I have had 3 Outwell tents but by far this is my favourite, the living area is great and the 2 bedrooms are of equal size so no fighting hehhe. Pitching the tent it fairly easy if you know what your doing I recommend youtube for this thats how I learnt. Packing this tent away isn't easy as the bag it came with is not very forgiving so take your time and get it right cos this part can be quite frustrating. The children love this tent cos they have more space to spread out

Have just come back from our first camping trip with this tent which was bought to replace our previous Vango tunnel tent.

I love it! The sewn in groundsheet is a big advantage over our old tent - but the main thing that we couldn't stop commenting on was the space. More than big enough for us and our two girls to relax, play and eat and not be tripping over each other - and plenty of headroom too. No more banging my head on the lantern. Very airy and light too thanks to the many windows - which are tinted and also can be zipped up for privacy or at night.

We got the footprint too which helped with pitching and also added a bit of insulation plus a carpet which made it feel much cosier inside.

We also took the awning - which was fine for a week but decided that if we go away for just a weekend we would just take the tent itself. It's more than enough.

Pitching was relatively easy with two of us. Pegging out took time due to the large number of guys and pegging points. However, packing away was a bit more of a challenge and we struggled to get everything back in the tent bag.

Yes it's a heavy tent to transport, but you do feel safe and secure in it even in strong winds.

I think it's a perfect family tent and cannot wait to use it again.

Bought this tent to replace our ancient Conway trailer tent. We can't fault it, it is very well made, we have as much living area as our old camper. Stood up to some very wet and windy weather in Wales this year. The porch is the best part of it, invaluable when it is wet, windy or muddy, our carpet stayed immaculate. Although the porch is low, it has to be to work aerodynamically. Overall height of tent would suit even a very tall man. We take all our creature comforts with us and it's like being at home. We had many admiring comments and probably managed to sell one to a couple who had a guided tour! Although the steel poles are a bit heavy in the bag, they are so much more sturdy than aluminium. Much quicker to put up than a camper and easy to get square on a footprint, a lot of guys but this is the price you pay for a tent that claims to stand up to a Force 10 gale. Zip up curtains are real time-savers and panoramic view is great even on a wet day. Our new game on returning home is 'try and think how Outwell can possibly improve on this for next year's model'. Only thing we can come up with is a way to get mains lighting into sleeping pods

Fantastic, very spacious tent. We are a family of 3 and it suits us just fine. We have used it with 2 friends staying in it and still plenty of room.

Used this Aug 2013 - heavy rain with no problems at all. Very impressed!

Easy pitching and taking down, bag could be bigger but once you have got into the swing of folding it down it does fit first time (honest!)

Front awning is a must - gives added space, we use as kitchen area.

Used 3 times in 2013, feeling sad that we are putting away now until 2014. Highly recommend this tent

We recently picked a Montana 6P up ex-display for a bargain price. Although we have now only used it for a couple of nights, I am very pleased with what we got.

There are a couple of minor niggles - the shock cord is broken on one of the sections of one pole, and there are some zip pulls missing, but I can easily live with that, or could ask about buying spares from the manufacturer.

The weather was somewhat windy and very wet during our trip, and the tent coped with no problems whatsoever. I found the rain porch to be a nice touch, as we could enter and leave without opening the main door and letting the water in.

I have to say that it would be a squeeze to fit 6 adults in the inner tent, but it is acknowledged that this tent is meant to sleep 4 comfortably. There is ample living space, and the number of large windows make it feel very airy. These can be covered by zip-up blinds if a little privacy is wanted.

The tent pitches and strikes easily (although I took my time doing both). It does seem very hard to get it back into the bag, but I think this can be said for a great many tents.

Excellent tent,very strong and stable and looks the business,we love our tent.We cant fault it.Buy the footprint and carpet and you will be a happy camper.We always get compliments and interest from other campers and even let them have a look round.Its a good size without being too big.

Find a package deal online then let Go Outdoors beat the price by 10%.

I would have a trial run of putting the tent up and making sure you have everything as we did not have the pegs and have a good look around for manufacturing floors.

We put the footprint down,peg the back corners of the tent with the anchor metal pegs get the poles ready,insert the first pole into the pin then go to the other side and do that and pull the pin strap tight while an helper holds the other side stable,peg the back guy rope and repeat the pole process.We then make sure the poles are inline and the tents pulled to the front to fit the footprint then use the anchor pegs and pull the straps.Use the black pegs and peg the skirts down.Once your front is pegged down and your happy peg the poles down and the rest of the tent and then do the guy ropes.This is how we do it and we don't fallout and it works for us,sit back and relax and admire your tent with a drink of your choice.

