15 Reviews of the Darwin 5         Showing 11 to 15          Page:   1   2

I've just taken delivery of my new Darwin 5 Tent after reading lots of good reviews. However, I'm really struggling to put up the tent and wondered if anyone could help out here?

I've managed to thread through all the fibre glass poles but when it comes to putting the first pole in the hole to erect, it just doesn't fit (I've snapped this larger pole and now waiting for replacement).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is a fantastic tent, well made from quality materials. We bought it last year as an upgrade from our evo400. We managed three trips in it for long weekends and it was superb, being fairly easy to erect and dismantle by two people. I particularly like the storage area behind the bedrooms and the bedroom anchor points in the floor (nice touch)
As said elsewhere the only gripe is the confusing array of zip pulls on the doors, we always pull the wrong one every time! But for this, it would rate 10 stars.
I have recently seen this discounted at under two hundred quid, what a bargain!

Used it for the first time April 08. Easy to erect and zip off groundsheet was great for cleaning. Tent withstood quite a downpoor and airflow through the tent was good. Nice and light inside.
The only problem we had was confusion with the zipping system on the doors (kept pulling the wrong zip to open the door), solved by putting a longer length cord on to the zip pully so now easier to find.

Bought a Coleman Darwin 5 last year as repacement for our Wynnster Condor plus 6 (also downsizing). I must say that the Coleman is an absolutely superb piece of kit. Well laid out with lots of thought into making the most of the available space and a great storage area behind the bedrooms. Simplicity itself to erect and great headroom for tall people. If you want a brilliant tent then buy the Coleman Darwin 5.
