This is the best tent we have ever owned,well worth the Ł400 price bracket that we paid,bought from new,so easy to erect .

My husband drives to our destination then he relaxes while I put the tent up,simple not even 5 mins with 2 of you (it takes longer to unload the car and sort where you pitch depending on site!),within 30 mins we are relaxed and ready to enjoy our camping trip,we store our belongings in the bedroom part at the rear of the tent and can easily cope with 2 large and 2 smaller suitcases whilst the front we keep cool box,hamper shoes,food, etc on one side the other side is for the dog,(she even has her own suitcase).

In the evening if it cold or wet we sit on the carpet playing cards or what have you and still have room to manoeuvre about.

It doesn't move or rattle,whistle or leak in strong winds or torrential rain (very common in north Wales!)we have seen tents wrecked by the weather and have even offered a shelter for those unfortunate people,who have all said that they would be purchasing a decent tent like the Guadeloupe not the plastic rain mac they had that had just been totally destroyed.

We will have many more years worth of happy camping with our Guadeloupe and would/have no problem recommending this tent to people asking us about it,as so many have.One couple were so impressed they took photos of it at the new forest and told us that in all of the sites they visited they hadn't seen another canvas tent and took our picture with it.They were going to go and buy one that week.

I've had one of these (with the porch extension) since 1987 and it's still in excellent condition. Bought from Attwells on way up from Dorset to Scotland for its first holiday in the highlands, where it had a baptism of storm and torrential rain. Since then it's been used many times throughout Scotland, England and France and has never let me down regardless of the weather.

In 2009 I used it to live in when working at several music festivals where it attracted a lot of favourable attention, and people found it hard to believe it was over 20 years old. Will be taking it with me again this year. Would thoroughly recommend.

A 21st birthday present and something that I'll be using for many years to come; I love my Guadeloupe.

Very easy to pitch (once you've tied all of the guy ropes on) and once its up it feels as though it's going nowhere.

Quality of materials and build quality seem fantastic. The canvas sides are thick (and heavy) but make the tent seem so solid whilst the SIG feels strong.

The tent seemed dark when I first saw it pitched (indoors at Attwoolls) but when it was outside there was plenty of light. When in the tent it seemed a nice place to be and the layout seemed well thought out. Although it's just one area with a curtain divider the sleeping area was big enough to sleep 4 with plenty of room the other side for a small table and all the other necessary paraphernalia.

We spent most of our time outside the tent (as we always do when camping) so all cooking etc. Was done outside. However, the awning was great, both for a bit of shelter and for hanging lights from for after dark!

Being heavy cotton the tent was warm inside (though my Dad and Bro still froze on night 1. Lesson learnt, next time remember sleeping bags)!

Overall, a highly recommended tent. As I will only really be using it for trips with mates at the moment it seems the perfect size for couples/ small friendly groups, just big enough without being huge.

Oh, and it's always nice to be different!

This tent is fantastic, by far the best tent I have ever used. The lack of an inner tent improves ventilation and living space, the canvas material is just magic. And it just feels inexplicably nice to live in, far superior to nylon rubbish and even traditional canvas frame tents. In the heat, it keeps you cool and in the shade, at night time it keeps you warm and cosy. Another good thing is that even with a powerful lantern on inside the tent, with the windows closed you can't tell from the outside that there is a light on: so ultimate privacy inside the tent at night-time. No-one wants a transparent tent. I can't fault this tent, it has revolutionised my camping experience.

I would recommend this tent and find it perfect for three people. Having returned to canvas after parting with an old and much missed vw campervan, I wanted something practical but with a bit of style and easy to pitch. This tent is a dream to pitch and live in, I found it warm at night yet cool in the daytime sun with a lovely cosy atmosphere. No more flappy nylon for me, this stands up to the worst of British weather and I love the 'no inner tent' style, the open plan gives a nice spacious feel and a more traditional kind of camping.

Having taken up camping after many years away, I wanted a reliable, solid and - dare I say - a traditional cotton tent, that would comfortably cater for two of us, and a Great Dane!

The Guadaloupe does the job perfectly. Having read the instructions once, I pitched it on my own in around 20 minutes (having previously secured the guy ropes provided). Others on the campsite were amazed at how quickly it went up.

Once up, there is plenty of space for the two of us, with ample storage, and, the additional awning makes an excellent wind break and therefore cooking area. (We think we might buy the extra awning to double up).

The second night out it rained all night, and in the morning we noticed the condensation inside - a function of no inner tent, as spotted by others.

