Used tent for the first time this week. It was GREAT! Plenty of living space and bedrooms good size. Ideal for growing family. Lots of compartments. Relatively easy to pitch although I found the weight of the poles quite heavy. Its well worth watching the pitching DVD as we didn't need to bother with instructions. It withstood heavy rain, winds, thunderstorms. It did get quite hot in the sun- but that has always been my experience of tents and there are plenty of ways to ventilate it. If you are thinking of buying it, go for it. Although model is discontinued abc camping seems to sell footprints and carpets for it still.

We used the Columbia 600 for the first time this June and I have to say we were more than pleased we had the tent up in about 30 minutes and the wide canopy also, which was brilliant it added so much space. The tent performed brilliantly in the wind and we had 2 heavy down pours with no leaks what so ever. We had 3 adults sleeping in it and one child and had loads of space to move around(helped by the cooking gear outside). The side entrance has a detachable ground sheet which is brilliant for cleaning and helps on those muddy days. The only niggle I have is the 'v' pegs bend on the top and trap the d ring so would recommend buying some stronger ones. Overall brilliant well done VANGO!

Used my Columbia for the first time last weekend, stayed out 2 nights. After pitching it only once before the OH and I had the tent up and all the tent set up in about 1 hour, which is good for us as the OH has never been camping. The steel poles make it a pleasure to pitch and so much better than fibre glass poles. You have a great sized living area for your comfort. The only bad point is that you need to get a canopy for the front, since I have come I have tried surfing the net for 5 days but cannot get a canopy. I shall have try and order a canopy for next year! But overall a wonderful tent.

Got this tent in July 2009 as a family tent and used if for the first time in August. The actually weight of the tent and poles is heavy but it went up OK for the first time. The bed space is just for six people but plenty of living space to store bags and everything else. Lots of useful storage pockets inside. As we have have toddles with us we use the porch to put a portable toilet in and it is great. Would recommend this tent to anybody.

A really great tent, with lots of living space! Sleeps up to 6, although I think it was be a squash for 6 and all their luggage. Works great for 2 or 4 people. Massive living area, which is great for wet weather or fine weather (the whole front opens, and so can feel like you're outside). Can choose to have either whole front open, or just the door. We loved the side door with mesh cover to keep the insects out on hot days. Side entrance and porch are very handy in wet weather. Lots of storage pockets make it easy to keep the tent tidy. Easy to erect, although would definitely need 2 people to do it. The tent felt very secure in high winds, and the band system provides extra reassurance. Large window to the front and 2 side windows make the tent really light.

This is a great tent. Lovely space and flexible design - 2 or 3 bedrooms, small or large front opening, two side doors and an enclosed wet-weather side entrance. A comfortable home from home in wet weather, light and spacious. Bad weather - not a problem! In sunny weather, its just like being outside with the front fully open. It is easy to pitch and take down, but I'd buy more substantial pegs!

We took this out for the first time in August. Was initially worried about the weight of the poles when erecting but with one angina ridden adult and a first time 14 year old this went up amazingly easy. Superb tent which performed well on a night of very high winds. No worries about the stability. All parts seemed well made and there were no problems whatsoever. Am looking forward to many nights away in this tent.

Great tent but watch out - there is a retailer trying to sell a Columbia 400 with FIBREGLASS POLES!. Other than that when my new one comes with STEEL POLES I will be delighted - been out once, great tent, enhanced by the porch area - like the cupboard under the stairs - all the things you don't need goes in there. The brow pole was really hard to get in. Recommend buying the carpet - it was luxurious and so nice in bare feet!

This is an amazing tent once erected. However, there are always little niggles that get you and that's when you are trying to put the little pegs into the main frame legs, this can be somewhat difficult, but once these have been put in its a breeze and so large inside. The bedroom areas are large enough, the main can be split into 2 thus creating 3 double bedrooms.

A fantastic tent! We found the enclosed side entrance invaluable in wet conditions, as well as the storm skirt which really helped to keep the bugs out. I also love having the choice of opening up the large porch, or just having half of it open. Good size living area with lots of useful storage pockets. Really easy to put up, with no arguments which is a first! Protex 5000, pack size tent 75x48x37/poles 69x27x11cm.
