I have been camping with this tent twice now and it has been great. The bedrooms are a good size. I love the little fly mesh tops to the doors so l can see if the children are still asleep without disturbing them. The tent is easy to put up and l can do it with my six year old daughter holding the pole in one end while l put the other end into the pin. The colour coded poles are great however the very bottom bits with the pins are not colour coded so l sometimes need to switch a few over at the end. I think l may need to stitch some coloured thread onto the fabric at the pin ends so l don't get muddled up in future. The living space is a fantastic size and very light with all the Windows. I love the carpet it is so soft under foot.

This is our third year of using our Voyager 6 and guys its the blue one not the new model in green. We love our Voyager and so do most people who come inside to view it. Like a few people we bought ours in a sale approx £169 ish. We went to buy an Outwell at Go Outdoors and it was throwing it down and the tent we were going to buy was flooded and was £395. We only went in to the Voyager to take shelter out of the rain. Once inside we were stunned at the size of it. Like other reviews we could stand up inside it and there was plenty of room and no wet puddles inside which impressed us both.

We have just come back from our 3rd trip in France and guys once treated with Nikwax before putting away this tent will give us another 3 years of safe camping. It is so reliable it just does not let you down. We love it. We have always used a porch with it which we bought on line for £65 from Argos in their sale. So look around if you need a porch as I thought Hi Gear was just for Go Outdoors.

My daughter has just bought the Voyager Elite after borrowing our tent so that speaks volumes for the model. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good value and reliable tent.

We originally bought this tent in 2011 due to a very good deal on price at Go Outdoors.

We had been looking for something with lots of space for group camping trips and this was exactly what we had been searching for.

Unfortunately there was a problem with our tent leaking which we did not discover until after the 1 year warranty period was over. After a bit of back and forth with Go Outdoors we amicably & fully resolved this issue and now had a new Voyger 6 Elite which we are very happy with. Fully watertight and everything!

Plus Points:

LOTS of space and height.

Can be pitched by 2 people but 3 or 4 is easier. (might be difficult with 2 people if it's windy!)

The secret to pitching is to get one person inside pushing up the poles from middle.

Negatives:

In rain the sloped front door drips inside when you open it. We now take a small picnic rug away with us to compensate for this. If you have the space & money I think you can get a porch addition for this tent which would help this.

The original came with 2 poles to make the front door into an porch. The new one didn't. However I bought some more poles for 7 or 8 quid from GoOutdoors and that solved that minor quibble.

In Conclusion:

Massive tent, Good Price.

OMG I love this tent. I am new to camping but got the bug after my first time. I went to an 80's festival last year and took a small 4 berth dome tent, this did the job but me and my husband got tent envy looking at everyones bigger/flasher units. Noticed this one on sale in Go Outdoors and after reading positive reviews purchased it. I cannot get over how amazing this tent is. It's soooooo spacious you could have a party in it. It's easy to put up by two people although I know I probably couldnt do it, I'm too short. It's coped in heavy rain and a bit of wind. I purchased the carpet (husband rolled his eyes, but agreed it was definitely worth it) I purchased extra poles to make the doors into porches too. I have a purchased a foot print, but from a well known selling site as I thought the Hi Gear ones were pricey. The tent has been pitched three times so far, each time we have managed to get in back into the bag, so that's a result! On its last erection the elastic snapped in the main pole, my husband initially panicked but together we managed to re-create the pole and all was fine. We will be purchasing spare elastic for our next trip, just in case. As I said, I love this tent to bits and hope it will serve us a good few years. If you are thinking of buying one, I can recommend whole heartedly.

I have purchased one of theses In Green and I think it is excellent value for money, the Green ones have a higher hydro static head than the older blue ones, don't know if there was a reason for this but ours stayed dry in a very persistent and heavy 2 day down poor space stability and design all great, although a rain porch on the door would have been nice, we have purchased a porch and carpet for it but not used these yet, love the tent

We've been away in our Hi gear voyager elite 6 three times since we've owned it and we couldn't be more pleased with it. We didn't want to spend an absolute fortune on a tent but we wanted something large with a good living space for bad weather.

We've encountered all types of weather, we even survived hurricane Burtha in it whilst camping down at Croyde bay in Devon. We've camped through thunder/lightening, heavy rain, strong winds and even sunshine.

We can't find much we don't like about this tent, the only slight niggle is the rain coming in the doors but we stopped that by not unzipping the doors all the way and making sure the bottom of the door stayed outside. But we have now invested in the porch so problem solved.

