Very easy to put up. Great looking, and love the fact that it has 2 separate bedrooms. In the biggest bedroom we managed to fit a double air bed & a single aired which then slept 2 adults, a 4 year old & 2 year old. The living area of the tent was spacious. I had read negative reviews regarding there being no windows but we didn't find this a problem as there are 3 doors you can open up. Also the main door does not zip the whole way round, but once I worked out howto do all the toggles properly this didn't cause a problem and the wind was kept out.

Now for the downfall (literally!) Our tent leaked down the seams! It wasn't major but I didn't spend £200 on a tent to dodge rain drops! Needless to say it has now been sent back. We have ordered the same tent again as I'm hoping that was just a faulty 1.

What a great tent!

Just had our first trip in our new Gelert Lakesbury 5 which we bought online with the new matching porch.

We originally wanted a Hi-Gear Mojave 5 but could not find one in stock anywhere. I did remember someone mentioned on this forum that the Gelert Lakesbury 5 is exactly the same tent as Gelert manufacture Hi-Gear tents.

We also own 2 Hi-Gear tents (the Caplan 5 and Zenobia 6) and looking back at our previous camping trips I will say, IMO, that the Gelert are of much better quality and as an added bonus we did manage to buy this tent online £10 cheaper than the Mojave 5 equivalent!

This was easy to erect and with the lovely large open front/2 side doors feels very light/spacious.

This tent is quite wide - hence the 2 bedrooms are very spacious and there are storage pockets on the side of both bedrooms (also handy pockets in the living area to avoid clutter!)

We also bought the matching carpet which is very cosy.

I am sure we will also use this for shorter trips without the porch added on.

A lovely, family tent for weekend or longer trips at a great price!

I love this tent. I've owned many in my life (40 yrs) and this is by far the best. So much room inside not just in the living space but also in the main bedroom, it's massive. Lovely and airy as you can open 3 sides. It has proved itself with constant rain without any problems at all. Couldn't be happier with this tent. Definitely recommend for max of 4 people any more would be quite crowded.

Our first Tent was a lakesbury 5, Had a great week at Sands (Gairloch) in July 2009. It withstood major winds on our first night ,very scary, lots of flexing but no leaks tears or broken poles.Only couple of down sides firstly large opening doesn't zip as everyone else mentioned and secondly no windows.

Have since sold to friends who still use it

We bought this tent having only seen it on the internet-never pitched (our mistake),it was described as having 'skylights' but this turned out to be just lighter material not windows in the roof as we had been led to believe.

The large door was not sealed fully and let in the wind and cold air at night.

It did hold up well in the rain and didn't leak.A nice looking tent, but just not for us.

A nice looker, easy to put up. It has leaked at the windows in heavy downpours, but otherwise held its shape. I liked the fact you could let a breeze through the netting at each side window. It was quite comical that the Chinese manufacturer had placed a hook for securing the inner tents to, to the left instead of to the right of the sewn in groundsheet, so that only if the tents were hung backwards could they be attached to it. Still it proved a roomy and happy experience. We bought the carpet and this was real luxury, and a footprint which took the mud, keeping the tent clean. Pleased also with the wind shield from Gelert, which stood still in a battering Anglesey wind. A good experience in all.

This is a roomy tent which is very quick and easy to put up. As a family there are 3 of us but the separate bedroom arrangement allows for more storage space when my husband and I get to go away together. It stood up to rain well with no leaks. We have taken to using one of the side entrances rather than the main door but the zips can catch if not careful. Very good value for money and a fabulous all rounder.

We agree :- 1/porch poles -3 entries=6 poles, 2/zip along front entrance would be good, partly because our little dog could escape through gap (she`s a houdini!)

We also got our tent at reduced price, thankfully, our previous tent, which was brand new, got waterlogged because groundsheet was not totally under tent (only under sleeping areas). The living area got very muddy very fast.

L.5 very good for the money.

Our first family tent. We've had it out 3 times and were impressed it stood up well to torrential down pours and gusty winds in the lake district. We're a family of 4 and find it has enough space for what we need. We find it very easy to erect we have it up in 15 minutes with no probs. Overall a great tent .

Had to buy a new tent after our coleman gave up. We paid £169.00 for ours which I am well chuffed with, but like others have said the front door could have done with a bottom zip and also another set of porch poles could have been useful. The tent itself stood up too a North Yorkshire downpour just 72 hours after we bought it,verifying that the 3000 mm rating was just what the doctor ordered
