Absolutely love it.

We bought this tent to replace our trusty old tunnel tent. My daughters liked the Sahara 6 due to the separate bedroom pods. Go Outdoors was brilliant as the tents were on display so we could walk through & around the tents.

This tent is cavernous! Plenty of room, plenty of light & lovely design touches which I would normally associate with much more expensive tents.

We also bought the optional carpet & footprint which both proved to be worthwhile purchases.

I cannot fault this tent yet. Fairly simple to put up and it looks sturdy enough to withstand the worst the British weather can throw at it.

We can put our dining table & 4 chairs in the centre & still have room to walk around plus the girls can have their own room!

Brilliant.

We bought this in may 2011 for £220 plus the carpet and its the best money i`ve spent, lovely spacious living area, carpet makes it extra cosy, hubby and I just took it on its first week away, pitched in half hour,(most of that was pegging in guide ropes) then the same to do air beds, unpack and pour a glass of wine!

Had bad rain one night and wind, stayed dry as a bone and moved less than our neighbours Outwell in the winds, only downfall is I would like more ventilation in hot weather, eg able to open the big windows in living area, but apart from that cant fault it, husband took it down himself in 20 mins and it packed easily into the bag, pegs were nice and strong, even though our pitch was rock hard. Bedroom pods are cosy, don't let too much light in the mornings, just about enough room to get changed in. This tent easily sleeps 6, though you could get 3 kids in each pod and more in sleeping area if you needed! Has an extra porch area outside tent, but will probably invest in the canopy as handy for bad weather.

Tent does get very hot on a warm day, but thats ok as we enjoy sitting outside having a drink!

So glad we bought this, excellent value.

Just arrived home after spending three nights in out new Sahara 6 tent. We brought as price was excellent at £229 and the space fantastic for a family. Both my children can have there own pod if required which will be handy in years to come as they get older. Living area perfect space you can really live in this tent. We only booked three nights as we always feel ready to come home in our smaller more compact tent after a couple of nights, wish we booked longer as a family (and dog)in all weather you can really live in this tent.

The footprint is a must with this tent as you can really plan where to place it due to its shape this really helps. We spent ages deciding. The carpet is also a excellent purchase and adds to comfort. Sewn in ground sheet also a big plus.

Overall if you are looking for space and comfort this is a great family tent would highly recommend cannot wait to go camping again now.

Pretty straight forward to put up and take down no real issues there. Was worried after one comment about pitch sizes and price due to size of tent. No problem so far most campsites now accommodate for the larger tents being manufactured today.

Love it! We bought ours from go outdoors for £229.99 which was a bargain. Also bought footprint. Put up in the pouring rain. Arrived at the site at 6.15 and we were drinking a cold cider by 7.30! that includes blowing up beds and setting up electric etc. It poured down all night and it stayed dry and cosy. We have had a large tent before and are a double act as we both know our jobs so probably quicker than a novice camper.

We have been keeping an eye on the costs of the canopy and carpet and have just purchased as they have become half price. Thank goodness we waited. This is definitely the tent that will give others tent envy!

We bought this tent on sale from Go Outdoors as our first family tent. We'd looked at cheaper models but I was quite insistent that I wasn't going to save money at the risk of putting the family off camping.

The main reasons for buying this tent were the spacious living area and the separate bedroom pods (one each for the kids and one for me and the wife).

Following all the good advice on UKCampsite we attempted to put the tent up in our garden, only to find out we don't have a 7mx7m clear piece of grass anywhere in the garden. Despite this we spent some time practising and identified the areas we struggled with.

The main issue is the poor instructions with the tent, a simple sheet of steps that don't explain enough (for first-timers anyway). If they added 4 pictures to cover key areas it would make them much better. The main area we struggled with was the pin and ring system (not having put a tent up in 30 years that was new to me). In the end we viewed another manufacturers website and went to see the one on display in Go Outdoors.

We bought the optional footprint as one thing we found was that moving the whole tent around to get the door facing the right way and the pods out of the way of surrounding objects is quite a big job. Now we put the footprint down in about 10 minutes then just put the tent on top.

This weekend was our first outing, a single night at a local campsite so we could practice again. Main tent up in about an hour with two of us working together, can definitely improve on that. To take it all down and load the car took about 2 hours (but it is a small car).

The tent met all our expectations, when the rain came during dinner we just picked up our chairs and moved into the living area. Plenty of space for toys, excited children and privacy for parents looking for that moment of golden silence. We stayed dry and fairly warm given the weather and keeping the net door closed meant no bugs to cause screaming inside the tent.

We bought this tent and had a practice putting it up in our garden before we went away with it. My husband managed to do this on his own in an hour! With two of us putting it up, it took us both about 40 minutes. Not hard to put up either.

Very spacious, with three huge bedrooms. The living area is big enough for a group of eight to sit in on a windy night with room to spare.

I personally love this tent and am so glad we bought it, loads of space, front and back door and haven't had any problems with leaking at the seams etc and is very sturdy in high winds.

Awesome tent!

Bought this tent last summer 2010, used it twice now. Lovely roomy tent, stands up well to all weather. Easy to pitch with two people only takes 30 mins. The only downside to this tent is the packed size, it is quite large and heavy. We didn't seem to have much problems packing even as novices. We did buy the fitted carpet and I think it does make a difference especially in early/late season.

I love it. I've just come back from my 3rd outing in it but my 1st of this year. Took me and my sister just over an hour to put it up. Bought the template for this outing and I must admit made it easier to see what goes where and avoids twists when putting it up.

I was going to invest in the carpet but have decided against it. The pods are roomy and comfortable, no draft even in the windiest of weather.

The living area has to be my favourite bit as I hate feeling cramped up. This doesn't happen as there is plenty of room to roam around and the top of the tent is a good 2 foot above my head.

Have only spent 2-3 nights in it so far but venturing out in it for a full 7 nights at the end of May, non electric. I may live to regret that part!

We bought this tent off Ebay for £200 brand new and was a worthwhile investment. We bought the footprint too which was a massive help when erecting the tent. We've just recently bought a carpet for it but decided on the Gelert beyond zenith 6 one as we preferred the colour and it fits perfectly. This was also cheaper than the Hi gear equivalent, it was £54 (inc p&p) from campmania.

It is very simple and self explanatory to erect. It took us a couple of hours to put it up but it was very windy.

We love the fact that it has a built in groundsheet as the dogs can't escape!

We've just used it for the 1st time for 4 days and can't wait to use it again in July for a week in Wales.

Would highly recommend

We have just come back from our 6th holiday in this tent. Yet again it lives up to every expectation we have. This year we added the porch to the tent also for a bit of additional cooking space etc however it is in the 2011 fabric so doesn't match and looks a little tacky!

This tent generally takes 45 minutes for the 2 of us to erect but is fairly simple and easy after a few goes. We only have 2 of the bedrooms in our tent as we use one of the bedroom areas for additional storage space.

I really do enjoy staying in this tent for long periods of time, and would happily have a 2 week break in this as I don't feel closed in at all with the high ceilings and centre area. We have splashed out on the carpet - couldn't get the hi-gear one so got the equivalent (Gelert I think) which originally when I saw it thought it was a big old rip off - but actually it came in useful. We also have the wind break which makes for a nice area in and outside that can be private if required. I love this tent and plan to have many more happy holidays in it!

Having looked at the newer model it looks tacky and inferior quality - can't quite understand why they have changed this?!?
