2 Reviews of the Dreamer

By: JohnTerry  Reason: I've used one  Made in: 2010   Rating:

Further to my brief review, an owner has kindly allowed me to upload some images of the Robens Dreamer. The tent works well for 2 people and offers plenty of space and flexibility. I should add that the Dreamer rarely comes up as a used sale item, so, if interested, it's a case of grabbing one while you can.

The Manufacturer's images and description are misleading. Robens did manufacture a tent known, simply, as the Dreamer. It was a three alloy pole hooped tent with an outer footprint of 4500 mm x 2300 mm. Maximum outer height was 1300 mm. Max/min weight of 5.8/5.5 kg.

The Dreamer slept up to 4. The two side entrances were offset, one gave access to the generously sized porch, the other directly to the inner. A similar-looking three-person version was known as the Light Dreamer (a little over a kilo lighter); whilst the next step up was the Sweet Dreamer, a three-person model with sufficient headroom for standing.

Manufacturer's Description

The Dreamer series tunnel design is popular with campers seeking versatile reliable shelter that can stand up to punishment from hard use and the elements over time without breaking the bank. Sleepingthree in the black-out inner tent, the main tent features a durable detachable (toggles on elastic connect to rings on the fly) full-size bath-tub style groundsheet plus a mesh door for comfortable insectfree living inside. Ensuring plenty of light inside and views out, the four large windows in the living area are fitted with interior curtains that close upwards on toggles allowing them to be fully or half open as suits. The door can be raised to form an awning and is backed by a zipped mesh door that complements the tent’s airflow vents. One full mesh door in flysheet.