I love my monty only used it a couple of times, there is only two of use and a dog but I like loads of room which there is plenty of. If the weather is bad there is more than enough room for us my sister, her husband and dogs to sit in the living area its very easy to put up and no proplem with strong winds.We use the side porch for a toilet area at night saves running down to the toilet block.

This is the perfect family tent. We absolutely loved our Montana 6. The bedrooms are very spacious we had 2 camp beds in each bedroom with plenty of room left over to store clothes. We also had a front extension which was used as kitchen/clothes drying space(it also housed our trailer) and used the very large front area as lounge. The side porch housed a camping toilet, which was very handy for middle of the night emergencies. Overall fantastic tent. Cannot fault it.

Picked up a brand new Montana 6 last year for a bargain (less than half price) But until last weekend 26/4/13 never had the chance to test pitch it.So used a ukcs meet up as the ideal time to do so(Plenty of fellow members about to help pitch)

Following is a limited review(1st impressions) of the 2012(Mocha)Montana 6

Pitching.Found the tent really easy to pitch loosely following the Outwell video way of doing so.And though I had plenty of helping hands on the test pitch can see no problems with doing so myself

Quality.Impressed with the quality of all components to the tent from the 10'000 hh to the wind stabilizing system that secures the guys to the steel poles.Hanging points in the living area.Organizer pockets on the front of the sleeping pods.And all other stitching points around the tent seem to be of the best workmanship

Size.Excellent head height throughout the tent from the sleeping pods to the living area.Used the Monty as a cook tent for the meet.And had 6 adults milling about at meal times.And I personally never felt crowded or that we got in each others way.Small enclosed porch will be handy for entry to the tent on wet days.But will probably be used for storage most times.

Two cookers(on tables) one food storage cupboard and a further table for food prep in the living area.And still plenty of room to move about without feeling crowded.Plenty of good sturdy guying points round the tent.Ring and pin system and adequate tensioning straps around the base of the tent secured it firmly to the ground and it never moved in the wind we had from time to time over the weekend.

Sunshine.Wind and showers over the weekend.No leaks or other defects to report.Though I was too busy enjoying myself to make a detailed inspection.But all seemed fine on a cursory look round.

Plenty of covered ventilation points kept the tent condensation free.So no issues there.

One or two personal dislikes that don't distract from the overall satisfaction with the tent but thought might be worth a mention.

1) No zips around the base of the tent doors.Just velcro fastenings along the bottom to hold it in place.Fiddly to try and attach from inside the tent.Sloping doors.Have to be careful opening during/after rain as they have a tendency to drip into the tent on entry/leaving.

2) Sleeping pods.Seems plenty of room for four folk.Tight squeeze if any more in there.

Fully zipped up doors with mossy netting across the top 3rd of the door.Found these upsetting on two counts.

1) No privacy curtains to toggle/zip into place across these mesh openings.So if sharing with family friends make you presence known if getting changed etc.

2)Again no cover on mesh windows which allowed cold air to circulate from the living area into the pod on the two cold nights we had.A zipped or toggled curtain would have helped to keep the pod a bit warmer imho.Granted.Handy for ventilation during summer etc.

Gave the tent a rating of 8/10 because of the sloping doors.The uncovered mesh windows and the fact that I was too busy enjoying myself to do a detailed study of the temt.Will rectify this on my main camping holiday later this year

Bit of a rambling review.But hope it helps anyone considering this tent.

We bought this tent second hand off a family who'd used it for 5 or 6 holidays; it was in really good condition with no repairs or missing parts. They gave us a few tips on how to put it up/take it down which were useful but I wish we'd watched the video from Outwell first as there are some really good tips on there (recommend any new owners watch the vid!).

Our fist trip started with a fairly strong breeze but we managed to get the tent up OK with four of us (fortunately we have two tall teenagers to help!), but looking at the Outwell video afterwards, we did do it wrong and it looks easier the way they do it. Once up it was great with a nice high roof and plenty of space - the carpet is a lovely touch and something we'd not used before as the last tent we owned was about 10+ years ago and I think the carpets are a newer thing.

The bedroom pods are good for four people and although it is supposed to be a 6 person tent, I think six would be pushing it (unless they were 6 very slim people!). However I think that most people who go camping know that you generally need a bigger tent than the amount of people in your group.

There are lots of good things about this tent (height being one of the big draws for us) - a couple of other things I'd like are a few more storage areas in the bedrooms as the person who sleeps against the outside wall gets places to put stuff but the ones who sleep in the middle don't and I found the 'porch' door a bit too fiddly to open from the inside as it's on quite a slant and when the zip is right down at the bottom it's hard to reach without getting on your hands and knees (kind of forcing a person back to their tiny 2 man tent days!)

But all in all, it's a great tent and I look forward to using it again.
