Bought this for our family of 5. It is huuuuge! I am a fairly experienced camper, albeit on a budget, so never with expensive tents. I'm glad I bought this tent in the sale, as I would have been very disappointed. There were various drips from the seams (which I can seal, but thats not the point with a new tent) and a strip of the groundsheet 'delaminated' from one side of the tent to the other. Other than that, it was great for the holiday as it was abe contain so much, especially with the dodgy summer that was 2012. Returned the tent to Go outdoors, who sent it off for repair, but the repair company returned it saying it was unrepairable. Go outdoors were willing to replace, but informed me that there had been quality issues and the tent had been discontinued, so if everything else was ok with the tent they recommended using duck tape to repair the groundsheet along with a hefty refund, which I took up. All in all, a great idea behingd the tent, let down by its quality, but hopefully will be used for a few more family holidays yet with some running repairs.

As a family of five, we have previously owned a 6-man tent and found it in no way big enough to contain people, baggage, kitchen stuff and table/chairs.
The Corado 8 is sooooo huge! We have nick-named it 'the marquee' as it is big enough (without the bedroom pods) to be used as one.
All the other reviews on here have waxed lyrical about this tent, so I won't go on, but just to say that it is so nice to have enough living space for everyone even on a yucky day.
On our last trip, we had 5 adults and 3 children around a big table and still had loads of room for the kitchen stand and 'play' space.
I would highly recommend the footprint (allows you to position the tent accurately and stops the bottom if the tent from getting filthy) and also the carpet (or any backed blanket really -as it really makes the tent feel warmer).

I think its all been said before, massive tent (8mx5m)only takes 30 minutes to put up (2 people), I have dismantled this on my own.
Huge living area with space at the rear for storing.I use the outside canopy for cooking and eating. You can have all or 1 or 2 of the bedroom pods up, I put the 4 of them up and use the spare as a dressing room

We bought this tent at the end of June, was only able to try it out when we went away for 5 nights in mid August. Had read the reviews, trying to get some tips to erect,so slightly anxious beforehand. Laid out footprint and started at the rear,as recommended on here. Bit tricky at 1st, poles are heavy when all fixed together. Luckily we have 3 children who were all put to work. Once we had got the hang of it the tent was up within 45 mins. However after a slight disagreement with my hubby as to the positioning of the tent, we decided to turn it while it was up, not recommended. But we managed it,had to crawl under to turn the footprint. Make sure the positioning is correct before erecting. Loads of space, the storage area at the rear is very handy.Personally I love the porch area as we kept all our cooking equipment there and made all meals in it,even in the rain, this kept our living area very spacious. On our 3rd night it was very wet and windy, the tent stood up well, nice and dry and all pegs firmly in ground. There are loads of vents and on the cooler nights we had I closed the ones at the sides and just had the rear open. Unfortunately we had to put tent down wet and dry at home, got it back in bag no problem. Looking for ward to our next break in October.

Wow, what an amazing tent. We owned a Kalahari 10 with porch (which we returned) and purchased this Corado 8 instead in the sale for £331.00. Make sure you purchase the model made in china (2012).
What can I say it is brilliant, we decided to have this style of tent due to the amount of windows in the front section as our last tent was dark and felt like sitting in an dungeon. The tent is a light green colour and allows lots of light in. There are 4 bedroom pods which sleep 2 people in each. That is the only downside to this tent as if like us you like to sleep with your children next to you that isn't possible (a 2 and 4 year old). We have overcome this by taking out the rear bedroom pods and sleeping across the back section of the tent. We were able to fit a double air bed and 2 separate camp beds in the rear section with plently of room to spare. This has given us versatility in that when the kids are older they can have the bedroom pods put in for privacy and to enclose their own personal beds (See tent photo's). We hung the 2 middle bedroom pods (1 for storage and 1 for the portable toilet) which defined the living and sleeping areas. The carpet is a must have as we noticed a massive difference to the warmth of the tent. We shall now be purchasing another carpet for the rear section of the tent. Stepping out of bed onto carpet luxury I know!
On our recent outing with this tent (only pitched once before in the garden), it took me and my husband just 30 minutes to erect and 30 minutes to take down when empty and it fits back in the tent bag. Amazing for a steel frame tent. All the poles are the same along the length of the tent so assembly is easy. The tent also has an internal steel pole that goes around the inside at head height, to aid in it's sturdiness. It is sturdy and robust in the worst windy weather. It's 3000 Hydrostatic head didn't allow one drop into the tent even on a wet and windy august bank holiday.
Tent envy was definitely the case with this tent. Lots of campers on site came to have a look and were very impressed with the space and brightness of the tent. We were able to sit on the front canopy or in the front section of the tent and watch the children playing without having to get up and check what they were upto as the window configuration is really well thought out.
We were able to fit a camping table, 4 chairs, 2 tables, kitchen stand, washing up stand and camping bin in with loads of room to spare. This tent is a keeper and we are very impressed with the ease of the steel system. Oh and just for you women there is a towel rail built in.
I would have given this tent a 10 out of 10 if the bedroom pods slept 4 instead of 2. However a 9 out of 10 will do. Amazing buy, worth every penny!

