Bought this after sitting out a Lakeland storm in a Royal Avignon 5. Although that tent stood up to the battering, the bendy poles and the traditional ground sheet made for a very uncomfortable experience.
Criteria for the replacement were: steel poles, SIG, stand-up headroom and 5 berth. Settled on the Cedar Creek as soon as I saw it and at £104 inc carriage from GoOutdoors it was a bargain.
I agree with the comments about the pole tension and the instructions, but it was relatively easy to figure out and I managed to pitch it single handed. The three way doors are great. One significant negative is that there isn't an EHU entry point - this is essential with a SIG. Other than that (and the tension), nothing to complain about. It feels as solid as a rock - those poles ain't bending!
Lastly this tent has a significant plus point I didn't see mentioned above - the bag is oversized so it is easy to repack! Can't say that about any other tent I've had!

We all love our Cedar Creek! We had an issue with the tension for the first couple of uses resulting in one of the seams splitting but contacted Coleman direct who suggested shortening the length of the poles. They also replaced the tent and sent us a spare set of poles so were obviously aware of the problem! It's ideal for 2 adults and 2 kids, not sure about 3 kids though!

I have a Cedar Creek tent and I have found by pitching it in the garden that the tension is tight and it does not sit straight. For a definitive answer can someone confirm if shortening the green and yellow fibreglass poles helped? Did people cut the centre fibreglass pole too? A good written explanation on how to do it would be very appreciated. Thanks guys, Loz

Well we put ours up in the garden, ignored the instructions and used our heads, and it took 30 mins. Next time was in the dark at a site, and the front seam ripped where the pole curves above the front door. Oooops, maybe bit over zealous putting it up ? Next at a music festival putting it up leisurely the other seam ripped above the other side of the front door, and the back corner SIG when pulling the the tab over the pole with no real force. Admittedly I am used to high quality mountain tents, but this seems to be made of tissue paper. Looking from the inside the seams are nowhere near symmetrical above the door being about 2-3 inches out !
That said it is a great design of tent, spacious plenty of headroom, we love it, our toddler daughter loves it too.
I will be returning the tent to Go Outdoors this weekend (if it has dried fully)to hopefully exchange for another one and see if we fair better. (Don kid gloves and assume it is made of tissue paper)
If it works out I intend to look into replacing the steel poles with aluminium ones of a shorter section to help weight and packsize.

First family tent after always using mountain tents for backpacking and weekend trips. Loads of room, nice design, sturdy and really good - the wife loves it - until last week - only the fifth trip out, and the front right tie down point stitching blew during some blustery weather.
The tent is under tension - it needs to be and I don't understand why poles need cutting down - surely that tension is what keeps the tent up and retains its' strength in high winds - you just need to ensure the adjustment points are slackened right off - and the doors are unzipped?
I repaired the tent by hand during the night and repair held for the rest of the week. I'm going to add strengthening to all tie points so it doesn't happen again. I've also added eyelets in the front and sides of the SIG to prevent the wind getting under and billowing up the floor as this happened last time out and blew table and kitchen stand over!
Another gripe is where the green and yellow poles cross at each corner, I don't know if anyone else has found this problem but the poles rub together and have caused holes in the carrier sleeves - not a major fault - I've reinforced the area - just seems a pretty obvious flaw?
Even for these problems I think the tent is great and with a little modification it's all been resolved - still great value at £90 and I don't think there's anything out there that compares for ease of assembly, internal space, pack size, head room and especially price.

We bought this tent at the beginning of the season from go outdoors.
Yes it's big and bulky to carry and pack but is worth they weight!
We found it easy to put up although you do need to be tall to put in the internal pole! We lay it down put it together then put it up.
Love the fact you can choose your door or have all three open.
More than enough space for two adults and two toddlers. We have the kampa kids airbeds which you can fit three of in the smaller pod (as we discovered taking a friends toddler .Yes we're mad!)
Camped this weekend at Hawes in torrential rain and had planty of room inside to cook, eat etc, and not a drop of rain on us.
Have used it five times so far in the UK and it gets easier and quicker to put up each time, testing it in france in two weeks for two weeks.
Overall a great tent for a family with small kids, it reminds me of our family full frame tent from when I went camping as a kid.

Bought online from 'Field and Trek' for £90 plus £4 delivery. Very prompt delivery. Decided to use it locally with husband and 9 year old daughter. We went armed with tips from here on the Blackberry plus a hacksaw! It was fine to put up, needed the folding stool to tie up the pods and the central fibre glass poles and I am quite tall.
Loved it! it poured down but we could get all our table, chairs and cooking stuff in the living area. Bedrooms are fine for 3, tight with two single air beds for us in the biggest, and fine for a single one in the smaller with space down the side. It looked great, we hung blue and red paper led lanterns around it to spot it in the field and people came over to say what a nice tent it was. Very, very happy with it!

Just got this tent for a fantastic £90 from Field and Trek!
Even unpacking it, it was clear the quality of the tent was far superior to the Vango Diablo we replaced.
Took under an hour to erect on our first go, but use the insrtuctions posted elsewhere on this thread. The supplied instructions only make sense once you've erected it!
It takes 2 to erect, and there is definitely NO need to cut bits off your poles!
Once up there is loads of space (I'm 5' 9', and can JUST reach up and touch the top). Visibility is superb, it feels sturdy and looks good.
For £90, an absolute steal!

Bought our Cedar Creek after a pole broke in our last tent [Milano 500] been camping in it 4/5 week ends and can erect it now in about 20mins. We had to cut a couple of inches off the poles to help with fit, and now it fits in all the right places. This weekend [18/7/08] was very windy and while other tents were bending in the wind the Cedar creek stayed square and solid. A very good tent as you have great height and no sloping sides to brush against

Fantastic tent. Loads of headroom and a generous sized living area. Great for a couple and two/three kids.
Outstanding value too at the moment as Go Outdoors seem to be running them as specials this summer for £99. You've got to be quick though as I missed out on one the first time round and my local store sold out within a day of the promo leaflet coming through the post this time! [July '08]
We bought it and took it to Anglesey two days later, without a test in the garden, and it went up [quite] easily [thanks Julie12c] despite the force 4 norwesterly breeze that wanted to turn it into a power kite.
The coloured roof poles do seem a bit too long which does stress the seams so I'll maybe take an inch off each end before our next trip.
Bedroom sizes are OK - my wife and I take the smaller pod on a 120cm wide double airbed and leave the bigger pod to the boys. You *can* fit 3 [snugly] in the larger pod if you're on roll mats [forget airbeds].
We added a Coleman tent porch awning [from Argos] and that gives us a great covered cooking area - and the fabric colour is an exact match!
The down sides? Just the obvious;
# It's a big beasty and takes up a fair bit of boot space.
# It's a heavy beasty when it's all packed in its bag, so getting it stored in the loft is. Entertaining. Do as others suggest and take the legs and poles out of the bag to make it more manageable.
# Small children [and you] WILL trip over the lip of the SIG a number of times at first! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
