I use this tent with my daughter and it is just right for us. It is very easy to pitch and strike, fits in the bag and is very solid in the wind.
We can pitch it in about 15 minutes and like the fact that you can leave the bedrooms in.
In a storm it is very stable, no drafts come in and it doesn't flap around too much. There is plenty of room for two people and all of our gear and it was a really good buy. The only gripe is that there is a weak point on the side door zip that in time could cause a problem and the sides by the bedrooms can tend to be a bit loose which could lead to water ingress if the wind was in the wrong direction.

Bought this a few years ago and used it for a few weekend trips in differing weather, sun, rain, wind etc.
The tent has been brilliant in all areas and we have enjoyed using it. The side porch is great for stopping rain coming in when opening the door if it’s raining. The carpet makes it snug whilst the zip to join the two bedrooms in to one is useful as you can then easily fit two double airbeds in.
The only negatives are the straps are very tight to fit on the bottoms of the poles and we struggled to get the sides by the bedroom tight, meaning they could touch the inner causing water ingress. Oh, the side door zip can be a bit tight if you aren’t careful pitching.

Bought this tent in a sale at end summer 2010. It is easy to pitch and stable. Good ventilation. Good living area and 2 sleeping areas both the size of a double mattress. There is plenty of room for the 3 of us- 2 adults and one 5 year old. We could not get an awning or canopy as this tent has now been discontinued - one of these would have been handy when it rains to be able to use the front door. The side door has a handy small canopy which is necessary to stop rain getting in when entering tent.
East to erect and to strike although quite heavy.
Made of light material so quite light in the morning and evening which is not ideal for trying to get a small child to sleep!Otherwise a good tent

I got this tent to take to Wales with last year to accommodate both me and my son.
We have a Vango equinox that is a real pig to put up due to having to thread the poles through the external flysheet.
The Minnesota is just so much easier to put up.
We suffered horrendous weather in Wales and ours was one of the few tents left standing after a night of what can only be described as extreme weather. Not one drop of water came in
For a small family this tent is ideal.
For the two of us there is ample room and all I can say is that it is one of the best tents I have owned

We bought the Minny a couple of years ago and we have used it for both long weekends away and for a weeks holiday. If you're going to use the tent for anything more than a long weekend you do need the front extension otherwise it can get a bit cramped with all the equipment inside (this could just be the amount of gear we have lol).
Our previous tent had fibre glass poles and even though it was smaller than the minny 4 it took us around an hour to put up, or even longer if there was any wind. The minny 4 takes us 30 minutes at most to erect and the front extension only adds about 10 minutes to this.
One reviewer has asked whether the canopy over the side door would be any good when it rains and we can truthfully say that when it is raining and you don't have the front extension it is a god send as it stops the inside of the tent getting soaked when you go in or out.
On the whole we would recommend this tent to any couple but if you have a couple of kids you will need something bigger.

We looked at loads of 4 berth tents before choosing this one and made the decision based on price, user reviews and makers reputation. We were not disappointed. We found it easy to pitch particularly with the inner tent left in. We found the completely sewn in groundsheet a godsend as our two dogs like to make a bolt for freedom through the sides! We have the usual gripes-the front door slopes and you get wet when it is opened-the ring and pins are very stiff at first. Another gripe that we haven't seen yet is the positioning of the ehu flap. This is on the same side as the side door which means you have limited space to put a tv table or whatever, it would have been better the other side.
There are two of us plus the dogs and find the size perfect and with the addition of the front extension it is ideal. A hint on fitting the front extension - fix the two top straps first before anything else as it is a nightmare to fix them once everything is erected. All in all a great set up for two and would recommend.

Have used this tent on numerous occasions, I believe that it has now been superseded by the Wyoming 4, overall it has given great service through some indifferent weather, the tent on its own is best suited for 2 people thus giving you enough space for storage, but with the front extension it will comfortably take a family of 4.
Well built, easy to pitch, we will only upgrade as the kids get bigger.

