I was looking for a tent that I could stand up in and at 6ft 5in that's difficult. This was half price in Argos, so couldn't resist a bargain.

As a lone camper I decided to test it in the garden before using it and found it difficult as it needs lots of space (which I do not have). My neighbour came to help me out and it seemed easier. The instructions weren't brilliant, but I don't often refer to instructions anyway.

I used it on a trip to Holmfirth with success and found the bedroom accommodation more than adequate, but think 10 people may be a push especially with night time comfort breaks. It had a very limited living area especially for 10 people, it could accommodate 2 and a table.

To take it down was easier and could be done by 2 people and the compression bag provided helped in pulling the air out to get the zip to close.

However, on my second trip I was in a very open field and the second day their came heavy rain and strong winds and initially the tent withstood it, but after some battering one of the poles shattered which meant the tent lost it's rigidity and was just squashed by the wind and the strong wind was forcing the water through the skin making everything inside damp. Once the wind died down I made an emergency repair to the tent and got it to be rigid again, but after a second night of strong winds 3 of the poles were shattered and the outer skin was ripped from the connector to the pole. I could have source 3 new poles and make a repair to the outer-skin, but felt that it would have been too expensive to try and repair when I could try to find something more substantial.

I recommend you use for a small group upto 6 very close friends or family and make sure it's secured well and well shaded from strong winds.

We are a family of 4 and we love the tent! the inner sleeping area is giant but it dose not fit 10 it only fits 8 and the dinning area it is not small its medium. We bought it when it was Ł99 cheap for a big tent like that and that it is very waterproof.

The tent was half price in Argos , so I couldn't say no .

The opportunity to go camping for 1 night appeared , so I grabbed the wife and kids and we headed off .

We'd erected it only once at home in the garden to make sure it was all there , which it was . Instructions are ok , nothing major to worry about .

It IS a large tent , so you do need a large area to erect .

There's only four of us , but from camping experience years ago , I stick to my belief that if it says it's a 4 man , it's a comfortable 2 man , and if it says it's a 10 man , it's a comfortable 5 man .

There was plenty of room for all four of us , and enough for one more person I'd say as well , any more then that and it's gonna feel a little claustrophobic , ok if you're 8 teenagers at a rock festival , but not at my age now

Took about 45 mins to erect , didn't know about the yellow poles-last rule , which may have sped things up had I known . Loads of room as I said , and good sized side pockets to hold magazines etc. Great headroom too . It's a good tent !

We're now actually going to sell it and try and get a camper .

Fantastic tent , but I was a bit knackered puting it up and then taking it down , and we were lucky with the weather ,,, taking tents down in the rain doesn't appeal to me , and after erecting it , I realised I was getting older and it had been about 15 years since my last tent-adventure and maybe it's time to go for a camper , just turn the key and go ,, but we'll still bring the old 4 man tent from 15 years ago for the kids to play in beside it .

For the money , you can't go wrong !

I recently purchased this tent and found it to be very easy indeed to erect. This is my very first tent I am a camping virgin so to speak. I took eusty`s advice and fitted the yellow poles last, well actually the tent was upright and partially staked out.

This is the way my wife and I erected the tent.

Laid out the outer,

Pushed through colour coded poles into fabric,(not the yellow one`s)

I pulled up front section while my wife staked out the guide ropes.

We carried on like this till we reached the last section and made the appropriate adjustments to the skin.

At this stage the outer tent was erect and in position a piece of cake.

We then fed the yellow poles through their sleeves and that was that.

Then we staked out the tent fully,took about 10 min`s.

The inner tent was simplicity itself clips at the base and toggles up the side`s and ceiling. Took about ten mins again.

The whole thing took no more than 40-50 mins to put up (no strong wind)and like I said this is our first time

In my opinion this tent is value for money I paid 99 pound for it in the argos sale.

What I would recommend is you leave the poles out of the main carry bag so it weighs less.

