We bought this tent a couple of years ago and have probably used it about half a dozen times so far.

Its very easy to set up and takes my husband and I about 30 mins to do the whole thing (including attaching the inside rooms which are separate). We like it for its overall space and ease of use, however there are a couple of small issues:

- The inners that create the rooms always seem to sag for some reason, which is annoying at night time when the cold material brushes against your head. We counteract this by putting luggage in the corners of the rooms, but it's not perfect.

- Water does get in from somewhere. We have searched and searched to find out where the leek is, but I just think that it is a bit too permeable. Most of the time this is fine and doesn't create much discomfort, but there have been two occasions when our bedding has got slightly damp following a night of very heavy rain.

Overall, we are happy with the tent and wont be looking to replace it anytime soon, but I don't get the feeling it's built to 'last a lifetime' and certainly wouldn't do for very extreme conditions.

First used our Sunncamp Invader 600 straight out of the box during the weekend of 7-8th June 2014.

Pros:

Very cheap purchase price £199 with a footprint groundsheet.

Very easy to pitch - This is the first tunel tent we have owned and even as newbies found it simple (about an hour or so fully guyed). On a calm day I think one person could pitch it fairly easily. You have 4 sets of outer poles and two sets of inner poles. It is clear what poles are for the outside and what are for the inside and each set is exactly the same size. The instructions supplied were very easy to follow and for our first pitch we had the tent looking quite good realtively quickly.

Great living area and plenty of space for a family of four however the sleeping pods may not cope with much more than this.

We had rain and it didn't leak.

There is a cable entry for an EHU and the storage bags on the sleeping pods are handy. Large windows and the two entrances make for a bright and cheery

Cons:

I am not sure if this tent will cope with any real abuse. We pitched the tent but then had to move it to another pitch so carried it with the poles still inside. It snagged on something (a bramble I think) and although it was a very gentle snag it did put a small tear in the flysheet. It was easily sorted with a bit of gaffer tape. The stitching (around the zips and seams) appears to me as another potential weak point, although we didn't have any issues with it.

I know that you can purchase an extension for around 80-100 however this only for the side entrance. Unless you get a bit imaginative there is no real porch area for storing wet stuff or kitchen bits and bobs.

The tent would not pack down into its original bag although I think this may be a general issue with tents anyway rather than specific to this model.

Having said all this you cannot really fault what you get for the price. If you are not sure whether camping is for you but would like to try it out with a minimal outlay then for the same price as a weekend in a static or a weekend glamping you can get this tent. This is why I have given it a rating of 8 out of 10. If you are already serious about your camping then you will probably not be reading the reviews for this model anyway.

Have just got home from a weekend away in this great tent bought for £210 at MFC Supplies Sale in Eastbourne. I would give it 9 out of 10 as the material seems rather fine, but I assume it's strong enough not to rip. And as the front 'J' door does not zip at the bottom my little King Charles Spaniel will be able to squeeze through the bottom once he realises so he has to remain tied even in the tent which was the only disappointment but not really a problem. The whole tent is very heavy in its bag for me to lug about so I am going to be removing the rods to carry separately next time. No bother putting it up though, all the poles are exactly the same so no wasted time measuring. Should have remembered to peg the front of it before I pulled it up as once it was up it fell down on me as the 'feet' walked backwards. Hehe, well it's been two years since I put up a tunnel tent.SO much room inside it's indeed like a garage, we fitted a blow up sofa and chair, and a folding chair and Regatta camp kitchen in with ease. In fact you could seat six to eight in comfort round a dining table in there I think. I went mad and bought the fitted carpet for around £70 as well and no regrets about it as is gorgeous underfoot - lovely and padded - well worth it as it gives the tent a luxury feel. The tension rods do a good job too and you can hang a reading light on one side which is a lot nicer than a central light. Thoroughly enjoyed the view through the panoramic windows all round the front (which was why I was attracted to this tent), and it took me and my 11 year old about an hour to put up and an hour to take down. It might have been quicker but he wasn't much help really and I did most of it myself with only a little help from another camper. I agree with the other poster that it's vital to make sure the front door is zipped shut before pegging out and tensioning up, or it won't close again! I think this tent is supremely comfy for three, and fine also for five if some are children. On a wet day there is plenty of space for kids to find a corner and the light aspect of the blue and silver version means that the tent is never gloomy even if it clouds over.

