Have to say I love this tent, goes up in no time at all, packs away just as quick.
I picked our tent up secondhand on eBay and I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near as good as it is.
Plenty of room in it for the 3 of us but we have slept 6 in it with just as much ease.
Lots of little pockets to keep things safe in, and the sewn in ground sheets keeps everything nice and dry.

Bought ours second hand and it has been well worth its money(Vango diablo 400), had numerous trips away in all weather and it withstands no problem, stitched in groundsheet is great for when the kids are small and the weather outside is not upto much as they can play on the floor ,very spacious, large porch area is great for cooking, will be very reluctant to change when the time comes, only thing I would change is to have a stitched in groundsheet in the porch, otherwise great tent.

I love this tent it was really easy to assemble and although we were pelted by rain all weekend the tent stayed dry which is all you can ask for when camping! Love the look as well and because it had a hallway area it meant spending large amounts of time stuck sheltering from the rain it still felt spacious

I love my Diablo 400 and don't know why it was discontinued (my model is not the XP) as it is such a cosy tent. It housed two people for nine days in total comfort the Lake District without letting in the rain and more recently it successfully sheltered me, my elderly parents and my dog. My parents are now open to the prospect of camping again so this is quite a seal of approval!
The porch is big enough to cook in whilst still leaving plenty of room to move and the sewn-in groundsheet in the living area means that you can chill out in the knowledge that the creepy crawlies are kept at bay. The bedrooms are supposed to fit two people each but in reality if you are using camp or air beds then they each fit one person with room for their odds and ends. Two people can also be accommodated in the living area though in which it is possible to stand up unless you are over 6feet tall. There are loads of ventilation panels and insect nets on all windows and doors apart from the main porch door which is outside the SIG area. It is highly robust in reasonably strong winds owing to its geodesic design, millions of pegging points and numerous guy ropes and the SIG means that it is much less draughty than its non-SIG cousins.
The only irritating points are a) that it takes two people who know what they're doing about 40mins to erect and b)that the inner is pitched first which of course is no good in the rain.
If you can handle these glitches though and are thinking about buying a second-hand model then I can't recommend it strongly enough - particularly for longer breaks where comfort is important.

First time of use was 17th to 19th sept pitching is definitely a two person task. Only took us 40 minutes, weather was rainy most of the weekend but even though the tent ended up sat in a large puddle of water the inside remained completely dry, very impressed with the whole tent, plenty of room. Best tent I have used to-date, only one change I would make is to have a bath tub ground sheet in the porch area. Mine is the Diablo 400 not the XP

This is my first tent and to be honest the only criticism that I have is that it pitches inner first. Once up this tent is faultless. Fully waterproof and condensation free. I am delighted with tent. Comfortable for 4 persons, great living area and plenty of windows and vents with built in mosquito nets on all windows and entrances/ exits.

