Good sized family tent that appears to fit all standard sized pitches. Initially I wanted to get the biggest tent in the Kampa range the Tenby 10, but in reality that's just too big for 4 of us.
Only pitched once thus far and went up fairly easily and without any dramas between the two of us, we also have the canopy, footprint and carpet which makes for a good package.
This tent is perfect for us with 2 young children after upgrading from our Wynnster Mallard 5 which we initially bought when there was just the 2 of us.
Problems:
1, about a quarter of the guy ropes pulled through on initial pitching as the knots were not made large enough. Easy to retie though.
2, there was a pull in the carpet
Don't really have a lot to compare quality of this tent however it really did look and feel of a better construction than others we looked at on quite a few display grounds.
Price:
Well should you support your local dealer and buy from them? Well we did with our last tent but this time we viewed locally and bought from the internet saving £70, so best to shop around I'm afraid.
I really think the Pendine 8 will last us well for a good few years.
We use the 2 separate double bedrooms one end for our girls and we have the 4 berth bedroom the other end and have found it very nice to have that bit of distance between the bedroom compartments.
Also having the cooker and electric cool box in the canopy really helps with the usable space inside the main tent.
As others have noted the step into the tent is very high and does cause a trip hazard especially for our 22 month old.
One last thing, I would like a removable ground sheet for the canopy area however Kampa do not make one so we had to source this from elsewhere.

We were looking for a larger tent with a sewn in ground sheet, larger living area, more space in the sleeping compartments and fly mesh doors, that was as equally as good and same lay out as our 6 man Eurohike Buckingham tent.
After much hunting the net we came across and purchased the Kampa Pendine 8,it was perfect for our needs and also purchased the sun canopy, we have even more space, no more wet feet or the four legged kind straight into the main tent.
The Pendine 8 is a great family tent ,very straight forward to put up in about 40 mins, it has two inner pole's that run the length of the tent that makes it very sturdy.Ventilation is very good too, can be open or closed other than the two ends.
The only negative is that the step into the tent is quite deep.

We looked at several tents after loving our Vango Diablo 600 and it was hard to find one equally as good.
We stumbled across the Pendine 8 and we purchased the canopy as well.
We have used for one week so far on a sloping pitch, it withstood a downpour.
It went up very easily with no trouble on the slope. All the sides were tight which is helped by the poles located inside the tent.
The canopy is a great asset.
We had a comfortable time with the kids in the double room and we had the single room with the double air bed in. Plenty of living space.
The tent dimantled very easily too and packed up neatly in its bag.
One tiny problem is the deep step into the tent but thats just nit picking.
Looking forward to using it again.

Having looked at nearly every tent on the market we thought we would not find one that was right for us.
We stumbled across the Pendine 8 by accident I can honestly say it is fantastic.
Have used it in the hot weather and the ventilation system works great, also it has been pitched on a hill in torrential rain and strong winds without any problems at all. We have also bought the awning which is a great addition.
The only complaint I have that stopped me giving 10/10 is the Guy ropes are very poorly put together but thats just nit picking.
Overall a great tent and cant wait till we go again in August

Ideal family tent. We searched for a tent that came in at 7 metres but wasn't too narrow,some campsite charging you for two pitches for tents over the 7 metre length. Took two of us approx. 40 mins to put up the first and so far only time. Perfect space for two adults and two children. Put the kids in one each of the separate bedrooms, this was their choice, they could both have fitted into one, and we opened up the other end to make one large room for us, we had in a huge air bed and our suitcase and there was still room to get dressed with ease.
Good straight walls so no stooping something that has driven me mad before in previous tents. Internal mesh on outer door and inner windows to the bedrooms great in hot weather. Fibreglass poles over the roof of the tent and steel legs. Not too heavy for the two of us to erect quite easily. A very sturdy tent with inner poles that run the length of the tent for extra strength,feels and looks solid, withstood several big gusts of wind and a few hours of rain with no problems. Tent bag a bit of a tight fit, pole bag feels a bit flimsy this is the only negative. Tent dismantled really quickly. Good job Kampa.

Manufacturer's Description
A large eight berth tent offering extremely versatile bedroom accommodation and useable living space. Unlike some other similar tents, the Pendine 8 has a hybrid steel and fibreglass frame. The steel legs ensure that the Pendine has upright walls maximising use of the interior floor area and making the Pendine a very stable tent. Inside, the Pendine has a very flexible bedroom arrangement – a four berth bedroom that can be divided using the zipped curtain – and two 2 berth inner tents. Any one of these inner tents can be left out to provide extra living space, or the two 2 berth inner tents can be used opposite each other. The front wall of the four berth inner tent has built in organiser pockets. The large living room has two large windows and can be accessed through two doors, both of which have a secondary mesh door and one of which has a protective canopy above. The whole tent has a sewn in groundsheet which together with the Weathershield 4000mm flysheet keeps the weather out. An optional sun canopy is available.
