I originally bought the Tigris 400 complete with side tunnel extension. Which was great but the extension didn't fit properly so the following year 2011 I upgraded to the 600 but went for the 2010 model so as to keep the same colour 'smoke & ocean'. Also we had already bought the windbreaks so everything had to match.

Some reviewers have commented on the tunnel extension not being watertight but its never going to be because the water runs down the tent and inside the awning. It's only a problem if you use a ground sheet right up to the tent. If you pull it back a bit the water runs underneath and away.

Like everyone else the only niggle was the side porch pole putting too much strain on the door but this was overcome by shortening the pole as others have done. We've used it loads of times for weekend trips and fortnights, without any major issues other than ripping the inner tent near the zip which I've sewn up and works fine. The tent is spacious as we've never used the extra sleeping pod and well built. It's withstood gale force winds and thunder storms without any leaks or fear of it blowing away. Although the awning can be a bit scary in strong winds and did rip once where the elastic comes out at the top. Again sewn back up and working fine.

It's a shame Vango stopped making this tent as I think it's one of the best. If they'd made the updated XL version in 'smoke & ocean' I would have probably bought the 800 as I think they did make some improvements with larger windows and fully zipped fly screens on the doors.

All in all a very decent tent and highly recommended. If your looking for a good second hand tent then I would definitely check out the Tigris, loads on Ebay.

We've had this tent for over 3 years now, used it for four camping trips. It's pretty easy to put up and down. Packs away relatively easily and is pretty light weight.

We use it for our family of five, which means we have to use both inners, the bigger inner tent is pretty spacious, the smaller one is really only for sleeping in. Using both inners doesn't leave a massive amount of living space, OK if the weather is good, but cramped if you have to do all cooking etc in the tent. Because of the shape of the tent there isn't really anywhere you can set up a cooker without it being in the way of a door.

Ours is starting feel old now, which it isn't really. Water occasionally finds its way up through the main groundsheet, especially bad last year when we were camping in very wet weather in Cornwall. This year we also noticed water coming though the flysheet. Initially spray was being forced through by the force of a torrential downpour, but later in the week we noticed that even dew was dripping through in places. Many of the poles have become bent out of shape slightly, and one snapped last year, and had to be replaced. The piece of re-enforced material that one of the hanging organisers is supposed to attach to has broken, and we have not been able to repair it with duct-tape, so that organiser is no longer usable.

Great tent, quick and easy to erect, equally quick to take down. Are a family of 2 adults and 2 children and we bought it thinking the children could sleep in the two man pod as they got older. As others have said, it is not really a proper two man pod and is a bit claustrophobic. We have used it in some wild and windy conditions where other tents have been flattened, and it stood up well with no damage. We have the side extension which is great in good weather but as other reviewers have said, is not great in rain as it doesn't fit snugly to the tent, no matter what we do! We bought a separate groundsheet for the extension and it does make a useful storage space.

It has served us well with smaller children but I think we may have to upgrade as they get older.

Bought this tent brand new with footprint in a sale for Ł199 as an upgrade from our previously owned second hand Vango Vista 800dlx.

The reason for upgrading was primarily the built in groundsheet as my wife wanted this as she felt more secure from 'bugs' and to stop our husky potentially trying to get out!

We have also purchased the side canopy which is a brilliant extension where our table/cooking area is housed leaving the tent inside to be our daughters play area.

The only downside of the canopy was we didnt feel it was an 'extension of the tent' but rather as advertised, an additional canopy. Perhaps we didn't fit this correctly being our first time out but it wasnt fitted snug to the tent and allowed rain to run inside and also it is not a fitted groundsheet with the canopy either.

There is also a bit of a wind tunnel generated as the canopy extends over the tent and has an open pocket that wind can channel through. We also had a little puddle forming above the tent where the rain was collecting and not freely running away, Agai this could be due to the way in which we pitched it.

The large bedroom pod easily houses our double airbed,single bed and a sleeping bag for the dog to sleep on, and we use the opposite bedroom pod for storage that can be zipped up to keep it tidy, should you have guests!

