late one evening. It took us less than 20 minutes and yes it was still dry inside. The fact that the tent lived up to the reviews was just brilliant!

After years of having 4 berth tents this is my first experience of a bigger tent and it did not disappoint. Quick and easy to put up and take down, even in the dark and only 2 pairs of hands. The tent has a large living area in the centre which is ideal and 2 (can be split to 4) bedroom areas. The weekend we were away was quite windy with heavy showers and we were very exposed in the centre of the campsite. The tent barely moved and there was certainly no sign of leakage.Highly recommended

I have owned and used loads of tents in my time and have to say this has been one of the best.It is easy to assemble and take down, and the living space is a good size too.We have used it mainly with 2 families of 4.We have also brought the porch extension and we are going to invest in a second on to give us more space. It holds out really well to in winds.Would recommend highly above other makes I have owned and still own.

Easy to use, plenty of room even with 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 large dogs! British weather proof! quick to erect and dismantle. Porch extension well worth getting so you have somewhere to sit and watch the weather without getting soaked or blown away. Versatile with regards to detachable inner walls the kids had one room each one side, and we had two rooms combined on the other. Compact for travelling.

Laboured over reviews for tents as although we are only a family of 4 the children are young and my wife isn't in the best of health. We caught the early Sun and planned 3 days away and the Royal was the right choice of tent. During the Daytime we left one bedroom down to give us a huge amount of space and only put the other bedroom up in the evening when everyone was settled. The tent itself performed outstandingly and although I'll still use my smaller tent when it is just me and my Son this is an ideal and easy to put up tent. I managed it on my own in around 20 minutes and the same packing it down. Like with all large tents I bought an extra bag and split it between the two, be honest your never going backpacking with something this size so make it easier on yourself. All in all I laboured over the reviews and am glad I picked this as I can see it getting a lot of use.