But this was it's first outing and the waterproofing was just fine - despite the advice about weathering.

The groundsheet is strong and the front 'door' panels are effective.

I would have liked the zipped window covers beside the door to have been accessible from the inside - but no matter - and I have yet to master the best angles for the guy ropes to eliminate the slight slack I had created (for example, I discovered a small puddle developing on the awning which demanded adjustment)

But I am delighted with the quality, the ease of set-up, and the sheer confidence that this tent exudes. It'll suit us for years to come.As long as I can carry it, that is. At 24Kg, it would be a bit heavy for my wife to heave around.

As has been said - easy to put up/take down. Plenty of room for two. Added side panel makes huge difference to outdoor cooking space. Reason not 10/10 is that we felt it could perhaps benefit from inner for bedroom area, but then would reduce space so it's swings and roundabouts! On the whole, we love it and will remain with us for many years.

This has to be the most simple-to-pitch Cabanon we have owned - and we've owned a few! The pole bag is a dream, since there are very few poles; just one centre pole and then sprung uprights to support the doorway and exterior canopy. The cross pole (which joins the two doorway uprights) can be a bit fiddly, since it is a very tight fit when supplied new, but we found it was okay after the tent had been 'weathered' (soaked whilst pitched and then allowed to dry out whilst the canvas is taut).

We used a side panel (which is very simply affixed to either side, with velcro tabs) which provides some wind protection and privacy.

The front of the tent can be zipped open and fixed to one side, which is great in warmer weather.

This isn't really a tent for anyone who likes lots of living space, or who takes wardrobe units etc. We like the interior space and shape and think this tent is cozy, with a certain ambiance and charm, but found it easier to take an additional kitchen tent with us on longer stays, for cooking and food storage etc.

The only (minor) downside, for us, is the lack of an inner tent. The permanently attached curtain, which divides the bedroom and living areas, makes for a quicker pitch but means this is essentially a tent for a couple (or a couple with very young children) IMHO. Although we didn't experience condensation, we think the added insulation of a separate inner would possibly be better for when we use this tent abroad; keeping us cooler in the daytime and warmer at night, hence have sold the lovely Guadeloupe and are now thinking of buying a Barbados (slightly larger, and with a separate inner tent).

I have tried and tested many tents, bought from, and consequently re-sold on ebay. However, wild horses couldn't drag this tent away from me. I - a 46 year old arthritic 5'1' woman - put this tent up alone (kids went hunting for friends) in around 15 minutes. It was so easy! It provided us with a wind and rain-proof shelter, and we slept like babies knowing that no matter how the wind got up outside, our tent would stay put. The optional sun/wind canopy was a godsend, and I managed to do all our cooking outside, shielded from the winds that normally blow my cooker out! This tent is NOT going back on ebay, I have found my dream home!

The Cabanon Guadeloupe is a four berth ‘pyramid’ style tent made from top quality 100% cotton canvas. Whilst its design is reminiscent of traditional ridge/bell tents, it is both extremely practical, spacious and elegant.

Having purchased our Guadeloupe in March of this year and subsequently using it on five camping trips, I would struggle to find anything negative to say about it! For me it is the perfect weekend family tent, and easily big enough for two to spend a week or more in!

So what is so good about the Guadeloupe? Well for starters it couldn’t be quicker or simpler to pitch. No threading poles, no fighting the wind, just peg out the sewn in groundsheet, insert the central pole, add the door and porch poles and peg out. With practice this can be done in 10 minutes, but even a novice could manage it in 20!

Once pitched the Guadeloupe is going nowhere! They are classed as storm tents so will withstand the very worst the British weather can throw at them. We have had first hand experience of this whilst camped on the Cornish coast. Whilst many other tents on the site were either damaged or completely blown down by the wind, the Guadeloupe never moved an inch - the campsite owner even came over for a look the following morning he was so impressed!

Inside the Guadeloupe is much more spacious than you would imagine. Yes, the walls do slope in from the centre pole, but the pole is around 8’ high and the side walls are about 10' high, meaning that there is a fair amount of stand up height and the sides are useful for storage - I am 6’4” and find the inside very spacious and not at all claustrophobic! The sleeping area is divided from the living area by a curtain which we prefer to keep tied back. The porch area means that you can keep the main door open while it is raining and also provides a sheltered area for cooking (especially if you add the optional side canopy)

All in all the Cabanon Guadeloupe is a fantastic tent which I would whole heartedly recommend to anyone requiring a spacious, safe and secure tent!
