At first this tent was an amazing , spacious tent , ideal for a family holiday. We bought this tent in October (2009)and have used it for every June for 2 weeks ( a total of a month being put up). This month we noticed that in the front canopy and in the main tent roof there were many tears occurring. We patched them up with specialist tent patches and glue , but they still ripped. In the middle of our family holiday this year we have had to go and buy a new tent , which is not very ideal whilst on holiday with four kids. This has cost a fortune and we were expecting great quality from a well known specialist manufacturers like Vango.
This tent is not ideal for long-term usage. It would just be a waste of money.

First family tent we've owned and it is brilliant. Very large inside and sleeping compartments fit 2 adults in each. The canopy area is a real plus - muddy wellies, sheltered area, outside storage etc. 2 inexperienced campers took one and a half hours to erect it but that was the first time. You kind of walk it open and is really simple with no complicated instructions or fiddley bits. It all seemed v logical. Slightly challenging getting it back in the bag, but again that needs practise. It feels v spacious in height and the living area is enormous. Easily fit say 6 or 8 adults of an evening.

As a first timer was very impressed with this tent, 20l0 version, ample of space, easy to put up, very sturdy, just loved it. The only draw back I can find is that's its pretty heavy but then again I'm quite a slight person in build. Well pleased with my purchase, took 40min to put up, was admired by other campers

Lovely large family tent, easy to erect, very sturdy. Although maybe the oversized bag, is not so oversized when you are trying to pack the tent away! Kids loved the large bedrooms, found it much easier to use single airbeds for the kids then they had space to play. Room for a wardrobe two tables, cooker, and all our luggage. Forgot four camping chairs, and still loads of space. Only downside was the front canopy, would have liked it more enclosed for windy weather, otherwise perfect.

Having bought this tent at the end of the last season, the Easter weekend 2011 was our first opportunity to try this tent out. We are very impressed with everything about this tent. The video on the Vango website was very good and easy to follow. I think it would need 2 people to put this tent up due to the size and weight of the poles, but it may be possible with one with some practice. We used a footprint then laid the tent onto of that. If you lay everything out it will be allot easier to erect. Once up the tent looks magnificent. Very roomy and well laid out. Being a tunnel tent it flows from the entrance porch through to the lounge area then to the bedrooms at the rear of the tent. It is solid as it has steel poles.
This is our first outing with this tent and it really gets 10 out of 10 from us.

This tent is brill. Ticks all the boxes except for the British weather is rather wet a lot so had to have a larger front porch but Vango dose not make one for the Amazon 600(2010 model). So came up with a great idea. Purchased a spare flysheet (2008 model) with the zip off canopy as this is better in windy weather dose not capture the wind and put stress on the front of the tent when canopy off. Cut the bedroom section off but not the groundsheet left that in tack so as when I joined the to tents together there is groundsheet everywhere . Now have front porch 4.5 m square. The biz. Will get pictures as soon as poss

Bought one as we like plenty of room when camping. We were not disappointed and the tent stood up to some horrendous weather conditions. The front porch with the side windows was a brilliant idea as it gives you room to sit outside your tent at night whilst still feeling some protection from any cool evening breezes. There were 4 of us camping in this tent for two weeks so there was enough room to sleep as well as store the clothes.

We have owned our Vango Amazon 600 for just over a year now and still absolutely love this tent! What can I say apart from very sturdy and very spacious. The Amazon has a cavernous living area, ideal for socialising when the weather is poor and three good sized sleeping pods. We really put this tent to its limits during our recent camping trip to Weymouth - torrential rain and 45/50mph wind gusts - No problems! Front canopy is a bonus, only downside is the 2009 version it is not fully enclosed, however the 2010 model has addressed this! Highly recommend this tent.

We bought the Amazon 600 a few weeks ago and have just returned from our first weekend trip. The tent was brilliant and lived up to the reviews on this site, which was the reason we chose it!
The tent is huge, perfect for our 18-month old to run around in when the weather was wet, yet still feels like you're outdoors due to the big windows and natural light.
The tent was relatively easy to put up with two of us, but we're glad we watched the instructional video on youtube beforehand as it gave us all the tips to make it easy- from start to finish was about 45 minutes but that was our first attempt. Easy to take down and pack away.
The covered porch area is brilliant, it gave us enough cover from the wind and rain whilst cooking and meant we could stay sat out during the evening.
Downsides? Not many that's for sure but I guess it is big and heavy to transport so you'll need a big boot to cope with it all.
All in all, a brilliant buy and I would recommend it for families particularly. We paid £319 for the latest model from Outdoorworlddirect which seemed the best price at the time. Happy camping!

After searching for a large tent we opted for the Amazon 600. We are a family of 5 so needed the 3 double sleeping pods & the huge living area for those wet days. Quite easy to erect but quite heavy. It has lived upto our expectations & has with stood some very wet & windy camping trips. We have also managed to pack it away into its generous sized suit case style bag 1st time every time. Very very pleased with it.

Manufacturer's Description
A new range of family tunnel tents that replaces the popular Vango Vail range. The Vango Amazon tents are steel poled tents which offer a cavernous (Stan saw the Beatles here), open living area and three spacious full height bedrooms. In addition, they also feature a fully sewn-in groundsheet which protects the occupants from the outside elements. Because it's such a large tent, great importance has been placed on allowing plenty of light into the space and so a large 'veranda' front door, two canopied side doors, multiple large panel 'Crystal Clear' windows and skylights have all been incorporated to maximum effect. Finally, the Vango Amazon's also come complete with a zip-on sun canopy - great for al fresco cooking and dining. The Vango Amazon 600 features 3 x 2-berth sleeping berth (which will sleep 6 adults comfortably) and all of which are removable.
Other features include a Protex 5000 durable polyester flysheet (5000mm hydrostatic head), taped seams, heavy duty Oxford external storm skirt, 3 mesh doors, mesh vents, colour coded Powerplus Steel poles, pre-angled poles for rigidity, flysheet first pitching, PE waterproof groundsheet, breathable polyester inners, storage pockets and hanging organisers, double zip windows (for 3 vent/light options), cable entry point, lantern hanging point, roller bag, repair kit. Flame retardant throughout.
