Mad woman in her 60’s who spent six weeks in France camping with this tent. Without a doubt I can only praise it as a second home! It stood up to thunder storms with high winds along the Normandy beaches, and survived temperatures over 30°C – all with no damage to the tent.

I have now bought the Quechua tarp so it will give more protection from the elements when sitting outside the tent. I might invest in some fluorescent guy ropes, as I had a habit of tripping over the front guys during the day – luckily with no injuries!

I know it can sleep up to 4 people, but it must be a squeeze for anything other than a weekend.

If you camp at a site for a week or more, you might find that a makeshift footprint useful. Unlike the few minutes it takes to pitch/put away the tent , it took much longer to clean wet soil stuck to the undersurface of the groundsheet before packing away the tent.

We have only been away for 2 nights in this tent so far but found it so easy to put up and even easier to take down. We did have to have a practice at home but it's so easy once you have the hang of it and realise it isn't going to snap when folding it away!

There was plenty of room for us being 2 adults and a toddler and all our camping equipment. It is a good size and a bonus being able to stand up in it.

We had good weather so it's still to be tested in wind and wet weather but reading the reviews on here it should be fine.

The only reason I haven't given it 10 out of 10 is as the groundsheet is not sewn in I can imagine it gets drafty but hopefully a carefully situated windbreaker will solve that problem.

It also packs away neatly and doesn't take up much space in the car. We bought this for £99 in Decathlon and think that's a very good price.

Get one of these they are great!

We saw this at the Outdoor show in London and got the man to demonstrate it - we were impressed. Won't repeat what every one else has said - it really is brilliant. We have just spent 4 nights in the Gower (Oxwich Bay Greeways - good site) and it was really good. In fact we are going to Slovenia and we are going to leave the Outwell Nevada at home and just take this. We are now 64 and the weight of the Outwell is getting too much. This is perfect. Coped with high wind, rain and sunshine.

Fab tent - I use it for quick weekend camps when it's just me and 2 kids aged 9 & 7. Plenty of room for the 3 of us in the bedroom and in the porch area and then I keep clothes etc in the boot of the car.

Can be put up and pegged in 5 mins and taken down in the same amount of time.

No problems with folding away and it's withstood some pretty hefty winds. Not yet had any serous rain to test it but I don't anticipate an issues. A bonus is that we've never had a problem with condensation which is often an issue with smaller tents.

For £99 from decathlon I can't think of a better tent as a weekender. It compliments our huge Outwell Florida 6 that we use for long camps really well.

It's horses for courses I suppose, but for our purpose this tent is just perfect especially when matched up to a few other creature comforts.

As many other reviews - it takes around 2 minutes to pitch and 4 minutes to put away.

We are not hardened campers; we are mid 50s impatient softies who like our home comforts but also like to get away under canvass for a few nights in the countryside during the summer months.

Until recently we had always borrowed my brother in law's spare 2 man - 2 second pop tent. That was fine for a night or 2 but due to the lack of internal space for personal stuff and minimal headroom, we would set off home doubled up with bad backs and dreaming of our own comfortable bed.

We purchased this tent,an electric hook up, electric airbed, 2 foldaway chairs, a foldaway table and a kettle. SORTED!

Home from home - Camping for non campers!

Plenty of bedroom space, sufficient headroom, plenty of porch space for the kitchen (kettle and chairs!).

No patience? - this is all you need.

BRILLIANT!

My girlfriend and I were looking to go away for a week somewhere for as little money as possible during the October half term week as she is a teacher. She had never been camping before and although I have enjoyed it previously, I had never been in October!

We decided to brave the weather and set about finding a tent. With there being a strong possibility that it could be raining when we got there (we decided on a site in Wales!) I suggested we should get a pop-up tent to avoid having to set up in the rain.

We searched the internet for a large pop-up and seeing the Quechua XXL I was struck by how much headroom there seemed to be compared to others. I purchased the tent from the Decathlon store at Lakeside and they were extremely helpful in demonstrating how to fold the tent down. Looking at other Quechua reviews, it seemed like a pop-up brand to be trusted.

