I bought this tent and used it for the first time this weekend. I found the tent very easy to put up, very roomy, the bedrooms were stretched quite badly and could not zip up properly, I had two small dogs and four people staying in this tent and there was loads of room, only other problem was that the doorways did not zip right round, so the dogs were able to escape, kept my daughter fit!. All in all a fantastic tent, even in the windy conditions it was stable and felt very solid. Can't wait for my next trip. I would highly recommend this tent to anyone

Just came back from what should have been 3 nights camping in Dorset with our brand new Coleman Coastline 6 Deluxe. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to this tent and it's design faults - mainly LEAKING!

1) As others have reported (we have seen reviews elsewhere reporting the exact same thing on the 6 man and 8 man models) this tent leaks from all the internal window toggles and straps where they are sewn into the seam. Unfortunately, we had a fair bit of rain and drizzle over the two nights we stayed, and the constant dripping started within hours of pitching. This is not a fault with this particular tent as it was not just one toggle/strap, but all of them.

2) The third bedroom (the one that is at the front of the tent) is very small and has a serious design flaw in my opinion. The back 'wall' of the bedroom slopes at 45 degrees in line with the front entrance door and it comes into contact with the door/flysheet. This makes water from the wet door drip into this bedroom. The tent was put up correctly and I looked at the bedroom closely to see if I could stop it from touching the front door. Also, there do not seem to be enough support toggles along the length of this bedroom side walls to secure the walls, so it also hangs in on you giving you little space - certainly not enough for 2 and you are sleeping with the walls dangling in your face and you cannot even sit up. Our mattress and pillows were wet by the morning where they were in contact with the inner bedroom walls.

3) As someone else here has pointed out, the 3rd bedroom door zips are too tight to open or close without removing the bedroom support side toggles. Zips were straining and even slackening guys didn't really help this.

4) The small porch on the side door (which is your main entrance if using bedroom 3 amusingly (at first at least) fills up with water and when it's limit is reached, the porch drops down and pours water over anyone going in or out at the time and also into the tent. The porch is supported by a flexible pole that pops up under its own tension but drops when weighed down by water.Became very annoying.

Apart from the above, the tent was easy and quick to put up, roomy if you don't use the 3rd bedroom (I would say its a 4 man tent - we were a family of 5 and felt a bit crammed in) but only consider if you are not going camping with even the slightest chance of rain!

We took ours straight back to the shop the day we returned for a full refund and will definitely not buy another Coleman Tent.

I have experienced the same as the list user 'Fics112' stated below. Plus:

6. Water leaking in five points on the bottom of the curtain holders.

7. No proper instructions either in the pack (apart from a ridiculous nonsense pictures in a tag stitched into the bag) nor online.

No wonder why this tent is 50% off in some shops already.

There were several issues with the package I bought, which was the tent, the side canopy, and the carpet;

1, The carpet does not fit in the slightest. Mine was over a foot short on one side, and several inches short on the other.

I was not expecting wall to wall, but at the price I paid, I could have got a general camping carpet cheaper. I bought the official one thinking it would fit.

2, The side canopy does not fit either. I can see that it would fit the Coastline 8 well, stretching over two of the roof poles, but on the 6 it does not. It hangs over the edge and flaps in the wind, and falls short on the roof pole the other side, so water pours down and into the canopy. Unfit for purpose I would say.

3, No insect screens on the main doors. Why? Supposed to have ‘ no see um mesh’ but they do not. Also doors do not seal at the bottom. So much for ‘bug free camping’.

4, Footprint ground sheet does not fit. It is easily four inches too big all around, so water collects and keeps the tent bottom wet rendering the foot print useless.

5, The bedroom compartments are stretched ridiculously tight when the tent is erected and pegged. We had to release several of the toggles from the side of the tent to get the zips to go up. Even then they were straining. Only a matter of time before they break I am guessing.

Bought this after much research and previously using a small tunnel tent - I prefer that design! First time out last weekend and what a brilliant design! I am actually using it on my own first and foremost as I like a lot of space and headroom - both are in abundance with this model. Very well thought out design features like the vents / electric hook up flap / roller windows all make for a very pleasant camping experience. Three separate sleeping compartments would take 6 but more useful for 3 with their own luggage space? (Or 1 with a walk-in wardrobe and an extra covered storage area.)

Easy to put up by one person as long as they're experienced with tunnel tents, as it's a knack to put it up in one - but quick to do. Overall I am very impressed with this tent - a huge space without the huge price tag to match - a brilliant bargain!

Upgraded our tunnel tent to this one because we are quite tall and liked the idea of standing room.

I love this tent and cant recommend it enough. We can put it up fully in 35 mins last time I was 30 weeks pregnant and we still managed it. Its all in one so you just pop the four poles in and peg it up. Simple.

3 Sleeping sections though we only use the 2 at the rear thus giving us more living space. I can fit comfortably into the living area, a folding kitchen, a kampa khazi, a blow up 2 seat couch and my folding picnic table with chairs. Self rolling windows are quite good but you need to remember to take the mechanism out before packing away. There are two small zip areas for electrical hook up too.

There is one downside though and its the fact that the main and side doors do not fully zip along the bottom. No problem there I just got duct tape from the pound shop to pop on at night and keep the draft out.( I done the vents too)

Sturdy tent, no leaks, no problems with guy ropes in high winds. We are a family of four now and find it just right size.

First tent I've owned and I think it's great. Just used it on a long wet and windy weekend and it didn't let us down. Very quick to put up and take down despite the lack of any proper instructions besides the diagram sewn into the tent bag. The description mentions colour coded poles but this in incorrect. However, they are all the same length (I hope!) so not a problem. One gripe is the pole tensioned porch tends to flop down when it's windy.

Plenty of room for 4 people and a dog but wouldn't like to try it with 6.

I also bought the carpet and groundsheet, both of which are well made. However, the carpet is about an inch all round too small and the groundsheet about 2 inches all round too big. I'm new to this and can understand why the groundsheet is bigger than the tent but it makes it impossible to peg the base unless you fold the groundsheet under the tent.

We recently purchased this tent and have just arrived back from a long weekend trying it out. We did not have a run thought trying to pitch it first and we were not disappointed. It was very easy to pitch with it been a tunnel tent. Ground sheet is fully sewn in. The only thing you have to do once main tent is up is attach the inner bedroom compartments. Just make sure you attach this before the guy ropes are fully adjusted as we didn't and when we tried to zip the rooms shut it only zipped half way round. The tent has a larger than average living area which if we had chosen to use would have been plenty big enough for the 4 of us. Overall a fantastic tent and would highly recommend to anyone.
