This is our weekend away tent, along with canopy, FPGS and carpet. It takes just 30 mins to pitch and fill, unlike our Maui Reef and canopy, etc. That we use for longer holidays and takes anything up to an hour and a half to set up.

The Nevada is perfect for the two of us with loads of room for our (considerable) camping accessories. Very comfortable, stable and importantly, dry. Highly recommended. Would sleep 4 comfortably but 5 would be stretching its limits. Canopy, footprint groundsheet and carpet are all excellent (and in my opinion, essential) accessories.

We have owned bigger tents but this one fits the bill 100%. Like other reviewers, I recommend pegging corners, opening door then pitching one pole at a time, pegging guys as you go. Much easier.

We're a family of 4, with the kids being 2 and 4 when we got it. We wanted a tent that would be used 3-4 times a year and last us at least 6 years. It also had to be light enough that I could carry it on my own long distances - we like to attend music festivals. My wife wasn't 100% sure she would keep up the camping, being relatively new to it, so we didn't want to spend too much.

We're in our 3rd season now, and I think we made the right choice. We've experienced no problems, unlike many of our camping friends whose cheaper tents often leak. If we continue to look after it, it should last us many more years.

The size is perfect for us, with plenty of room for storing our gear and sitting around a small table.

It's relatively easy to erect, though it does help to have two sets of hands.

My immediate gripe was the lack of integrated awning or overhang. We bought the awning last year to rectify this, and can see why they are sold separately - a smaller cover just wouldn't have been enough.

Other reviewers also complain about the plastic pegs. I have to agree - they are rubbish. We've damaged about 25% of them already, and I'm planning on replacing them this year. Not really a big deal though.

Highly recommended overall, if you are looking for a good quality, good value family tent.

We're still using our Nevada 4 years after buying it and love it! have read the reviews of more recent models and some of the improvements sound great (particularly darkened bedrooms. We chose Outwell over Vango as we liked the light colour for the daytime, but it does mean you wake up early!) As others have said, I wouldn't like to have to squeeze in 5 people. We fit 2 kids beds and 2 adult sized camp beds and there's not much room for moving about. The living space is generous and we have put chairs and table inside in bad weather. We did buy the extension though for storing and cooking and eating 'out'. A door on the extension would be perfect (I think the new ones might have that now)

It's easy to pitch and has more ropes than you need in normal weather but when all pegged down our tent has withstood some very strong winds (and very heavy rain with no leaks) It bends a bit as poles are flexible. We use large picnic mats instead of buying the carpet which I thought was expensive. The 3 doors mean you can keep the tent cool during a warm day, but the ways to roll up the curtain/net/door are a bit frustrating.

After plenty of short camping trips over the years, the Nevada is showing barely any signs of wear, but we're happy to keep it until our kids are old enough to want separate rooms (at the moment the option to unzip the room divider is great!) - or we can afford a new tent with inflatable poles!

I bought this tent as my first family tent for use with my two children, I found it to be a great small tent but you soon realise you need more room, so I added the front extension to it. The tent itself was quite easy to put up but do take your time as to my fears I did snap one of the poles luckily I did carry a spare. Im not a lover of the fibre glass poles since this happened as you feel when your bending them into shape they are going to snap. The carrying bag which came with the tent is great as it expands so not a lot of worrying about getting back to what it was

We bought one of these to replace a High Gear Gobi 4. We'd had nothing but trouble (a hole in the first one and serious leaking with the second) and the Nevada has been a whole huge step forward.

Over all, it's a really good design, nice and tall inside and there's a lot to like. The materials are all of top quality and the whole tent feels well made and solid when it's up.

In the wind it's solid and the (now common on other brands of tent) wind stabiliser system does help for a tunnel design tent. I've certainly not had problems with stability in the wind like some other reviewers have mentioned.

One of the things we particularly like is the divider between the rooms which zips in completely. This means that you get more privacy between the two rooms than with a toggle attached divider.

Of course the '5 berth' is a little optimistic if you want to sleep in comfort. Good for 4 people though.

It's full of nice little touches as well; the webbing around the top of the bedrooms means the rooms are better suspended and more sturdy. In turn, this means you can really use the pockets on the bedroom 'wall'. The porch area is quite generous; at a push you could get a table and 4 chairs in there.

Other key things we like are the fact you can pitch and strike with the inners in place which makes life a lot easier. Further, you can remove the smaller room which packs down to almost nothing to increase the size of the living space. Also, the fact that you get 3 doors (as mentioned elsewhere in the reviews) is great and allows you to air the tent well - having one with a rain porch is even better.

Finally, Outwell have nice big bags which are great. There's no need to kneel or sit on the tent bag trying to force the zip - just stick it all in and tighten up the straps.

