I purchased this tent to use after reading various reviews. When we put it up in the garden I found it difficult to get the ring pin in so looked on the forum & people had said to loosen the straps off before pitching then tighten once tent was erected.
We went to Fforest fields for the bank holiday & I did as advised & although myself & my sister managed to pitch the tent in about 40 mins once it was up & pegged out on one side it seemed to be higher in the floor area no matter how much I tightened the straps & on closer inspection it seemed that the stitching on that side did not seem straight.
A few hours later we had a heavy rainfall & the zip on the front door leaked on the side where the pitching was not very good.
Over all if this tent had been stitched properly I would have given it full marks as it is very spacious in both the living & sleeping areas. The all in one pitch ensured that there were not too many draughts although on the front door it could do with another couple of toggles to stop the wind.
I too agree that if it also had more windows it would be a lovely tent.
I purchased my tent from Leisure shack & I have to say their service & customer service are brilliant as the item was delivered within 36 hours & since I have contacted them re issues the gentleman is arranging for collection from me on Monday & a no quibbles refund has been guaranteed.

There are only two of us and we chose this tent so that we had a large bedroom area. We can get a queen size blow-up double bed in there with room to stand either side. We have used it twice, once in fabulous weather and once in the rain. When it rained it did not leak anywhere. However, we did buy the Gelert Atlantis 5 porch, which we felt was not built to the same quality as the main tent. Not very good in the rain and they used metal poles instead of fibre glass. Around the foot of the porch the gap from the ground to the porch was too big. This meant that as the rain ran off the porch it splashed and entered into the porch. So I would not recommend the porch, but definitely the main tent the Atlantis 5 (10 out of 10)

We love our new tent and found it easy to erect having not used a tent for a while. It is really sturdy in poor weather and made us feel safe and snug. We are greedy and have it just for two of us and it fees like a mansion! Sadly a pole split on second use, but hope to get this resolved with Gelert. Could do with a hook for a light in each compartment.

Overall this is a super tent:
Pros:
All in one pitch.
Sturdy and resistant to wind and rain
2 Openings from living area. (side door and front door)
Storage pockets are handy.
Can comfortably seat 4 adults in the living area around a small table
Cons:
Sleeping area Probably not suitable for 5 people to sleep in unless you want to be squashed.

This is a great tent for short breaks. Straight forward to put up and take down. Sturdy and plenty of room for 2 adults, (one 6'2), and 2 large dogs. We have footprint and carpet so now Glamping. Only thing missing is mesh window in living area, would be helpful. Thinking about getting the porch which would be a benefit for longer breaks as at the moment we use a Vango Aspen which is now a bit too big for us. Great tent

This is a great tent. Easy to pitch, for us novices it took around 40 Min's to complete fully. The living area is spacious enough for 3 people but I wouldn't want more than 3 people sleeping in it as it only fits 3 airbeds in the sleeping area.
The tent survived a night of non stop heavy rain and I recommend buying the footprint and carpet as they make the tent feel much more homely and comfortable, The sewn in ground sheet is also great (no horrid drafts).
This is the first tent we have owned and I'm very pleased with the quality and space offered. I would recommend this tent.

The Gelert Atlantis 5 bought from Costco June 2011 and was a really good price and included a porch in case we needed the extra room. (But for 2 people and 1 dog it should be big enough without it).
Surprisingly given some extremely poor stitching and being short of a few tent pegs I’ve given high marks.
As always we got home and put it up in the garden. It all looked very impressive but sadly the stitching on some of the pole and pegs anchor points was abysmal. The first two I took hold of simply pulled off in my hand. We checked the rest and had to decide whether to take it back and continue our quest for a decent tent or mend it. We bit the bullet and used fishing line to sew five of the 8 anchors points and hoped everything else was ok. (That said, the Costco guarantee is a comfort. If at any time you’re not happy with anything you’ve bought from there take it back and get a refund. Even a few years later, amazing! )
Overall when we got it up we loved it and I can see with a couple of minor tweaks this should do us nicely.
The all in one inner tent is a great idea, the tent goes up and when you step inside the inner tent is already there – like magic!
This tent has useful mesh storage pouches as well. Inside the inner tent, outside the inner tent and another set for the wall.
The only thing missing was a couple of poles and guy lines for the doors in case you wanted to have a door open 'awning' style and we seemed to be a bit shot of tent pegs too but no big deal, although another dozen pegs wouldn’t have gone amiss but overall we’re very pleased with it.
A large living area with plenty of head room and a nice light coloured roof panel making the whole area feel light and airy. Easy to put up and the fully sewn in ground sheet means it’ll be quite snug in bad weather and for what we paid it I have to give it good marks.
A previous reviewer had to use a Vango awning as Gelert didn’t do one then – they do now.
Another reviewer commented on the lack of windows. I agree – windows on both sides with mesh inside would improve this product but overall it’ll do.
We haven’t put the porch up yet but when I’ve checked the stitching we’ll put that on as well to see what that’s like.
Overall a superb tent but make sure to test it BEFORE you go away in it to make sure the stitching it up to scratch.

Bought this tent from costco. Usually good quality stuff there. Wasn't disappointed, came with an awning which made it even better. Easy to put up, about 45 mins, considering we havent camped for 25 years. Comes down easily, folds away back in to its bag no problem. Also stood up to very high winds and rain over the may bank holiday which was good as we had our 3 year old granddaughter with us, we all slept like logs. Used it again the weekend after lovely weather and it was fine. Big opening doors and netting on bedrooms to keep flys out but let cool air in.

My husband and I recently decided to give camping a go again as our kids are growing up and we have the time. We originally bought a small 3 man tent and went to stay at Sykeside caravan park in the lakes.
We realised we had bought the wrong one and decided we needed one with, a, standing room b, a separate bedroom large enough for individual space, I like to spin around a lot when I sleep and c, room to sit at a table with chairs without being seen by the whole world.
The Gelert Atlantis 5 fitted all 3 needs.
We bought it in May 2011, I believe it is last years model but after going around many camp stores and doing much research on line this was the one.
We originally just bought the main tent itself but after using once at Beacon Fell in Preston we went back to Water World Garstand road nr Kirkham, and bought the Footprint and the Carpet. Now all we need is a some decent weather and we are off to the lakes again. Cannot wait.

I ought this tent in the Amazon sale in January for £99.99 but have only just used it, so I was slightly anxious that all the bits would be there!
What can I say. Brilliant! Easy to pitch about 30-45 mins), really great size, roomy enough for my 6ft 3 husband to stand up in with room to spare, and fits all the associated detritus a family of four needs for a weekend away.
The room divider in the bedroom, as the other reviewers have mentioned is flimsy, and we ended up not using it, and just having one big bedroom with one double airbed and two single airbeds which fitted in perfectly.
Our first camping trip involved wind and rain, but the tent stood up to it remarkably well and dried very quickly in the sun the next day.
Very pleased with my purchase.
