We purchased the Vario 600 after realising the first tent we chose was rather inadequate in size. The Vario certainly makes up for this! The living area is very large, even includes a side store room making the main part feel really spacious. I can just reach the roof which furthers the airy feel. There is a lot of window coverage so lots of light too. Although on a bright 'white-cloud' day make sure you have your sunglasses as it gets super-bright in there.
The bedrooms are a good size, we are a family of three so it's perfect, I would not want to sleep six in the bedrooms, though there's plenty of space in the main room for sleeping, as the ground sheet is fully sewn in and all the windows close for privacy. The only down-point was that our camp beds do not fit so we have to turn sideways which means someone is 'trapped' at the back.
We have had one heavy rain filled night but it was the tents second outing so expected the seems to be a little damp as the tent wasn't yet weather-proofed in. Just a few drips though which was great considering to night of rain!
It is good to put up. The usual irritating snagging as you're trying to get the poles through the holes but quite minimal, lots of pegging but that makes for stability! It did shake a bit in the wind but never felt it would be a problem.
In all we love this tent, I'd be happy to stay for a couple of weeks in it.

Great tent easy to pitch, side porch area is ideal for either kithen as we use, or if you have small children, a porta poti, as it has a zipped door, it can be closed off from the living area.
We purchased this to use as a weekend tent, rather than our Khyam ontario 8, which to be fair can be a bit to big for a weekend, as this tent was listed as sleeping 6, being a family of 5, 2 adults 3 teenages we thought it would be suffice. Sadly the sleeping compartments are not really suitable to accomodate all of our sleeping requirments, and would be more ideally suited to a family of 4.
The fully sewn in ground sheet is a plus in any tent, the bedroom pods have sewn in ground sheets, which give extra protection. The roof/ceiling area, has two clear plastic windows with covers, which allows additional light, however, as with most tents condesation tends to drip from the inside of the tent material and poles. We will hold onto this tent for a while longer as it does suit our needs despite the sleeping arrangements, having recently purchaed a Omni Canopy for it, the instructions for attaching were easier than the task itself, and more than 2 persons (in our case) were required to put the canopy up and secure.
We use the khyam carpet which fits snuggly inside the Sunncamp to give us extra warmth, there are loads of pockets, plenty of guy ropes, and hooks, overall we would recommend this tent others, it takes on average about 20 minutes to put up, before banging in all the ground pegs. There are two poles which run front to back on either side inside, which makes the tent ridgid. Plenty of windows, for light, front door has 2 zips.
Overall a good family tent, has never let us down despite being a bit of a squeeze when it comes to sleeping. The lounge is more than suitable for a large table and 5 chairs to sit round for lunch.

We love this tent, its spacious and light and we have had many enjoyable holidays and weekends in it. We used to cook inside when we first got it, in the side extension, but it was cold outside then. I tend to cook outside most of the time. We also purchased the sun canopy which is great for more outside cover but be careful to check the size of pitches before you arrive as this is a whopper of a tent especially with the canopy. The only reason I didnt give 10/10 is the floor in extension area it doesn't sit right no matter what we do! But looking at other reviews I'm relieved its not just us and our pitching ability. Otherwise fantastic, its easy to pitch, 2 of us can do it no bother in 45 mins, all complete air beds etc with feet up and cuppa in hand

We brought this tent as we had a four man older style. The windows all around the tent are fantastic and the the roof ones make it so bright. There are lots of storage pockets. We went camping in a group and at one time there were 9 people sitting in our tent enough room. Like someone else said the floor in the side extension does not sit properly but we had our camp kitchen in there so didn't really matter but next time we are thinking of digging a small hole in the ground for the poles to go down and see how it fits. Overall we were very pleased with this tent have only used it twice.