We sleep four in the large bedroom pod with two double air beds and use the small pod for storage and changing, this leaves the living area clear of clutter.

It took me and my partner around 20 minutes to put it up but it did take longer the first time we did it, but it is a very easy tent to put up and take down. We've even taken it down in the dark without any problems. Having the footprint does make pitching easier as you can see exactly the area your tent will be going. We also have the carpet, definitely makes the tent more cosy and protects the groundsheet from chair legs etc, my partner did say that it's not an essential but after we've used it a few times I think he's changed his mind, it does move around slightly but we have got some sticky Velcro to hold the corners in place.

Overall, we love this tent, everything we wanted for a bargain price! It would have been a 10 if it wasn't for the rain coming in the door but we did wander if this is done on purpose so you buy the porch extension. It's a lovely tent with loads of space and it doesn't break the bank!

We are only a family of four but we bought this tents as it has a really large living space with a great head height. I am 5 foot 3 inches and can only just reach the top of the tent at full stretch! We have had eight of us plus camping table inside the tent during bad weather.

The first year we used the tent we did not have any leaks but this year we had a couple but they will easily be rectified. Hence the 9 out of 10.

The sleeping compartment for 2 would be a little on the snug side for me but the children did not complain. I love the large 4 berth one and in the past all four of us have slept there in comfort.

Overall a great tent, the best of the three that we have owned.

We have had the voyager 6 for 3 years now and love it. We bought it for several reasons after looking a dozens of others. We wanted a decent tent at a good price. Bought at Go Outdoors in the sale, we wanted a tent that would have lots of room for two without being enormous but could comfortably have 4 adults in when needed. But It was the large living area that sold it to us.

It is easy to pitch but it does take two of us to do it.

We use the large bedroom with double air bed and the smaller pod for storage. When the weather has not been good we have had friends sitting inside and there as been loads of space. Their more expensive much bigger tents do not have the living area space the voyager has.

We bought the carpet this year and got electric hook up for the 1st time to which I am now a convert. Can't believe I resisted for so long.

Our tent has stood up to wild winds and rain but has never let us down. The only disadvantage which is more troublesome than a problem and has been mentioned before is that the front door lets in water when it is opened. However to solve this and to add even more space when we go to France next year for two weeks we have just bought the porch In a half price sale.

Overall a great tent at a good price . Would not hesitate to recommend . Especially if bought in a sale.

We bought this tent primarily because we needed space and comfort which we have from this tent. Easy to erect, snug in all weathers, it is perfect for us (Us being two old codgers who prefer to glamp rather than camp). The height and space in the main part is brilliant - with the carpet insitu it feels like home from home. We use the large 4 man area as our bedroom (complete with picnic rugs and an inflatable king size bed), and the smaller sleeping pod as a storage area. I love this tent and would highly recommend it.

OH and I have had this tent for 3 or 4 yrs now. We have used it regularly in snow, rain and screaming winds. We have also been the last tent standing once in one terrible gale - partly because we always peg-out properly but also due to this being a decent tent. In really bitter weather, we have had a night of -10c, we have moved into the large inner berth with our heater and seats and continued our evening as before. This was the only occasion when we have had any sign of condensation.

Air vents fore and aft do need to be monitored and would be improved with a dab of sticky backed Velcro but on hot nights are a blessing.

The only issues we have had is the lack of a pole key thing (sorry)on one of tent straps and the occasional cracked tent poles.

After some years of using this tent I am entirely satisfied with it and have no reservations in recommending it to you- especially if you can get it during a discount weekend at Go Camping.

Manufacturer's Description

A strong, stable and spacious 6-person tent with large windows and generous headroom.

Built using a strong semi-geodesic structure, the Hi Gear Voyager Elite 6 is an easily-pitched tent with room to accomodate 6 campers and all their gear.

It has a large, full-standing-height bedroom area, which can be adapted to convert some of the space into storage quarters if needed.

The groundsheet is sewn in, meaning you get no unwanted draughts, moisture or bugs getting in. Multiple windows (and mesh panels) let you control how much sunlight gets in, and maintain your privacy. The large front door and additional side door give you easy access for you and your gear, and also let you control ventilation.

It's stable enought to stand up to very windy conditions, with the cross-pole design giving it extra strength and flexibility.

A versatile tent that's great for families, groups of friends or festival-goers - and don't forget, you can add extra comfort and insulation by choosing the Hi Gear Voyager Elite Carpet, and extend your sheltered space by adding on the Hi Gear Voyager Elite 6 Porch.