THIS IS MY FOLLOW UP REVIEW - original review 8th AUG 2012
The PLYMOUTH stores Assistant Manager Jason, and HEAD OFFICE have finally got to the botton of this tents issues. I believe having spoken at length with Jason, it will be highly unlikely another customer will have to go through the same experience I have. All the other comments of different designs and years including mine are correct. Unlike other tent making companies HI GEAR have not change the colour of this tent when it has been modified, which to the layman means the tent is the same no matter what the year.
After a few days of Jason researching my claim, I receive a call to pop into the store to replace my old tent with the latest design tent. I was happy at the outcome but still slightly disappointed at the initial way I was handled and it defiantly questioned my loyalty and future custom towards GO OUTDOORS PLYMOUTH. Jason was apologetic and friendly to me and my two young sons accompanying me and dealt with me personally in store. As a sign of good will Jason gave me the carpet which complements this tent. This kind of customer service is appreciated and has cemented my future custom to this store without question.
I took the tent home and erected it straight away, in comparison (there may be more I just ran round quickly): the back vent is smaller, the side vents when opened click onto the poles, the front door zips all round, two guy ropes at the front, zipping the front door up not tight.
Looking forward to my next camp.

WARNING - Before you purchase this tent make sure you buy the one made from china - this is the latest design!
I bought my tent from Go Outdoors in PLYMOUTH 3rd May 2012 having not read the reviews (first problem).
I have used the tent twice, on the first occasion the weather was sunny and calm and we never used the front door. On the second occasion we had a couple of windy days and noticed the draught coming through the tent. I have previously had a tent with a separate ground sheet with the draught coming through and this was the main reason for buying a new tent with a fitted ground sheet. The front door on my model does not zip all the way round, after reading some reviews I realise that our tent is a 2010 design.
On my return from our recent camping trip I checked some reviews to find I am not alone and that customers had returned their tents to have them replaced with the 2012 model. Unfortunately I seem to be alone with being able to return it and get a new model from the PLYMOUTH store, where I bought it. (Customers in Manchester and Worksop have been able to replace theirs for the new model without a problem).
I bought this tent in 2012 and would expect to buy the latest model. There were no signs on the shelves indicating 2010, 2011 and 2012 model. I am currently liaising with numerous managers from the PLYMOUTH store and HEAD OFFICE. I will update once it has been finalised

What a tent ! we have had many tents but bought this last year and since have converted 3 other families to ditch their tent and buy one.We have used this 4 times now and can pitch it in 30 mins all done.We have 3 children who all have their own bedroom and enough living space for us all. The space at the back of the tent is great for putting cases etc and fitting a wardrobe into.
Next year we are taking it to France for 2 weeks and will be very comfortable in it regardless of the weather as it is sturdy in high winds and rain and has lots of ventilation when hot.

What a Massive tent! Bought this to replace a Coleman 5 birth which was also excellent but not really enough space, especially if the weather turned. This has loads of space, for camp furniture as well as leaving loads of room for kids to play. I liked the added space at the back of the tent for storing stuff that you don't need during your camp, like tents bags etc; and with a very simple modification an excellent place to put a camp loo.
The bedrooms easily fit any double camp bed or air bed with stretching the sides.
The one niggle is that the elastics holding up the bedroom compartments are a little tight when up and I fully expect some to come unstitched. I have had this previously with dozens of tents regardless of cost or apparent quality. Used over one of the rainiest weekends with no leaks and plenty of space for chldren to play.
FYI: GoOutdoors actually deivered mine with no pegs whatsoever but when I phoned them they shipped 60 pegs straight away no quibble.

I would have given this tent 10 stars if the pods were just a little bit bigger, sleeps 8 easily if you all use single beds, I like to sleep on a double height double air bed, found that the pods was not wide or long enough to contain one, so I used the living space to use it in. Plenty of room left to have a table and five chairs to sit in, I also found that the pegs that come as standard was not very good, so I used my own 300mm plastic pegs, just come back from a camping trip to Shell Island where for 3 nights we had very heavy rain and high winds, tent took it all, did not move, and did not leak.If you do buy this then the foot print and carpet are a must, this was our second time camping it took 3 adults around 60 minutes to erect the tent plus pods etc, compared to almost 3 hours for our last tent, probably around the same amount of time to pack it away, wife and daughter rolled the tent up and put it in its bag with ease, there were 5 in my group 3 adults and 2 children we had some space each, any more than that then I think you would struggle, but that depends on what extras you take, my wife took everything including the kitchen sink.Great Tent.I would recommend it, but not at the retail price of £900.If you are going to buy one then wait for the sale at Go Outdoors, mine cost £350, add another 100 for the foot print and carpet, then you have got a cheap holiday for a few years, last but not least you will need a trailer or a big car to carry it, takes up a lot of boot space.

Manufacturer's Description
The Hi Gear Corado 8 is a large 8 person family tent that offers a great combination of space and practicality.
The door canopy offers the facility to cook inside or out without damaging the groundsheet, and the choice of entrances allows you to choose your layout of tent furniture to suit your camp, and to ventilate the tent fully if it overheats or fills with barbecue smoke.
The internal standing height allows the freedom of movement and the feeling of space.
The 3000m hydrostatic head waterproofing ensures a dry, reliable retreat in troublesome weather while the sewn in ground sheet stops the wet dew in the morning.
To give you and your fellow campers even more space and luxury, it's possible to extend the tent using the Hi Gear Corado 8 canopy.
Ideal for family holidays, the Corado is perfect for getting away from it all.
