Bought a 2011 model after reading the great reviews on the 2010.

Used it this April and I am impressed!

It lasted 3 days of constant wind and rain, had the odd little drop of water in the main area (due to a bit of condensation) other than that it was amazing and great value for money! Easy and quick to put up and excellent in extreme weather!

I have just recently got into camping & after reading numerous reviews I purchased a 2010 Model Vango 'Beta 450' along with matching Vango 'Adventure' Windbreak. I managed to get the tent for £85.00 online & was also on the lookout for a separate groundsheet to offer additional protection to the one supplied which is sewn-in to the sleeping compartment. After searching I managed to find one of almost the exact same dimensions as the Beta 450, I settled on the 'Footprint' groundsheet that was actually for the 'Orchy 400'.I couldn't have chosen better, what a fit!

I used it for the first time last weekend while camping with a friend @ 80's Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames over a four-day period. I found it extremely easy to put up on my own in about 15 minutes, very straight forward & an extremely good design. Once zipped up inside the sleeping compartment it was very cosy & I felt quite toasty, even though there was torrential rain outside for two of the nights. Not that I would have noticed as I slept like a baby! I am pleased to confirm that not a drop of rain was to be seen inside the tent, much to my surprise & absolute delight!

The outer area of the Beta is also very spacious & easily coped with two chairs, table, trolley, muddy shoes & other camping accessories & supplies. I found it the perfect ‘festival’ tent as instead of queuing two hours for the showers I merely used a fresh bowl of water & had a strip-down wash in the said outer area.Very refreshing it was too!

Even though it is 4-man tent, we both found it perfectly suited for the two of us with the added bit of luxury.

I have the 2010 model and it really is excellent value for money. Having previously used mountaineering tents, the space seems really luxurious. No problems with at all so far and I am looking forward to a long lazy summer in it.

Pitching is very simple and my daughter (12 yrs) can manage it on her own. Used in once in heavy rain with no problems. Plenty of room for sitting on camp chairs in the living area. Brilliant for camping from our micro-car (Toyota IQ).

We already have the Beta 350 which is predominantly for weekend camping but we wanted a bit more space and the ease of pitching.

We have just come back from 2 weeks camping in the Hebrides - we have had all weathers (but not snow). The tent stood up fantastically well in the wind on some very exposed coastal pitches and in rain with no leakage.

Plenty of room for 2 adults with lots of kit. Easy enough to sit inside with chairs. (we would have struggled a bit with living space in the Beta 350 for 2 weeks).

The 2 big windows in the front of the tent were brilliant- especially when outside temperatures were below freezing and it was too cold to leave the door open.

This is going to make our Orchy tent redundant for the time being for longer camping trips - just because of the ease of pitching and dropping quickly!

Brilliant tent, ideal size for the weekend. Just bought this as a weekend/one night tent and it is great. Really cosy, I wouldn't use it in obvious bad weather but it would be ok if you did get caught. Loved having space in the car and packing was great. My only issue was a few niggles with the quality, had a badly sewn inner so had a hole in it and the bags zip wasn't fitted properly so had to repair both. To be fair the retailer did offer to exchange but that just seemed silly for small problems.

Just wanted to update my previous review of this tent.

We are just back from 2 nights camping in torrential rain and a good breeze and the Vango never let in a drop of water. I expected some rain to get blown into the living area but it was bone dry both mornings. So a definite 10/10 for this tent

Have used this tent for a 2 night stay and love it so far. Did a couple of practice pitches in the garden, once doing it fly first and then tried leaving the inner attached to try it a second time, but it seemed to put a lot of stress on the poles pitching all in one so will continue to do it fly first from now on.

As we have a toddler we needed a tent which could basically be pitched by one person with minimal help and we seemed to have found the very one ! I am a short, feeble female and managed to pitch it in 20 mins mins with a little bit of help from said toddler while Granny got a brew on lol

This tent has loads of ventilation but was very cosy even though we had a ground frost on our first night in it. This caused a lot of condensation in the living area, but this soon dried out once the sun came up. The living area has plenty room for 3 adults on camping chairs and a small table so when the midges came out we sat inside and it was great to still be able to see the views due to the 2 large windows and the mosquito net on one of the side doors. The sleeping area had plenty room for a double and a single airbed and 2 holdalls.

There was not a breath of wind the 2 nights we camped so have yet to see how it holds up on a windy Scottish night, but 10/10 so far from us

After having had an old (but very loved) tent for many years we have made the upgrade to the Vango Beta 450. What a great move.

There are only 2 of us but with bikes and the general full camping equipment, we were looking for more space and a more luxurious camping experience.

Having spent several nights camping during extreme weather we were looking for a tent that could offer ample living space whilst still being sturdy enough to contend with the tail end of a hurricane (yes it did happen to us once in cornwall!)

Having arrived in the fading light of a September evening in the Peak District, the instructions were straightforward and the tent was up in no time.

This is a great tent if you want space and with a fixed ground sheet, we were really moving up in the world!

This tent also has windows - at first a great idea but upon assessment, quite a nuisance with the flapping curtains. A good tent with plenty of potential and I am looking forward to having many adventures in the old Beta 450!

Love it! Was going to buy the Vango Beta 350 but it was out of stock so plumped for the 450, very happy I did so. I've used it 5 times in the last month and have got the erecting of the tent down to 15 mins in total. Ample sized (can use the porch with 2 seats when it rains) and the extra height with the 450 helps as I'm 6' 2'. The sleeping area can accommodate a double blow up mattress easily. I have used it in heavy rain and it copes admirably.

I bought one of these tents in July this year and have used it 4 times since.I chose the Vango as it is a very well respected make but mostly because it is very easy for one person to put up.I have camped on my own and also with my 14 yr old son and have found that there is ample space. We camped in Wales in August amid heavy rain and strong winds the tent stood up to these conditions with no problems.I have just bought a Quercha tarp which fits nicely with the tent and gives me more space for cooking etc.

All in all a good value tent for short trips away and for easy pitching
