I'm just updating my review as the last one was left only having test pitched it in the garden. First impressions were fabulous.Actual camping in it was completely different!

The first time we camped it was good we had all weather thrown at us. The problem was with the air vents had stretched too much plus when we opened the tent bag for the first time and the bedroom pods had dried mud in them. Go outdoors replaced the tent no questions asked.

2nd tent we only just pulled it out of the bag when we noticed a tear in it so obviously it when straight back. ( this had nothing to do with the tent. We later found out from a member of staff from go outdoors that when you take a faulty tent back they send it off to be repaired then it gets put back out for sale so in reality when you're thinking your buying a brand new tent you are not. )

3rd tent we took it camping for the weekend in Devon in July when we had all the bad rain.We could have saved time and not bothered with the tent as we got just as wet with the tent as we would of without one. I had all of an hour sleep through the night. We had no choice but to pack everything up and 6:30 in the morning in the lashing rain squeeze the tent back into the bag to take back yet again.

The living area roof just poured in. The ground sheet just let water in and the bedroom pods were sopping wet.

Lucky enough we were able to exchange for a different tent as we couldn't risk having another ruined holiday by having a dodgy tent.

The tent is very impressive in size. Perfect for a camping trip when the weather is calm and no rain or wind. Apart from the leaking and the seconds that were meant to be brand new the only thing going for this tent is that it looks good and can be pitched in approx 30-40 mins.

We have now opted for a hi gear voyager 6 we have taken no chances mind. We have waterproofed it ourselves.

We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2kids.

Next time we need to renew the tent I will be paying out for a better make eg. Outwell or Vango.

Happy camping everyone

Manufacturer's Description

An updated version of Hi Gear's extra large tunnel tent, perfect for relaxed family camping holidays.

The Hi Gear Kalahari 10 Elite is a spacious and stable tunnel-style tent with two large partitionable bedrooms in a face-to-face layout, roomy enough for you, your family and all your gear.

Pre-attached high-visibility guylines, reduced pole sleeves, and sewn-in polyethylene groundsheet make pitching the tent quick and easy.

The bedrooms comfortably sleep five at each end of the tent, and have breathable polyester walls. Bedrooms can also be removed, to give you extra storage space, or room for dirty gear.

The huge living space has two large windows and hanging storage pockets to help keep it tidy, organised and liveable. Multiple vents along the roof help air flow throughout the tent.

The sewn-in groundsheet combined with the fire-retardant polyester flysheet (with 4000mm hydrostatic head) give you a fully sealed and ventilated internal environment, so you'll be completely protected from draughts and sustained downpours. The two doors can be propped and extended out to use for extra shelter from rain or stretching the space out for more room if it's sunny.

Other useful features include the water-repellent zips and an electrical cable access point.
