Wanted to upgrade to a proper family tent. The Anteus is easy to put up, great in wet weather (lake district tested) and has loads of space. In fact on a wet weekend we managed to seat and feed 8 adults and 4 kids in the living area. Cozy but possible. Great head room and the porch space is a real asset for cooking and keeping boots etc. Bedrooms are really comfortable and roomy for 4 people on air beds with bags. Could sleep six but would have to be on mats.

The tent is brilliantly sealed and keeps heat in well. The air vents work well but remember to unzip the door when packing away otherwise it is like trying to fold up a hot air balloon!

All in all a brilliant family tent. I would recommend the footprint groundsheet for extra insulation and to keep the underside clean. Extra tip, go for a slightly longer one, however and you then get a groundsheet under the porch area as well.

From the reviews on this site, we purchased a Vango Anteus 600 last week.

Just come home from 3 nights away in it for the first time. The space inside the tent is amazing. The family living area is huge. The bedroom is separated by a sheet, which means it can be taken down and you have one huge space.

We had 4 single blow up beds, so not a lot of room for our bags etc. During the day, we stacked the beds so we could also hide all our luggage away. There are several handy little pockets around the sides of the bedroom inner tent, great for little ones books, ear plugs etc.

I noticed another reviewer suggesting getting a carpet, so we'll do that next time. We also purchased an electric hook up set, so could charge our phones etc. Also bought a great electric cool box from Halfords, it's colder than our fridge at home!

The best part of the tent was the porch outside. We sat under it most of the time, even in the rain we didn't get wet (were lucky with the angle we pitched it!). Other campers commented on the tent and the fab porch.

I wish the side door also had a mesh door, as the flies were streaming in. Also we had torrential rain, and I noticed 2 leaks. Unfortunately, we can't take the tent back as I accidentally burnt a hole in the ground sheet.

I have the above tent and have used it 4 times this year. The tent itself is great the bugbear I have is with the side extension which does not go fully over the main tent which allows rain to come under the fly sheet for the extension and runs down the outer tent into the extension.

Also the guy ropes that hold the fly sheet over the main tent sit tight onto the sleeping area which will create an area for the rain to come into the sleeping compartment.

The main tent is the best I have had and I have had 3 tent over the last 3 years ( Outwell,Higear and now Vango).

Would recommend this tent to anyone, just watch out for the extension.

We really love this tent, suppose it depends what you're used to, it has more features than our previous tunnel tent.

It has one big bedroom with a fabric divider which only toggles (4) on at top and bottom or can be removed all together. It only really functions as a privacy curtain we found and not technically the 'two bedrooms' Vango claims imo. We actually found it had more space because of this compared to my previous tent of the same width but two separate bedroom pods.

We had my mum and her huge annoying clunky campbed in one half and me and my 20 y/o daughter were in other half on airbeds. We had loads of room so its plenty big enough for 4 adults, probably 5. The 6 man I always think refers to how many you can cram in on foam mats in mummy bags - not our thing!

The main front door is great, under the built in canopy and upright like a proper door, not the annoying sloping doors I'm used to which are not easy for a shortie and rubbish when raining. The main outer door part zips round not quite completely but the bottom part stays firmly in place with Velcro. The inner part of front door is the mesh which does complete the seal so nothing can get in. So you can have mesh closed with main door open, they are independent of each other.

The side door is a good size too, no mesh and it seals with two zips meeting at the bottom centre.

We liked the huge windows, all with curtains which can be toggled all up, all down or half way.

Easy to pitch and strike, especially as you can leave the bedroom in place - check carefully under the bedroom for any damp bits due to condensation under airbeds first though, we used the toggles to lift the pod at the bottom & hooked it up to air slightly before packing up.

We also bought the footprint, but use a huge bargain Coleman carpet so shop around and just check the sizes.

Has good Vango features such as the tension beams which can be stored away at the sides when not needed, and good adjustable ventilation.

I think this tent is named 'Anteus' for a Vango Go Outdoors exclusive as I couldn't find it on sale anywhere else . However seems very similar or even identical to the Vango Avington 600 so I looked at this for further info before I bought it.

To conclude - A lovely tent at an affordable price but with all the Vango quality!

Just got back from our first trip in this tent and what a bargain! This tent replaces a smaller tent we purchased last year. I have had many tents over the years and this has to be one of the easiest to pitch. We watched an excellent clip on Youtube by typing in Vango Tunnel tents before we left and it made the whole thing so much easier. The suggested pitch time is 15 minutes, we took about 30 minutes and this was in strong winds. There are sufficient pegs supplied but we took extra to double up in some places due to the windy weather. Colour coded fibre glass poles that fit well and didn't struggle to fit into the pins. All zips worked easily and no need for adjustment to the poles of the tent. The canopy at the front is excellent and just one of the reasons we chose this tent, it protected us in most of the rain and wind and we had lots of rain! The heavens opened and I haven't seen rain like it in a long time, it was bouncing off the grass and at one point we had some hailstones along with the strong winds but the tent was fine, no leaks at all not even on the side door zip. The tension band system is an excellent feature, when we bought the tent we thought they might get in the way a little but we didn't notice them. My husband is 6 foot and he had plenty of headroom even at the sides of the tent, it's great to have a decent sized living area that you can actually live in.

There are 4 of us and although a 6 berth you would only get 5 airbeds in at most, this is usual for most if not all tents anyway. We had a double and 2 single beads and there is plenty of room to walk between the beds. The bedroom inner is well away from the outer tent wall so it was nice the the air beds (and our heads) weren't touching the the outer tent wall.

Taking the tent down was a 10 minute job.

If I had to pick any fault at all and this really is being picky, the main door and fly sheet have to be opened separately, there is no zip to attach them together.

We bought the footprint and I am glad we did as besides keeping the underside of the tent clean and insulating us from the cold it's a good guide for making sure you are pitching the tent square.

We have discussed buying the additional side awning but don't think it's necessary for just the four of us.

Overall an excellent family sized tent, light and airy, easy to pitch, good zips and most definitely weather proof! We bought it on offer for Ł250 but even at full retail price it is well worth every penny
