Bought this tent as our previous one did not have enough living space to be safe with 2 boisterous kids running in and out.

I managed to get it at an excellent price of Ł229 (brand new) due to the model being long discontinued (I didn't buy it until 2010).

The layout is great, providing 3 bedroom pods and masses of living space (approx 2.5m X 6m) which gives kids plenty of play area if the weather is bad. The tent also has all of the usual bells and whistles - lamp hanging points in all rooms, 3 EHU access points, mesh vents on 2 of the three doors etc.

We have experienced no rain ingress despite heavy thunderstorms during our last expedition in this tent.

We have noted that there is a small amount of condensation on the roof first thing in the mornings window despite the tent having good ventilation generally.

We have not experienced high winds in it, bit with it's steel pole construction, I am confident that the tent would handle it (within reason).

Pitching the tent is simple enough but does take a while due to the size of it. I would recommend that the supplied DVD is watched before attempting pitching, a copy of which is available on 'youtube,' see: http://www.Youtube.Com/watch?v=go8GRKL5Tyk

Taking the tent down is also simple and the canvas fits so easily into its bag that I always have room for a footprint groundsheet and spare rock pegs etc.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Vango have discontinued such a brilliant tent which also fits within pitches where a 6m X 6m tent limit is imposed by some campsites!

We bought this tent after trying out 3 other tents in various designs and decided to keep this one as it worked best for us. We are a family of five and just love the size and space of this tent. A little difficult to put up initially but gets easier with practice. It has a huge living area great for when it rains and 3 seperate double rooms. We often leave the middle room out as our 3 kids like to sleep in one pod so this gives us even more floor space. We have also purchased a large vango sun canopy which extends the porch area, again great for muddy shoes and wellies. The only down side is the bedroom pockets tore after the 2nd time we used it. This tent has withstood some seriously wet weather and has not leaked once and the sewn in groundsheet is a huge hit. This is the best Ł239 spent and we bought this in May 2008. Well done vango.

Having read some information on these I was very impressed with all the positive comments. I was amazed when it arrived as to the weight of the poles and they are quite difficult to lug around, however the tent itself comes in a wheeled bag which is really handy, The bag is also quite large so was not to much of an issue to actually get the tent back in.

Was really impressed with the space and it withstood a really heavy rainfall and high winds no problem at all, the only spot of water we had was where the wind had blown up the groundsheet and spilt the dogs water!

It has 3 zipped flaps to put a EHU cable through in various different positions depending on where you pitch the tent and the colour coded poles we’re very handy, Also the bedroom pods are very roomy and are also colour coded so you get them in the right anchor points

There is enough space in each bedroom for a double airbed and a little bit of space each side and each bedroom pod has a hook for hanging a light in,

You can easily fit a standard size travel cot in the pods.

We was also very impressed with the huge clear skylight above the living area, along with the 2 large windows it gave a big feeling of space and at night time both the skylight window and the front windows had curtains built into the tent you can close off.

There is also a nice touch with the storage pockets in on the side of the middle bedroom pods for the living area.

We found the tent very easy to put up and down thanks to the colour coded poles and it took us about 50 minutes the first time from getting it out the bag to the last peg putting in.

Bought one after my Cedar Creek turned out to be a bit small for four of us. Not the easiest tent in the world to erect but after a couple of goes is much easier. Nice roomy tent three good size bedrooms. Well worth the Ł250 paid.

We bought this tent after reading some of the reviews in here. We also looked at it in comparison to other tents at various tent places and it felt roomy especially for the children in wet weather!

We have put it up twice so far - once as a trial run in our garden (only just managed that!) and for our first camping trip this Summer. It took upto an hour to put up and position as we wanted, but once up it proved to be sturdy, dry and just what we wanted for space! It withstood torrential rain and almost gale force winds with hardly any buffeting around - a great advantage of the heavy steel frame. The sewn in groundsheet was nice and easy to brush clean with the added bonus of the fold down door flaps.

The only downside was that the mesh vents did let small drops of water though, but then that wasn't helped by the rain and wind conditions at the time. We hadn't put the ropes on for these at that point (but did afterwards) which helped following this. This did mean that when taking the tent down eventually we noticed wet areas between the ground sheet between the main tent and the pods, but that just needed a dry off before completely taking it down to pack away.

Taking the tent down was easy and folded well back into it's bag (hurray!). It's size and bulk did mean that it took up roof rack space that we had wanted to use for bikes for the week, so maybe next time for longer trips with cycling involved we may have to consider a trailer for equipment!

For the Ł250 we spent for it it was fab value and we are very happy we bought it and intend to use over again!

We have just bought this tent ( Sep 08) and have tried it out in lovely Edale (Peak District). Overall we are very pleased with our choice. As this is now out of production and being sold off for around Ł250 we think it is really good value for money. The tent endured heavy down pours and strong winds. The only ingress of water was through the window vents. We realised you could close these vents by removing the carbon poles supporting the vent canopies and using the spare ropes pull the flaps down tight over the vents. A lot of thought has gone into the design of this tent and it is surprising it has been discontinued. The only thing that concerns us is the integral groundsheet does not look very strong so we are going to purchase the footprint sheet to place underneath it(which will add insulation)and some easy tread carpet for the inside.

