It's huge. Plenty of room inside even in bad weather. We've just ome back from 5 days in ours during which it blew a gale and threw it down monsoon style - it did come in a bit under the sides due to the ground sheet not being sewn in but it didn't cause any real issues and none of our stuff got wet, and it stood up to the conditions admirably. One of the poles did snap on our first trip out but I think that was probably our fault for trying to turn it whilst half up, we strengthened the joints with gaffer tape and now its fine.

As previously said as far as value for money goes this is fantastic, a few snags but fine for us!

Like many others I bought my tent end of season from Argos, paying around £100 in 2006. This older version has three opposing doors which can be pegged open on galvanised poles or rolled up. Either side of each door is a small triangular window with a curtain which can be rolled back making it generally light and airy.

Had I paid full catalogue price I would have marked the tent lower, but at £100-150 this is fantastic value for money.

Negatives first,

There is quite a gap between the outer sheet and the ground where the pods join the main dome, this makes the tent draughty. Adjusting the straps will not fully remove this gap. The problem is the lack of skirt around the pods.

It only has a hydrostatic head of 2000mm, less than most tents, some of which go to 6000mm. This means it will withstand less water before it leaks, though that said mine has seen torrential rain and the worst I have had is spots from one of the hook points.

The ground sheet is not sewn in, adding to the draft, and it does take some practice to pitch the tent 'square'. If you dont the groundsheet will not fit properly, although it does fit perfectly if you have the tent up straight.

It's sheer size is an issue, check with your campsite as you will need a pitch roughly 9m square for this tent.

The skirt around the main dome does not peg down, and so can get folded under and allow water running off the tent to pool on the ground sheet.

There is no flameproof kitchen area in this tent.

The front of the inner tents does not peg down, not a major issue, just annoying.

The Good Bits.

I have used this tent for everything from single camping to large groups. A reasonably competent person can put this tent up on their own, but it is quicker with two.

It is very easy to erect using carbon poles with a pin fix system.

Internal size is fabulous. It is quite possible for a family of six to live inside in poor weather. We can get the kitchen stand, washstand, dining table and stools plus 6 folding chairs inside easily.

Despite its erected size it packs into a bag no larger than an average holdall.

Mine has stood up to the worst of the weather with no serious leeks yet.

I have used the tent a number of times and there is no sign of wear, no broken poles, snapped shock cords or open seams.

The tent is held by around two dozen guy ropes in addition to perimeter pegging which make is rock solid even in the strongest winds.

You get what you pay for, if you don't want to put up with the downsides of this budget tent then go for something more expensive, but beware a good quality frame tent with this much space will set you back £1000 or more and fill the boot of an average family car.

If you want a low cost, family tent which is practical and hardwearing this is an excellent buy.

Mine is pitched with a couple of windbreaks and a few solar LED lights and has never failed to get admiring glances and comments.

We bought this tent last year to replace our smaller 6 man that we just out grew, managed to get it for about £100 in the sale. First thing that struck us was the size, its huge! plenty of room for a family of 5 and guests. Easy and straight forward to put up and doesn't take to long (about 3/4 an hour) for a tent of this size.

We've used it quite a few times now and found it to be extremely weather proof, my only concern being the air gaps around the pods, but a decent sized wind break soon sorts that out! I have seen in other reviews that some people mention the gaps let in water, however, the hook points have adjustable straps and when pulled tight, keep most of the water out. Overall, for the money, I don't think you can get anything as big or easy to live with. I would definitely buy one again.

Tent fantastic value (£150ish) end of season sale. Loads of room, we're a family of 7 and have eaten in the tent in the rain and plenty of room plus pods are spacious. Plenty of negs though. 1. If it rains don't expect it to be dry inside, we never had water from anywhere other than the gap around the bottom but it comes in, in bucket loads and can become a quagmire. 2. The tent is high in the middle but the pods are low and getting dressed and sorted is a real pain in the neck bending etc. 3. The tent is dark and can be a bit dingy 4. Although easy to set up, it does take a while because of separate pods etc. 5. The ground sheet will never stretch and fit perfectly 6. Our tent always ended up crooked, perhaps cos it's so big it just difficult to set out properly. We did have a good few years of fun with this tent though.

We also purchased this tent half price from argos, and I couldn't be happier with it. The space is unbelievable but so necessary with 4 kids two dogs and the great British summers we have! Unfortunately we managed to leave the main poles for the living area behind on one trip and could not manage to find a pro action manufacturer or parts supplier! The poles are a lot longer than those you can buy, so we have had to buy extra parts and make our own! I have owned many tents over the years as always looking for something better, this is it! We've camped in all sorts of weather and never had a problem!

This is our 2nd tent as we have a big family of 2 adults and 4 children. We decided to purchase this tent from Argos as it was half price.

Like most tents you can look at them in reality inside most of the major camping store outlets. But,as this tent was from Argos we could not do so and we therefore took the risk! Lets just say.We wished we had done our homework first before purchasing!

We arrived after a 5 hour car journey to a downpour and waited at least an hour to see if the rain would subside. It didn't! so we just decided to go for it and pitched in the rain. I must say that it was pretty straight forward for my husband and myself to put up.