Initially chose this design because of the full utilisation of floor area due to upright front end where door is.Very pleased with overall design but have learnt how best to pitch[must open door before lifting inserted poles into upright position] to prevent a vacuum being created inside which stresses poles when spacing poles out.Loads of living space and bedroom options with plenty of height throughout.Stood up to very heavy rain and strong winds with no problems.

Just back from our 4/5 trip with this amazing tent so easy to put up just me and partner in less than 1 hour have it erected and sorted. We have erected it in all kinds of weather and never had any problems with it would highly recommend because of all space also. Also easily taken down just a little more difficult in windy conditions but all in all we love it

Just returned from our third trip of the year in our Invader 600 and I'm still loving it!

Having done a week in Cornwall earlier in the year with two friends, I would seriously doubt it is a viable 6 berth . Whilst we had plenty of room in the lounge area, getting two double airbeds in the main bedroom was impossible! It would definitely have been easier with two couples (1 double bed in each bedroom area) rather than 1 couple & 2 friends!

Head height is a real plus, my partner is 6'4' and accessing the tent and standing up inside is no problem. I've had to repair a couple of elasticated peg rings but suspect that was due to the strain of trying to accommodate two airbeds during our Cornwall trip!

I splashed out and bought the carpet, which my partner thought an unnecessary luxury . He's now changed his mind! Next on my shopping list is a canopy & windjammer plus or maybe extension . Watch this space!

Excellent tent for 2/3 people who like their space!

I put this tent up myself in less than 1 hour and have it fully set up in 1hour and a half. I don't have problems with poles, just take your time and don't stress the structure. People tend to think tents go up without thought, take your time and you get quicker. If you try and put most large tents up in adverse condition you are going to get problems, this is not a tent that you would put up on a very windy day/night anyway. It has never leaked and has stood up to windy, wild and wet nights on a camp site (3 months erected)in South Yorkshire . This weekend it was used in Much Wenlock and was set up by myself and my wife in less than 1 hour. On Saturday it absolutely chucked it down again no leaks. I only give it 9 out 10 because I think that it is not a 6 berth tent. Overall for the money I paid brilliant.

I bought one of these new in March this year and used it for 3 nights at Verwood CCC site in Dorset. It is a simple design tunnel tent with four outer fibre and two inner steel poles with connecting shock cording. As per many tents, the flysheet is pulled out over the ground and the four poles are inserted into the sleeves of the flysheet. Now this is where the fun bit starts. The fibre poles are very thick, about 10-12mm diameter and as a result they are very reluctant to bend and engage the pins that are sown to the groundsheet. Extreme care must be taken when doing this, as this is a budget tent and it tears very easily. There is only about 20inches of pole exposed at the bottom of the flysheet sleeving after arching which makes for a lot of tension in the material, so again be weary of causing accidental seam tear damage. When pulling the arches up it really needs three people, one on either side of the arches and one on the tunnel end guy-ropes. Make sure the door is open slightly as when you try to erect the tent it will cause a vacuum and suck the tent inwards.

I also found it difficult to get an even tension on the groundsheet as there is no slack in the design whatsoever.

It rained on the first day of our stay and we had three separate leaks. Two in the seams and one through the roof panel.

On the positive side, it is a roomy tent with side and end doors. The windows let in plenty of light and the whole tent is very light and easy to carry / stow in a car.

To summarise, the quality is patchy on the Invader 6 and I will buy steel pole frame tents in future. I returned the tent and bought a Montana 6.

The morale of the story is as usual.

You get what you pay for.

On first set up thought I had purchased a car garage it was huge, setup was easy built in ground sheet and bedrooms obvious fixings helped enormously. Full head height a delight as am unable to stoop due to disabled problems, ease of use and a side door as well + bit in stowage of those small things that tend to get lost ie: keys, wallets, leaflets and the like. A perfect tent for our use the only reason I give a 9 out of ten is perhaps my fault as a extension flysheet would make it perfect and I am yet t purchase one

I without reserve, highly recommend this tent as the best on the market to quality, space and practicality

Bought this tent in a sale a couple of months ago and used it in July for a family holiday. It stood up to some quite high winds and a fair bit of rain with no leaks! Plenty of space for everyone but wouldn't like to try having 6 sleeping in it. Having had a vis-a-vis before it was a little strange having the bedrooms close together but this caused no problems at all. Living area is very spacious with loads of room for storage. We had a table and four chairs in ours with plenty of space to move around when the weather wasn't great. All in all we are very happy with this tent and are considering buying the footprint and the carpet next!