We have just returned from a trip using this tent for the first time after buying it second hand, used once, last year for £90 (incidentally ours is the 400, not the XP). We have not failed to be impressed, and in most cases our expectations were exceeded.
As said before this is an extremely spacious tent, the lounge area comfortably accommodated our table, two stools and two collapsible chairs without it even feeling remotely cramped. Vango's attention to detail was everywhere you looked, from the zippered cable entry point for EHU, to the row of velcro fasteners leading from this, up the wall, to a ceiling hanging point, enabling you to neatly store any leads running up to it. We bought a 400XP carpet, which while not a perfect fit, was as good as we were going to get.
The bedroom pod took a good size double airbed, and has handy pockets both at the foot and head of the bed for books/mobile phones etc. The only downside, as mentioned before, is that if you need the loo in the night you have to climb over the person next to you to get out. But if, like my other half, they sleep like a starfish, then they kind of deserve this for making you sleep in the wedge created by the wall of the tent!
The other pod we used as storage, but in hindsight would have bought a wardrobe of low/wide proportions rather than tall/thin as it didn't fit in as well as we'd hoped because of the slant of the pod wall (obviously not a criticism of the tent, just preventing you making the same mistake).
The tent was exceptionally light and airy, with windows by the truck load. Just when you'd thought you'd opened all there were, you found another couple!. Windows are either plastic (in the porchway) or mesh (in the bedroom pods), or a combination of both (in the main tent). Plastic windows have roll up 'curtains', while mesh ones have the option of turning the curtain into a small awning, allowing ventilation, but preventing rain from coming in.
Both the front, back and the bedroom pods have full size mesh doors sewn into the main doors, a boon on hot days by allowing ample breeze without the bugs! .
The porch area was big enough for our kitchen kit, and the addition of a skylight was a brilliant idea. The main porch door can be used as an awning, and the addition of a windbreak gave an ideal cooking area, even in inclement weather.
The only reason we have given it a 9/10 and not full marks was because it's pitched inner tent first and of the lack of internal hanging points (limited to one central one from the middle of the main tent), but to be honest the design of the tent and sloping walls meant that they would have been fairly useless anyway!
We cannot praise this tent enough, it is robust, striking to look at and fabulously made. If you choose to buy one, you won't be disappointed.

I bought this tent about 5 minutes before Millets was about to shut one day, after we had been out for the day and our previous tent had been damaged beyond repair in a storm. The sales guy told us this was the best one in the shop for our needs and he was not wrong.
This tent has been brilliant from the start. As other people have said, for the first few goes of putting it up, it is a bit tricky but now we have done it a few times it is ok with 2 people.
Every campsite we go to, there are people admiring our tent and they are amazed how solid and spacious it is. The 2 sleeping pods are easily big enough for a double inflatable air bed with a bit of storage at either end. The living area is huge(far bigger than any of our family's tents) and the porch area is great. It means that if the weather is a bit iffy, all cooking can be done I here and there is a lot of handy storage compartments.
I absolutely love this tent and will be absolutely gutted when we have to buy another one, although it is that well built I can't see this happening for a good few years.

I LOVE MY TENT, THE DIABLO 400 IS VERY SPACIOUS. This year we went to scotland at the time of the bad weather , of non stop rain, we cooked every morning and evening in the porch area with no problems at all,the porch area housed our kitchen unit, with stove at oneside and boots ,potsetc on the others ide. In the evening time all 4 adults sat in the lounge area with a large table and 4 chairs comfortably, their was ample space for our clothes, we have a carpet in the lounge area which makes it warmer on those colder nights. The best thing was all the fly nets around the tent, each doorway of the internal tent and bedroom pods has the flynets which was a godsend in Scotland, as anyone who's been to Scotland will know the big issue with the mozzies. The bedroom pods fit a double thick airbed in nicely. We have just purchased the Vango extension canopy , this fits on the front porch and has clear windows, it does take two people to put it up and after a few times you have pitched it takes approximately 40 minutes to put up that's with carpet, beds made and pegged. Our friends that came with us to Scotland liked the diablo 400 that much are buying 1 for themselves

I LOVE my tent - ok, in the early days of camping with 2 small children on my own its was sometimes a bit of a chore getting the thing up - especially if it was a bit windy. There is a tricky stage requiring at least 2 adults when you have inserted the poles through the inner sheet and have to get the whole thing standing and dome-like for want of a better term.
But, once you have passed this stage, the vango diablo is a dream tent - it doesn't fail to inspire envy every site I go because of its spacious interior, sewn in ground sheet, good quality windows all with fly sheets, the amount of hanging shelves inside and also, my pride and joy, the hanging shelves in the porch. Sixteen of them, which is fantastic for keeping all those essential camping bits off the ground in one accessible place. I love it. I don't know if the later models have the hanging shelves so its worth checking. It is heavy when put away in its bag but you know what, you have a strong, spacious palace of a tent once its up. Great for families but you need more than one adult to erect.