We bought one of these when our shock corded tent showed signs of turning inside out when perched on a Welsh coastal clifftop. What attracted us was the solid support afforded by the external steel framework which also means that it can be erected by one person.
We camp in a group and a requirement was that there was seating available for several of us and the Minnesota 4 provides this. We also bought the canopy to go with the tent and this has proven to be worth the money.
After a couple of years the front extension was available and we bought one of these also. Noting that the pole spacing on the tent, canopy and extension were the same, we mounted the extension then the canopy. This gave us a considerable amount of extra space and protection from the worst the Norfolk skies could lob at us.
My only gripe is the shock corded pole over the side porch which is forced into a tight curve and tend to snap. I asked Outwell if the steel ferrule could be curved to take some of the force off the fibre glass poles which after consideration, they said no.

We love this tent, always very easy to pitch, very sturdy in the wind. We have it with the canopy instead of the extension whic works well, giving a bit of protection in the rain.
We use this as our family tent for all conditions, with 2 adults and 1 child it's very roomy. Next year the child will have a tent of his own for privacy so we'll be using the 2 pods as 1 and having camp beds for the first time, can't wait.
My only negative is the the roof panel above the main living areas leaks. Not along the seams, but the panel itself lets water through in any kind of rain. We use Fabisil to counter this but it is annoying

We decided on the Minny 4 after looking at what felt like hundreds of tents online and in stores. We did not have a great experience of Outwell last year as we bought a Nevada M and had to return it for a refund, so weren't sure we would risk Outwell again. However this tent seemed to meet most of our requirements, coupled with the fact that we were able to buy it at a great price from Taunton Leisure online in January 2010. We paid less for the tent together with the extension, than the 2010 price for the tent alone!
So far this year we have used our tent for 20 nights including our two week main holiday recently. We did have rain all day one day so it did get a rain test. We noticed a little seepage on the floor by one of the doors which seemed to be coming up from the floor, but this was easily fixed by some seam sealer.
This tent is a good size for us as a couple, a bit smaller than the Nevada M, which is a little large for just a couple, but I think for a family, especially on a main holiday, the Minny would be too small. It is classed as a 4 berth, but unless you just take sleeping bags and a small cooker it would be a squash. We fitted our table, two chairs and our camping cupboard in the living area without being too cramped. The shape of the tent floor is good as it does not taper towards the front door which makes a great difference.
As we have the extension, we leave the cooker under there, which avoids getting condensation inside the tent. There are plenty of vents on the sides of the tent and over the doors.
The tent poles are steel and we noticed a big difference there as well over fibre glass poles. The tent felt a lot more sturdy in the wind. The completely sewn in groundsheet is great and provides a draught free tent. Both doors also have mesh on which can provide privacy or cut down on draught. We found the pole on the rain door canopy made the door tight when closing the zip. We have improved this though by cutting the length of the pole down a little. The majority of the tent pegs that are provided with the tent are plastic. A lot of them are now broken or bent, so we invested in some decent rock pegs that will hopefully last a long time.
If you need to spend any time in your tent due to the weather, the large windows enable you to remain connected to the world outside.
The bedroom pods can either be used as two separate rooms or the middle panel unzipped to form a larger room. You can even unzip one and just use the space in the tent. There is enough space for a double air bed in either one.
The complete tent pack is quite heavy, but as the poles come in their own bag this can be carried apart from the tent, so would make it a lot lighter. Outwell always give you generous bags for your tent, which makes putting it away much easier.
We bought the footprint groundsheet with the tent, which makes a big difference to keeping the bottom of your tent clean. It is much easier to clean the footprint when you get home than the bottom of your tent. It probably takes you longer putting your tent up though, as you have to make sure the footprint is covered completely.
I think that canopy poles should be provided for the main door though for people who don't have the extension. We had a cheap tent from Argos originally and canopy poles were even provided with that one.
Overall we are happy with our Minny. I have just dropped a couple of points for the tight pole on the side door and the lack of canopy poles.