We've only found a couple of negative points, all of which have been mentioned by others. The sloping profile makes for a handsome tent but it does mean that it has a tendency to dribble water into the tent. This is less of a problem with the side doors but it's still a minor niggle.

Also, the idea of colour coded pegs is brilliant but these ones are rubbish. First time we used one, the tip bent. Second one snapped. Having said that, we never really intended to use them anyway as we always use Blue Diamond Heavy Duty pegs for every tent to save fiddling around with bent and broken ones.

Over all, we love the Nevada; it's well made out of good quality materials, it's easy to pitch, solid in bad weather, plenty spacious for up to 4 people and even has darkened bedroom ceilings for a better nights sleep. We also have a footprint (which aids pitching and saves having to clean off the groundsheet once you get home) and the extension which adds the ability to cook under cover.

This tent should last us plenty of years.

Really happy with this tent. We have all the extras; the footprint, carpet and porch. The porch is fantastic and great for sitting out if it is a bit showery or breezy. Also good for cooking if the weather isn't great, and leaving outdoor shoes. Plenty of room for 4 adults but might be cosy for 5.

The only problem we had was when we pitched it in a windy site and the side-wind looked like it would squash it and we had to take it down. I think this is why one of our poles broke. The broken bit was easily replaced.

It is not the easiest or quickest tent to put up, but doesn't present any major problems.

We like our Nevada M. It was Ex display so half price !but think its a tight fit for 5, even with the front awning. I think the 3pod only comfortably fits 2 and the 2pod only comfortably fits 1 (we have a 6yr old and 2 teenagers). One person sleeps in the lounge area on two single blow up beds and this doubles up as as couch in the day/eve!Part of the lounge is used for storage. Not sure why there is a side door we only use it to air the tent though the mesh. We would probably buy a side awning if they made one! The tent is really well made and the curtains are a good idea. We use the front awning as a kitchen diner but will probably buy a day tent for this next year! I see us keeping this tent for a number of years whilst we expand our kit range! and hopefully see the benefit of a cheaper holiday!

I LOVE this tent! So easy and quick to erect, essential when you have two young children! Spacious, bright, thanks to the big windows, and more than ample height.

The only slight niggle is the sloping front, you need to remember to close it quickly if it rains, otherwise everything gets wet, but like I say, it's a small niggle, not a real problem.

Good quality product, would definitely recommend!

This is the first tent we have owned for family holidays as a family of three. We bought it as it had such good reviews and we are not disappointed. Even though this is a 5 berth tent, I think for comfort it lends itself to 4 maximum. Two adults, two children.

We have had one 4 day holiday with the tent so far and experienced really hot weather and also heavy rains and the tent stood up well - no leaks, and plenty of doors/windows for ventilation.

We purchased the front extension (open fronted) and so glad we did. This was our cooking area and gave a sheltered and relatively private place to sit out at night. This was quite sturdy during the winds and rain.

We hesitated buying the carpet, but having done so I would consider it an essential. It adds a tremendous amount of comfort to the tent.

Summary of the features we liked:

Light and airy with lots of windows/doors which have an insect mesh option which is a nice feature.

Generous living area which can be increased if we temporarily remove one of the sleeping compartments.

Three doors which help ventilate the tent in hot weather.

Some nice storage pockets in the bedroom partition - a minor feature but really very useful.

Lightweight and compact when packed away.

Velcro loops to keep the electric hookup wire tidy up to the ceiling where the light would be.

Quick to pitch (but see comments about the method of pitching below).

Things we did not like so much:

If you open the sloping doors when the it's raining or the tent is wet, then the water just runs straight in on to the floor. Not a good design feature. But front extension solves this for the front door.

The plastic tent pegs that come with the tent are dreadful any many broke first time - lucky we bought backups - easily replaced though.

The door sills are a little too high and caused us to trip a few times.

Yes, this tent is quite quick to pitch but we found that the Outwell method of putting the tent up (youtube) not as easy as it looks - the tent does not 'lift' that easy after the poles are inserted due to the air suction inside - felt like the poles would break under the initial strain. The crosscamping method on youtube looks a whole lot easier and quicker and we will try this next - they suggest pegging the four corners fist, then with front door unzipped to let air in, putting in the poles working from front to back.

On the whole really pleased with this tent - especially the generous living area which is useful in the changeable weather we get in the UK. I hope it will give us many happy holidays.

In my opinion its the best tent in the world, the Nevada m has everything we need and more.The only downside which lets Outwell down is the cheap pegs that come with the tent they fracture and snap which can be downright annoying.It is light and airey with lots of space,it looks amazing and is amazing in my opinion