The tent rolled up easily and went back in the bag with the inner tent and ground sheet,there was room for the poles but I left them out by choice.

Thanks for the advice on the yellow poles eusty, great tip that. I would recommend this tent to anybody I was pleasantly surprised. The ring dowel is super to.

After reading the review by Surfspud I was a bit apprehensive, but as Argos had them for Ł89 I thought I'd give it a go.

I've never had a ring/dowel tent before as have previously used frame tents, but they take up too much room and are far too heavy!

After following the instructions (which aren't too bad) two of us put the tent up in an hour or so which I didn't think was too bad for a first attempt!

I know what Surfspud meant about the struggle putting the tent up once the poles have been inserted, but using a bit of common sense, and not following the instructions to the letter solved the problem. Don't put the yellow poles in until you have inserted the others in the dowels is the key :)

Taking the tent down was even less hassle, although it doesn't pack as small as when it first came (and I'd be surprised if it was!) it fitted in the case OK.

Although we haven't used it 'in anger' yet as value for money goes you would go a long way to beat this tent :)

Camping had always seemed like a good idea and a fun thing to do as a family. After thinking it over for quite some time we eventually took the plunge when we spotted Argos selling the Hyperdome for Ł99.

Being 6 of us we thought that this would give us plenty of space in the bedroom area and also give us a reasonable daytime space too.

Due to the size of the tent it is recommended to erect the tent where it is to be used. Although we wanted to practice we had no space large enough so we planned a couple of nights away in a nearby site.

The tent unrolled we set about erecting it. The first few steps were fairly simple, it was just a case of fitting the poles together and then sliding them through the corresponding sleeves. We had a little trouble establishing the front and back of the tent, probably very obvious to a well seasoned camper but when faced with a huge sheet of canvas for the first time it can be a little hard to work out.

Once the poles were in we then spent an hour or so on the next step, until I took over the instruction reading and realised the tent needed lifting before inserting the pins into the poles. In fairness to my other half the instructions are a little unclear and the diagrams do not really help.

Our next problem was actually lifting the tent. I am just under 5ft and not the strongest of people and found I did not have the strength to lift the poles plus canvas at once to insert the pins. In the end we had to get our daughter to go inside the tent and lift the middle to enable us to finish erecting the tent.

We have since tried again on our own and failed miserably. I think the main problem is the dome part where the poles cross over. This is some weight and I am clearly not tall enough, nor strong enough to take this weight. I would recommend having available at least 3 adults or two strong men at pitching time if thinking of purchasing this tent.

The tent itself was impressive. We decided against the divider in the bedroom area as it cuts down space. I would not suggest 10 sleeping in the tent though unless you are very close, as even with just 6 of us we only had about a foot between each of our airbeds. The kids found some storage pockets which they soon filled and as they run down both sides of the bedroom area it meant everyone could have their own section.

We had some rain on the first night, but did not notice any problems with leaking. The HH is 2000 so should put up with a fair amount of rain, though the instructions did say that though the tent was not waterproof which was a little worrying.

In the living area there is a separate groundsheet. This is a fair bit smaller than the actual area so you have a two or three inch gap, depending on how well you can put a tent up, that allows a lot of draught in. However once all zipped up this doesn’t seem to be felt much in the sleeping area.

The living area was not as big as expected once we had put all our kitchen bits in. There was just about enough space for two chairs but if ten are using this tent you would definitely be hoping for warm weather so you can sit outside.

When taking the tent down it was difficult to get back into the bag as it has not been made very roomy, so we left this until a few days later when we had our second shot at putting it up.

I have since read that it has two side entrances but none of us noticed them so they are either not there or well hidden.

Looking back, and now with a little more camping knowledge I would not have chosen this tent. I have heard some bad experiences with the Pro action tents that have been slightly concerning and as it took us nearly 4 hours to pitch it is not one we could use for a short weekend away.

If you have a large garden and a daughter or two with friends then this would be perfect for having them all to sleep over, and at just Ł99, very cheap for an additional room.