Have used this tent a lot and are very, very happy with it. The quality is fantastic, it withstood a very bad thunderstorm really well-the floor lifted and the storm raged but the tent stood firm without any problems at all. The bedroom area is darker than the rest of the tent which helps with our young son wakening too early in the mornings, the zips are all good quality for getting out fast if you need to,there is plenty of room in the living area for four people to 'have a night in' if need be and the tent itself is very light inside all the time(includes skylight covers if you want extra light). The only thing I would change is the bedroom layout;for us as a family of two adults and two children, boy and girl,I would prefer equal sized bedrooms, but this is a personal preference and you can easily fit three single airbeds in the big bedroom and one in the smaller bedroom.

We purchased this tent as an upgrade to our 4 berth sunncamp tent. The overall design and appearance is great. After a few goes its easy to erect with two people but in strong winds as with all tunnel tents its very difficult but we have always managed it.
The main points for us is that you can open both the doors in the rain and no water comes in, so the inside keeps dry. The space in the bedroom pods is more that enough for 4 people, not sure about sleeping 6. We find the living space is more than enough, although we do tend to cook outside. It would have been better if the windows were opened/closed from the inside rather that outside, but this is only a minor issue. All in all we are very happy with this tents and we always get a few admirers on sites wherever we go.

We bought our Family Vario 600 and took it out for a couple of weekends and the family holiday last year. Overall we are very happy with it. It stood up to some serious rain in the Dorset summer and overall the build quality was very good.
Pitching the tent is relatively easy, if time-consuming, and is definitely a two person job in my opinion. We have also bought the front canopy which is great for extending the tent BUT is a pain to attach correctly of you are shortish like me(5'7').
The space inside is excellent and the sleeping areas large enough for our family of three (at the time). Although I have noticed that Sunncamp seem think that us campers are beanpoles!
We didn't find the ventilation to be poor in the tent whether the windows were open or closed - although some guys on the windows would have shown a bit more thought from Sunncamp.
I do have a couple of niggles that stop this being a 10/10 tent though.
1) We have found that the side storage area floor does not sit quite right it is stretched and very tight. We went back to the store where we bought it from and had a look at their showroom one and the problem seemed to be there as well. Its as though the poles over that bit of the tent are a bit too long and I avoid standing there (although my cooking stand is fine there).
2) As another post has mentioned, there are other areas where the stitching seems wonky. Its not a deal breaker but is disappointing.
Overall the tent is very good just those couple of niggles stop a good tent being a great tent!

We used the Vario 600 in July 2009 occupied by three adults.
As regards erecting the tent I found the flexipoles awkward to thread in and remove from the channels. I think it needs at least two people to assemble this tent.
The bedrooms are a good size, treated as a double and a single they had lots of room for our single airbeds, which allowed space at the sides. I wouldn’t fancy sleeping six. The enclosed store room is great.
The living area handled three chairs, two tables, kitchen/cooker shelves, wardrobe and a clothes stand and there was plenty of room for moving around the tent.
The Vario 600 like all tents holds condensation generated by cooking, occupancy etc, the tunnel shape of this tent and the unprotected position of the vents means that allowing moisture to escape or suitable ventilation in wet weather especially when cooking is a problem. When we went out for the day the tent had to be sealed.
The window covers can only be opened or closed from the outside.
The Vario 600 stood up to a good few soakings of rain without a problem.

Just bought are new vario 600 after looking at several tent and I am very pleased with it, loads of room and very light due to the roof lights. We have just got back from are first trip in it which we sore rain! wind and sun, The tent did not leak after the big down poor we had, handled the wind easy and we had no condensation what ever. It took us about 45 mins to put up, and 20 mins to take down. The only negative thing I could say is the main door could do with a flyscreen, apart from that I would recommend this tent to anyone.

This tent stood up to torrential rain and high winds without any problems. It is a little difficult to pitch when it is very windy, but we did it. Lots of living space and plenty of storage room, especially when it is only for two people. Too big to pitch just for a weekend but for a long break, it is ideal.
