We have just spent a week in the NEW model Hayling 4 the dark/light blue model and it seems that the manufacturers listened to the feedback, as some of the niggles mentioned for the previous model have been resolved! What a fantastic tent, roomy, well laid out and airy! We had one practice run at setting it up, which took about 45 mins, but it didn't take as long the 2nd time! Well made the poles are sturdy and clips/guide ropes well positioned. There were only two of us and we had plenty of room in the bedroom to store all our bags, clothes, dvd player etc and have a double airbed! We had a table, 2 chairs and an electric cool box in the living area, we did cook under the canopy, which is a fantastic idea and the main reason we liked this tent in the first place. The door/window with the fly mesh on is great for letting air into the tent as is the large window opposite. There are several vents which is good as it was very warm and could get too hot inside during the day. One fab thing was that the covers for the windows fit brilliantly, you could even have the large window only open at the top - fab! The organiser pockets are big and plentiful (great for storing all your bits and pieces)we did buy a footprint and matching windbreak, the footprint was good kept the tent clean, but the windbreak was a little disappointing, the ground spikes aren't long enough to hold it, so my husband fitted longer ones which helped and meant we only used 2 guide ropes. Overall fab tent! Packing it away was easy and the bags (unusually) are big enough to fit everything into easily after use!

We had sold our Outwell Monty 6 and wanted a smaller tent that would still accommodate two adults and our bits and pieces. After checking out the competition we made our purchase still a bit unsure if we should have stuck with a brand we knew. Well we were wrong, the Kampa Hayling 4 is perfect for 2 adults. The bedroom divide can be taken out to make 1 nice sized room with space for clothes and storage. The lounge although a lot smaller was adequate and had plenty of room for two tables and our camping chairs. We used the attached canopy to store our bikes and as a cooking area.
I would rate this tent 10 out of 10 and a perfect purchase even if you weren't on a budget.

I had been looking at this tent for a while and decided to purchase it for this years camping.
I desperately wanted to give this 10/10 as we have another Kampa tent and the quality is excellent but due to a minor annoyance I couldn't.
We are used to tunnel type tents so had this up within 30mins its that easy and simple. Due to the poor weather this weekend it underwent rain and strong winds and coped brilliantly.
The 4man versions bedroom space is HUGE and could easily fit 4 adults in with some room for storage, we are a family of 2 adults/child/2 small dogs and it was ample. I personally would of preferred to compromise on bedroom space for living space as the living space would be a very tight squeeze for 4 adults, we found it tough going fitting in 3 chairs and a dog bed.
So for that reason alone I wouldn't get this tent if there are more than 3 of you and get the bigger version if you plan on spending any amount of time confined the the tent.
The built in canopy at the front was a main buying point for us, we put out larder unit outside (we didn't have much space to have it inside anyway) and it was ideal.
The tent has 4 windows, the main front door does not have a window in it. The side door has a mesh panel allowing you to open it up without letting any bugs in.
The front main door has a really annoying gap at the bottom, the sig folds down when in use with the door open which you have to fold back up and attach by two toggles on either side. Which is not enough to prevent a gap opening with the wind.
I do not understand why they didn't have a strip of velcro along the sig as they do on our other kampa tent to stop a gap appearing, it doesn't make any sense to leave it as it is and to combat the issue I used clamps to hold it together as we were camping in windy weather.
Overall its a good quality tent, with minor annoyances you could probably live with and it makes a perfect weekender for a small family on a budget.