It took about an hour to put up and around 20 mins to pack away, although we strongly recommend noting how it was folded the first time you take it out of the bag so you know how to fold it back up again!

In conclusion a great tent which we look forward to using many times in the future.

We have only pitched this tent twice so far - once for a 'trial' and now for a long weekend trip. We booked two other trips but my DS was ill both times and we had to cancel. The weather conditions were dry but a bit windy for the first 2 days and then heavy showers on the last night/ morning. The tent had no problems with those conditions, as you would expect. It did take us quite a long time for 2 adults to pitch it correctly (well over an hour) but we're novices and I'm sure we'll get quicker with practice. The pitching video was very helpful and it was clear what we had to do - just a bit awkward because of the size of it (footprint around 6m x 5m). That said, we loved the space inside. There were only three of us on this trip (2 adults and a child) but it would still be very comfortable for a family of 5/6. Each of the 2 outer bedrooms are 180 cm wide - as wide as some pods designated as 3 man and the central bedroom is 160 cm wide - enough for a double air bed and a small bag at the side. Then, in the 'living' area, we had plenty of space for a small cupboard and the camp kitchen, table and chairs (when it was wet outside), plus still space to walk around. This is really why we bought such a big tent - to give us all that indoor space in poor weather, even if we had one of my DS's friends with us. The tent has got loads of good features. It is very well ventilated and we didn't have any problems with condensation. The bedrooms have all got a mesh window on the inners and then overhanging 'window porches' on the fly sheet that provide privacy with ventilation or the possibility to shut them off completely. The 2 big front windows also have a mesh section at the top of them and the curtain inside is in 2 sections so that you can have it all open, just the mesh bit or just the window bit. The three big doors made the living area seem very airy and also have mesh sections and there is also a big roof window that lets in lots of light. The only problem with that was that I wasn't tall enough (at 5'6) to do up/ undo the blind for it - i.E. Good ceiling hight, too! The bath tub SIG groundsheet was great and it was useful to be able to drop it at the doors for cleaning. We didn't have EHU but there is an EHU entry point and we also found a loop to hang a lantern on inside. The porch kept rain from getting in the main door but wouldn't be long enough to cook under in the rain (but then the tent is so large it isn't really necessary and there is always the option of adding a sun canopy to it).

On the down side: on our trial pitch, we found it difficult to get one side of the tent completely flat to the floor, which meant that there was a strain on that side once the inners were added. This was easier to deal with the second time (but still not quite right) and I now think it was due to us not pulling the tensioning straps tight enough before lifting it from the ground. Secondly, the groundsheet has now got quite a few little white specks over it, as though the coating has started to come off. I'm not sure exactly what this is or how much of a problem it is - or even if it is because of something we have done. It is for these 2 reasons that I haven't given it a 10/10. Also, it seems as though Vango have stopped selling it after only one year and I don't know why, as I have only ever read good reviews of it.

This is a very big and heavy tent (as it has steel poles). It takes up much of the boot of our car and is difficult to clean and dry once home unless you have got enough space to pitch it in the garden. Because of that, it is probably a bit too big for our small family but we do love it nevertheless and are really looking forward to a longer trip with it.

Bought this tent at the beginning of this year as was bigger than our previous one and the family grew!

Have had 3 outings in it. Overall it is a nice tent, loads of room in both the sleeping and the living areas. There is plenty of room for sleeping 2 in each of the bed tents plus all the clothes/toys etc. You need.

Have had some particularly wet and windy times and the tent stood up to them easily.

Only niggles are the first week the groundsheet started peeling (we don't wear shoes in it and there was no unusual use), the second week the roof poles wouldn't come apart very well and when they did the elastic joining things snapped. The third week we had to take it down when it was slightly wet but water was coming in the ceiling. Have gone back to where we bought it and they are replacing it this weekend. We wouldn't have got a replacement if we didn't think it was good enough.

Right, Just got back from ten days Very bad weather in our first trip with this tent.

I love it, despite some problems, which I'll get out of the way. The way the stitching on the rear cowling's has been done caused water to run through the seams down the back of tent and in through mesh vents. This was luckily sorted by some Fabsil. Also if your not quite sorted on getting it tightly pitched rain can come in through the side doors as the sig risers aren't tight enough.

Other than that I still love it! The space it has is excellent even with a kid in each pod, clothes and toys everywhere pouring rain keeping us inside.

It seems very simple to pitch, though we still haven't got the knack of getting it totally tight. And it's also the first tent that we've been able to get back in the original bag whilst on the campsite.

For a family it's ideal although it is big and weighty when packaged (looks like it'll be a trailer for the next trip!)

Bought this tent in june this year mainly because of these reviews and the price we got it for (half price in Argos!) It has lived up to the reviews and more. We'd never been in a tent before (used to own a caravan but got fed up of towing) and must admit we were a bit wary , imagining being damp and wet and cold all the time, how wrong we were. This tent is fab wev'e been away four times now in varying weather and its been great. We're not so good at putting it up yet and we do need more than two but I suppose that will come with experience! We loved this tent so much my brother has been and bought the exact same tent and were all away this weekend fingers crossed on the weather! If you want a large sturdy family tent this is the one for you.