Before I proceed with the negative aspects of this tent I must boast about the positive aspects. The living area. Wow!. What an impressive size. We underestimated how big the living area was when we bought the tent. The size was perfect for us as we wasnt crammed and we had plenty of space to do our own thing. This is ideal for when you need shelter from the rain, particularly when you have small kids. (Mine were 9, 7, 3 & 1)

During our weeks holiday the weather was a mixed bag of sun, heavy showers, wind and light rain.

Now for the negative views of this tent.Well, it leaked through every hook point on the inside walls when we had big downpours. The rainwater collected into small puddles on the ground sheet above where the hook points were. This was a nightmare especially when you have kids running about getting wet socks! During mid week the ground under the tent became very wet and muddy. The groundsheet was not strong enough as the seam running along the middle of the groundsheet had dirty mud coming through it every time you stood on it. As you can imagine walking about the tent got pretty dirty and unclean. The poor kids were nagged constantly.'don't stand on the seam'!

Another issue we experienced with this tent was that the groundsheet was not big enough. Exposure of grass was between the entrance of the bedrooms and as you can imagine this got very messy with dirty footprints everywhere! I was mopping up and cleaning mud every 5 minutes with kitchen roll! It was so annoying! We had to put heavy duty refuse bags down in the end to help keep these areas dry! However, the dirty rainwater found its way in! Water got in via the doorway along with drafts and a mass of flys and wasps. It was like fly city!

I would recommend to the manufacturers that if they produced this tent with a built in ground sheet and made it more waterproof then this would be the perfect tent. This tent was not up to scratch for us and we experienced all aspects of weather conditions.

We have learnt by our mistakes but at the end of the day when you buy a product you expect it to be of good quality.

Me and my husband nearly divorced over this tent, the amount of rows we had over it!

We brought this tent as we couldn't believe the price for the size - we got it half price in their sale. However beware that you get what you pay for. We found that it withstood strong wind well (Whitsun Bank Holiday) but water dripped through the hook points on the roof and rain and wind ran through the tent as the groundsheet isn't sewn in. However the size is amazing and coped well with all our equipment, toys etc. We got a refund on this and have just bought an Outwell Idaho XL which we hope will be warmer and not so damp. (Note: older models have 3 doors but the 2008 models only have 2)

I bought this tent this year went to bainland site in woodhall spa where the size of pitches are no problem.

It took hubby and my son about an hour ,while I strolled of with rest of kids and dog for a long ,long walk hahaha.

The space in the tent is brilliant to been squashed in a smaller one, loads of other campers were admiring the size, one commented it was much better than there touring caravan for space, which was a real compliment.

The only thing I did wrong was use a fly spray as we were all swamped with wasps on the field, which de proofed the tent(my fault didnt think) but bought a can of fab seal that did the trick and we were all water tight again,

As someone said some sites cannot accommodate a tent this size, but most will try or you have to book well in advance.

All in all I would recommend this tent after been in it 2 weeks ago.

We brought this tent from Argos when it was half price and used it for a week camping in the forest of dean , its a good tent and well worth its money , its easy to set up ( two people less than an hour )

Its got three bedrooms and they say you can sleep 4 people in each room but I would only sleep three to each room ( two to a room if you want comfort ) , one thing about it that I would change on it is , I would like to see a built in groundsheet as the groundsheet that this tent has lets in a very bad draft ,,,there was also a fair bit of condensation inside the tent which gave you the feeling the tent was leaking.

Two other reviews have said about the tent having three doors , the tent only has two doors (one at the front and one at the back) and one window that you can open

We acquired this tent last month when it was half price at Argos. Can't beat this value.

We have just got back from a long weekend in Cromer with this tent, it took 2 of us just over an hour from parking up, pitching, unpacking and making homely to sitting down with a cold drink - we also have 3 children and a dog to keep amused at the same time!

It was dry but rather windy whilst pitching which made it a little difficult to lay the tent flat to decide which way round to orientate ourselves but once the poles were in then it was suprisingly quick and easy, hubby pegged out while I snapped in the central groundsheet and inner tents, unloaded the car etc.

We had all weathers thrown at us this weekend, wind, sun, rain and hail! The tent held up really well, although have to say there was an amount of condensation, but it was such a mixed bag of weather in such a short amount of time!

We slept 3 children to a 'pod', any more and it would have been a squeeze. Certainly enough space with this amount though without them fighting over space at all. Hubby and my 'pod' was certainly ample with the 2 of us on airbeds - loads of room. The third 'pod' we used as a general storeroom for food, clothes, stove etc. Leaving the spacious central area free with just table and (5) chairs!

There are 3 tent tidies included with the tent, very usefully placed next to the 3 doors, also plenty of hanging space for lantern/torches in both the central area and the pods.

My only gripe I suppose is that because we had to pack away in the rain that we are going to have a nightmare drying this monster tent as our garden isn't quite big enough to pitch fully in! We can accommodate the central dome and 2 'pods' the other is laying over a flower bed against the fence!