The tent itself is extremely easy to set up, with the only downside compared to other pop-ups being that you have to lay out the groundsheet first which could get wet if it is raining! Apart from that the process takes only a few minutes.

Taking it down is a doddle after spending half an hour watching the tutorial review on the Quechua website and another half an hour practising in the garden, I had definitely learnt the 'knack'! Again it only takes about 5 minutes and it all fits into the bag very easily unlike some other tents I have had in the past.

Now for the tent itself. The bedroom section fits 2 people and all their luggage with plenty of space to spare. It could equally easily fit 3 people, or even 4 people if most of the luggage was kept in the living area.

The Living area is again a very good size which will fit 4 camping chairs and a table easily with enough headroom to sit up and even stand up if stooped slightly (I'm 5'10). This was a big selling point for me!

The weather was predictably atrocious. The tent kept the driving rain out, but a poorly selected pitch meant we were right in the path of the wind on the windiest day of year! The wind was pulling tent pegs out and guy ropes, and where the poles are designed to bend to fold up, they bent severely under the pressure of the wind and the tent was bending in and hitting us whilst we were lying down sleeping. It took a battering. Luckily a kind couple in a campervan helped us move the whole tent to more secluded pitch and we were fine. The tent took no lasting damage and so in my opinion coped with it extremely well! This is not the kind of tent you would take to extreme locations so I don't see the experience as a negative on the tent at all. To put it in perspective a group of 8 surfers turned up that night and left the next morning when we were moving the tent without surfing once.

All in all a great quality tent.

Pros:

- Great size

- Great headroom for a pop-up

- Easy set up and take down

- Great value for what you get

Cons:

- separate groundsheet makes setting up just that little bit longer

- Not an extreme weather tent (but still very warm)!

- You will have a nightmare trying to take it down if you don't practice whilst watching the video before going camping. Don't be put off though, it is very easy once you have learnt!

I would rate this very highly and definitely buy again.

I love this tent. It is roomy and brilliant area in the front for the table. We ended up having a very rainy weekend when we used it. It was warm and we had a place to sit while it was constantly raining but we stayed from Friday night when it was lovely (didn't start raining until the next morning) until Monday morning about 5am when we decided to leave. We put this tent down in the rain was BRILL. My only wish was there was a way to connect the bottom sheet to the side of the tent. It didn't leak at all, and it holds up well with the wind it is fab. Would highly recommend this tent to anyone.

Had one for 2 camping trips before upgrading to a bigger tent, was a good introduction to camping and after a couple of practices in the garden found it easy to pitch. Would of preferred the ground sheet to be sown in as it got a bit draughty. Good sized for 2 people but we managed to get double airbed and a single airbed in for 2 adults and 1 child, but think 4 people would be a stretch.Small living area is nice managed to get table and 3 chairs around it,but had to sit with head tilted. After sitting in a larger tent on the 2nd camping trip decided that we wanted more living space and that was worth the longer pitching time of a larger tent. Found that in high winds due to the thin metal frame that the tent ceiling would bow to the point of touching the occupants lay down this also was a deciding factor in getting a proper frame tent.

All in all a quick pitching tent that is fine in nice warm weather an no wind but not suitable for windy places or more than 2 adults and 1 child

This is a brilliant tent just perfect for 2 with plenty of room for 2 folding camp beds and an Outwell shelf unit with 2 chairs and a table in the living area. Easy to put up and down, this is great for short trips and touring. We used the basic 3 man one in Germany and we were so pleased with it and it withstood a MASSIVE storm keeping us dry and warm so we have high expectations of this tent in the event of a nasty spell of weather.

This is us putting up our XXL IIII in 2 mins or so. Excellent tent for two people. Four? Mmm. Survived a serious downpour at three in the morning on our first night, when I say serious my Daihatsu van leaked some water onto the passenger footwell carpet (never happened before or since). Tent was 100% waterproof, dried easily and was put away dry the next day.

Loads of room for two, really easy (and fun!) to put up and down, well made for the money (ours was £99 from Decathlon), buy one you won't be disappointed.
