We love this tent it's got so much going on. As I say we have a two bedroom detached with walk in wardrobe & en-suite, spacious living area and separate dining kitchen - says it all I think. I have also found that at a push I can erect it on my own in good conditions. Wouldn't want any other tent now. My only down point is the weight of it.

My family love this tent. We've used it 3 times, never really pitched it when it's been dry. Although it is inner first, it dries fairly quickly. Had no leaks and this year we were in sever weather warning in Devon and although it creaked and groaned through, it was still standing, that could not be said for many of the others camping. I've not heard good reviews on it's new improved version Vango Zambezi.

We've just come back from our first (real) camping trip with our new Aspen 500DLX and I have to say that it is a remarkable tent. Bought in the sale at £240 it was well worth it.

It is very roomy and easily accommodated my family of four. In fact our kids referred to it as the 'TARDIS' as despite the large living room, bedrooms and porch it didn't look at all over imposing from the outside.

Packed with cleaver little features that just kept unfolding as we lived with the tent such as two doors in the porch, vents, hook up points, storage and clear windows, Vango have made a great piece of kit.

A kind fellow uk camp member sent me(free of charge) the pitching DVD. This was a massive help to actually see the Aspen being pitched.

It was terrible weather in the evenings and although I was nervous that we might all blow away (kids & wife fast asleep mind) nothing bad happened, just a few loose guy lines.

Buying the footprint is a good idea (makes packing away clean and easy)

We did notice a strange problem that I have not really got to the bottom of. After a couple of days the inner tent had started to slide back, lifting the ground sheet at the front by just a couple of inches. We were not pitched on level ground, it was a slight slope, so that might be it. This didn't pose a problem, it was just a little strange.

So in conclusion a smart sturdy looking tent with lots of space at an affordable price

This tent is fantastic! My boyfriend & I started off with a 2 man and decided to upgrade to this-best idea ever! If you are the kind of people that like space then this is the tent for you. The first time we put it up we did struggle using the instructions provided sewn inside the bag but if you use the way shown on the dvd(our tent didn't come with dvd) the inner tent can be erected in 20mins. I think that is the only down side to this tent-inner tent needs erecting 1st so if it rains your inner bit gets wet-but having been stuck erecting it in the rain a few times it does dry off quite quickly!.There is a Sewn In Groundsheet for living area & bedroom( great for keeping warm & keeping creepy crawlies out) and a separate 1 for porch which is great idea because this is the bit that gets muddy. Also there is a zipped doorway between porch & living area which makes it very cosy, and with all the vented windows and flaps you really are snug yet well ventilated. Bedroom can be divided into 1 main room (easily fits a double airbed with plenty of room around it)and a detachable flap for wardrobe area(supplied with pole)and there is another small area the other side which can be used as extra storage, loo area or another sleeping area. Also Vango offer a lifetime guarantee on all their products so if anything goes wrong with your tent they will do their best to either repair or replace,(nothing gone wrong with ours & we've used it 8 times already this year!. Hope this helps :-)

I am the proud owner of a 2006 model which I bought brand new last May, I have used it 6 times and the last time was at Windermere 3 weeks ago the Sunday was the Wildest day ever. We were battered by 60-75 mile an hour winds for 17 hours and guess what we survived when not every body on the site did.The tent did brilliant and I have got to say gets lots of comments of how nice it looks, granted it does not pitch in 20 minutes but once up what an ace tent it is. I prefer the 2006 models because the front porch door turns into a canopy and there is a mudguard on the porch taken off the 2007 models. All in all a great tent I only don't give it a 10 because it's bloomin heavy.

Easy to put up when you have watched the video, Me and my 13 year old (whos not the tallest) managed no bother. Only gets a 8 because one of the poles which make the roof rigid has come apart(still works ok but has torn the sleeve on the inner tent)and a small section of the SIG between the bedroom and the living area has a separated seam(this is up off the ground so doesn't affect anything it just shouldn't happen)The porch is a winner plenty of room for kitchen equipment and a good selection of doors for use.

I can’t praise this tent enough I love it. It’s easy to put up (with two of you) spacious, you can make it as hot or as cold as you like. If I had to buy another tent I would buy the same its just great!
