Now our Vango Tigris 800 is over 5 years old, I feel it is worthy of a review. We love it. We bought it when our children were very young and it has accompanied us on some wonderful trips and holidays.
We bought an 8 berth tent to give us more space while we are away, though it gives us scope to invite others along.
It is fairly easy to put up and my wife and I enjoy setting it up - we often have a bit of a laugh.
We've replaced several tent poles, though some of these had been over tensioned due to the tent not being de-tensioned properly the previous time! There are a couple of small rips here and there, but generally it is in good shape. We've also waterproofed it a few times.
On our last holiday we had 24 hours of rain which was fairly heavy at times and it stood firm and kept us dry whilst others suffered a little around us.
We've also bought the porch extension which is a useful thing to have and gives valuable extra space.
We had been considering looking at the inflatable poled tents but have been advised that these are not as good as they appear.

I absolutely love this tent. We are a family of 4 with a dog, and the space in this is perfect for us,we have had other tents in the past but none of which have compared to this one. It is 5 pole so very simple to put up,We have used this in very windy conditions and providing you pitch it correctly you shouldn't have a problem. The sewn in ground sheet is fantastic as is the versatility of the doors (3 options). The only little thing is the pod sizes,we have a double height double bed and it fits into the pod with no wiggle room, I couldnt see anyone actually having 8 people in this, but apart from that, for us, its great.

We are really happy with this tent a it is large enough for all our needs. It is very easy to put up and has head height in all rooms. The only problem we have found with it is that the tent poles can break easily and if the tent is not up correctly this can make the interior bedrooms a tight fit which then can rip easily. This is our first tent and in all been very happy.

We love our Tigris, have used 4 times, once with our 4 children and labrador (yes they are hard work but lots of space in this tent)the other times just adults and a dog, easy to put up and take down it's so roomy. We love being able to lift up the end and BBQ there. We have the awning and that is great also for cooking and storage when we are all in the tent. Fab tent and I think if we don't buy a van we'll buy another Vango. We also have the footprint groundsheet only sorry we don't have the carpet

Our first tent, which we have now used 3 times, from a two night weekend stay to ten nights. Very easy to put up and there is plenty of room.
We stayed in it with high winds without any problems. The tension bands hold the tent securely in high winds.
The only negative was the tension on one of the side doors was quite tight and during our second trip it came apart. We sent it back to Vango and they replaced the zip with a double zip without any problems, free of charge. The double zip is much better now and hasn't caused any problems since.
On the whole a great family tent.

Used this tent for the first time last year in Wales as a trial run. Then we experienced the absolute worst of the weather (wind and rain) and had no problems at all. In fact we also bought the side porch which we were told not to use in Windy conditions. All in all a remarkably secure unit.
Having now used it 'properly' in France for two weeks I can only endorse my previous thoughts. However this time, we didn't experience the wild weather, in fact temperatures of 100 degrees plus!
Took a family of 6 (all adults) and space was never an issue. Erected the tent in about 20-30 minutes and the 'furniture' completed in a further 30 mins. The porch is a valuable add-on and housed all of the usual cooking/catering/kitchen'esque facilities. Inside the room available for sleeping is more than ample, but more importantly the room available for living is humungous. Not that we ever had to rely on it as most of the time was spent outside in the heat. Lots of little spaces and pockets for small storage and the ventilation systems worked well (when there was a breeze.)
Finally, the whole tent was cleared, collapsed, and packed in a couple of hours on our return. One bit of advice. Remembering how you unpacked it makes packing it a whole lot easier (lesson learned!)
This unit would have secured a 10/10 rating but for one small issue. The pegs supplied are not as robust as they coud be, but for a couple of quid we'll get some decent ones.

This is our third year in our reliable tent that has stood the test of time and all weathers and never let us down will definitely be buying a Vango again in the future, plenty of room in bedrooms and living area the carpet gives it that finishing touch and the footprint extra protection which I would advise to purchase these extra items.

This tent is fantastic we have just had our 3rd holiday in it and has withstood all weathers it is quick to put up so we are thinking of a couple of weekends away as well in the holidays there are 2 adults and 3 children aged 7, 4 and 2 we use the double room and 1 single room for sleeping and the other room for the clothes which leaves a massive area in the centre in case of any bad weather would highly recommend this tent to everyone

It's not easy to find a tent which sleeps a family of 7 in comfort, has a big enough living space to accommodate all of us on rainy days, and doesn't take hours to pitch or pack up. The Tigris 800 is perfect for our needs. Five children/teens can sleep across the big bedroom so we don't need one of the small bedrooms at all, which leaves us lots of storage space. After 2 years and 15 trips in all weathers we have a small tear (more a seam pull) at the end of the zip in one bedroom, and the rest of the tent is as good as the day we first erected it. It rocks a bit when it's blowy but it is a tunnel so not unexpected: and the cross braces inside do stabilise it well. Very pleased and would recommend a Tigris 800 to anyone.

Just back from Isle of Wight after camping over Jubilee Bank Holiday. Great spacious tent (we also have side extension) 2 adults, 4 kids and large dog and still space to breathe!. Had some really wet and windy weather which the tent stood up to well. Did flap and move a fair amount in the wind and was quite noisy. Small canopy pole over side soor is a very tight fit and does pull on the door zips which did concern me. Think I will trim it down a bit before next trip.

Manufacturer's Description
The Vango Yukon range of tents has been replaced by the Vango Tigris range - which in turn are very similar to the Nevada Range already produced by Outwell. The Tigris has a very simple 5-pole fiberglass pole structure but one that gives great head height and therefore one that gives a light and airy feel. There are also flexible bedroom arrangements and storage options a plenty plus three entrance options. The tent frame is constructed with Powerflex fiberglass poles, a Protex 3000 Polyester flysheet (3000mm hydrostatic head protection) and as is the norm these days, the groundsheet is fully sewn-in to keep out unwanted pests and draughts. The other key features of the tent include a waterproof exterior storm skirt, flysheet first pitching, 2+2+4 (with divider) sleeping compartments, colour coded poles, TBS tension band system for extra strengthening in adverse weather, 10,000mm HH internal polyester groundsheet, cable entry point and tidies, mesh double doors, mesh vents, pelmet and inner tent pockets, 'Crystal Clear' windows, double zip windows (for vent/light/cover flexibility), breathable fabric inner tent, inner tents and divider can be removed when not in use, parallel zipped front door can be used as a sun canopy, canopy over side door, rain gutter zip covers. Saddle bag and repair kit included. Flame retardant throughout.
Capacity: 8 people Price: £300.00 Total Weight: 25.45g Pack Size: 71x47x32cm Pitching Area: 940x500cm Pitching Time: 20min
