By: Diverjustin Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2008 Rating:
Good size tent, especially height-wise for a 6 ft+ plus tall person like myself. I only have to duck slightly to get under the doorways, apart from that I can stand up throughout the tent. Due to the design, the shape of the walls are near vertical so all the central communal floor space can be used. Very easy to put up, despite the very poor instructions supplied by Coleman! (No text just small images in back and white - handy with colour coded poles!). Took about 15 mins with two of us the first time and considerably less the second time, once we knew what poles went where and why some were blunt ended and others pointed - again no mention of this in the diagrams!
Not fully tested in wet weather or really windy conditions but coped admirably with overnight rain and light/gusty wind. Very good considering its large size.
Probably the best bit of the tent is that you can zip-off one of the sleeping areas if there is only three people. We use this smaller version of the tent for when it's just myself and my partner and it means we have a large sleeping area and nice large dining/sitting area. Makes you wonder why other manufacturers haven't done this as it can adapt your tent (and therefore what you have to pack in the car!) for each occasion. The tent is packed in two parts, so you only have one bag if your using the smaller version, or take both if the larger version.
I got this tent for £179.99 and it's a bargain at that price when you look at what else is around. Would have got a 10/10 if the erecting instructions were actually usable!