Wouldnt say the 2man bedroom pod would house two adults as one would be almost sleeping with their face against the canvas! (this is where the big difference with the 800 we had previous, as the 800 had two- 2 man bedroom that would readily accept a double airbed each.)

Having used our tent for the first time this weekend (pitched in torrential rain easily!) we can say it stood up to strong winds and severe rain with ease.

A good value tent at a great price in our eyes.

This is a great tent.

The main sleeping compartment easily fits a double airbed and a travel cot. Without the second compartment there is a huge amount of room in the rest of the tent - enough to have a table and chairs set up and high enough to stand up in most of it.

On the most recent recent trip we had high winds and driving rain the tent did not leak at all and remained completely sturdy. It is pretty quick and easy to put up and take down and dries out very quickly.

I would not hesitate to recommend this tent to anyone.

Just brilliant. When we were looking for a tent we looked at a few different ones finally picking the Vango 600 and an enclosed side canopy. We are over the moon with the tent. We have just got back from Cornwall were we camped 2-9 June in the terrible 50-70 mph winds and non stop lashing rain. The tent didnt batter an eyelid. We went out for the day and on our return we joked that it wouldnt be there. How wrong we were. We had 2 nice days the rest it rained, we didnt have one single leak. The only thing that broke was the loop which connects the inner sleeping compartment to the tent. That was only because one of our clumsy kids slipped of his airbed and used the divide to help break his fall. The side extention held up very well, I did think it may have lifted or bowed as there are only 6/8 points without guide ropes atht fasten it to the ground. Would I recommend to a friend, most definitely in fact I would recommend them to strangers as well. You wont go wrong with a Vango Tigris.

We bought our Vango in the summer of 2010 as new campers. I had previously broken my back in a small, cheap tent on our first ever trip. Having survived that we immediately bought the Vango Tigris 600 and have hammered the trips ever since.

This is a light and spacious tent. We have invested in the footprint, carpet and side awning and all have added to the quality of the use.

As a family of 3 we have the luxury of not including the third bedroom and this gives you an enormous amount of space. So much so I am tempted to get a travel wardrobe to avoid creased clothes!

There are some negatives that have been well documented by others. It does get hot, but that is inevitable! The side porch rods do indeed massively stress the porch canopy. On the last trip I didn`t bother putting it up but then the canopy was constantly flapping in the wind. I will follow the tips from other members and shorten the poles (cheers!).

My first Vango had split seams on one of the room pods but there was no problem in exchanging!

Pitching is very good, 20 mins between 2 of us. Takes probably three times as long to peg out and hang the bedrooms and all accessories.

This tent has had extremes of weather and has coped with them all.

Our last trip saw it exposed to strong Welsh winds and it survived! Vango claim that this is due to the interior tension strap system and I have to concur.

I have every confidence in this tent now. So much so that when I am tempted to 'upgrade' to an Outwell I resist due to not wishing to spend 4 times more when I have a tent that has proved it`s strength.

Wholeheartedly recommend. A good tent at a good price.

Bought one to replace a Royal Memphis 5 but giving me the room of a Suncamp sport that was destroyed in a Welsh force 8. Has turned out to be a brilliant purchase got it up by myself in about 25 mins whilst drinking tea. All those days camping in Wales and staying on the coast helped. Roomy, draught free, well made. Only prob was packing when wet.Groundsheet attached to fly sheet did not really help on packing when wet. But hey well worth the money it cost, really happy and think I will stay with Vango Brand.

We have used our Tigris 600 for several camping trips for a family of 5 (3 children under the age of 12). As our children get older, we may consider getting a bigger tent as the smaller bedroom is rather compact. It is easy to put up and take down, and holds up pretty well in very violent windy thunderstorms! We have bought an awning which is a useful area for cooking etc and leaves a large space in the tent if needed.

We are very pleased with this tent, and would definitely recommend.

Brilliant all round tent. Easy to put up and down - in all weathers. Great size for 2 adults + 2 kids. We had an extension, so kept that for the food / cooking area, which meant we had a massive indoor area for relaxing, playing games ( when weather was not so good) and 'drying' towels etc after showers and beach days.

All in all a great reasonably priced tent.
