I bought the porch for my Zenobia at the same time as the tent, wanting somewhere covered to cook and extra living space.

I like the concept of the side porch, and the windows and door and full zip open are excellent ideas. Where it falls down is its fit to the tent and poor guying.

All of the example zenobia porches I have seen at go-outdoors have never been a snug fit.

After my second trip with the porch I have to conclude that there is just no way to get a really snug fit to the tent, the elasticated part that goes over the tent fits snugly but stops short where the poles are. There is no way to get the tent side pole close enough to the tent and stay there, there is always a gap of an inch to two between the tent and the canopy.

This is made worse by the slightest breeze, any sign of a breeze results in the canopy bowing inwards, reducing the usable space inside. This is made worse by the poor guying - the front tapes are too short to provide much horizontal force to keep the front pole vertical, and the rear pushes the whole tent down rather than provide force to keep the rear poles upright. The guys on the pole corners also don't provide enough pull, and the rear pair (closest to the tent) cant be pegged backwards to provide much force as the tent itself is in the way.

To make matters worse the tapes are non-adjustable, and you will end up repegging a number of times to adjust the tension.

The idea of the porch is great, and you really need one to provide extra space to the zenobia, I just wish Higear (or Gelert!) had made sure it fitted better!

I bought this porch mainly for cooking and eating in and, to keep sun loungers and table in during the night, and for some where to sit when the weather is doing its usual thing, raining. It was ideal for the purpose I bought it for.

The reason I gave it an 8 and not a 10 is the difficulty I had to get a snug fit to the tent took me ages to get it right, but to be honest it was the first time I had used it and in future it may be easier to get it right. Over all a really good bit of kit and adds a lot more room.

We got this to give us a cooking and covered seating area. It was frankly a bit tight for both purposes, and there were only two adults and two kids in our party.

However it did keep all the kitchen and outdoor seating etc dry when it rained (which was frequently.) without fouling the inside of our tent with mud and messy cooking stuff.

Also we felt more secure leaving it all when we went off for days out, because it's got a full door.

It is not, however, marauding chicken proof! They got in under the bottom of the door and rifled the grocery box. And because I'd left the tent door half open to let some air in (it was one of the rare sunny days) the little blighters got into the bedrooms too.

If it is lovely weather, you can take the whole door off and have an airy, shady awning to chill out with.

Not too difficult to set up, two adults definitely better than one though. You need to throw these tapes over the top of the main tent you're attaching it to, which caused some dark remarks about 'playing cricket for England, you bowl badly enough'.

Well worth £80.

We got this porch to give us a bit more space and boy does it score on that front.

The only gripe I had was that it was difficult to put up with ease(to blokes struggled), this may have been down to the fact that we had not tried it out before hand, but it was a tight fit and required a bit of force to get the canopy into the poles.

Having said that my mate and his wife were impressed with it when it was up and the fact that you have the versatility of the door was great (nothing left out in the open). On the whole a very good addition to our tent.
