Just back from our first trip with this tent, and happy to say we weren't disappointed! We had very heavy rain and very high winds and the Diablo 900 coped perfectly. Tons of room in the bedrooms and the living area, great to have the sewn-in groundsheet in the central living area, porch is perfect for cooking in. We had a practice run putting it up in good weather before we went away. That took 45 minutes with 2 of us pitching, I would recommend you watch Vango's pitching video on YouTube if you don't have the DVD that comes with the tent. Our pitching time on our first trip was about an hour, on quite a breezy day. Glad we did our research, and listened to the other reviews on here before buying, this tent lives up to the hype!

Wonderful large tent, seems bigger inside that out. Easy to erect after first few attempts. Well thought about. Down sides:- The living area does not have enough windows to see out through and the porch area is too small to sit if you have your kitchen set up there. Also, not really able to hang lanterns etc apart from one hook in centre of living area.

This tent has become a friend over time. It took us ages to get used to putting it up, now takes just over a good hour. Massive space inside. Unfortunately it is over some club sites standard pitch size which makes it prohibitive to use. We only use if going away for 3 nights plus and putting it up is no small endeavour. If the O2 arena ever fill up, you could hold a small concert in it. Brilliant for wet holidays so much space inside. Very heavy and takes up load of space in car. To put all contents back in the bag is a Krypton factor challenge. Not managed it yet.

I bought our Diablo 900 after camping next to one in Dorset. The very kind owner gave me a 'tour' and I was hooked, and bought one when we got home! It does take a while to put up, but with my husband and two kids it's about 45mins. I love the bathtub inner and how I can set up a kitchen in the porch leaving room inside for table, chairs and a large dog cage! It's so cosy inside and when it rains (as is traditional) I feel almost smug about how warm and dry we are in it! Beats the previous tents we've had where we've had to sweep the water out every time it rains. My husband thinks a skylight would enhance it, but he loves the door in the bedroom, we can sleep when it's hot with the door open and see into the trees or the sky when we wake up. Brilliant. We do only use it when there are hoards of us or when it's a longer holiday - a week or more. Last year we threw my 10year old son a sleepover party at a local campsite and fitted 15 kids in it. (We pitched another tent next door and slept in that!) We've had fab holidays in our Diablo - I've never regretted buying it.

We love our Diablo tent, we spent a long time reading reviews and looking at tents before we choose this one and I'm glad we did. The first time we went out with it was to the New Forest and the weather was awful, torrential rain, gusts of 60 miles an hour but the tent was fab, not a single bit of rain got in. It was quite satisfying to look out our tent window and see everyone trying to save their tents from flying away.
We have used this tent 6 times and each time we put it up people say its like the tardis or a spaceship, there are 6 of us in our family and we still have bags of room in this tent. The sewn in groundsheet is one of the things that sold this tent as we have 2 little terriers and this keeps them contained at night. The porch is fab, we do all our cooking in it,h ave our wellies in there and put our washing line up in it.
I really cannot say a bad word about this tent,it is the best one I've ever owned and can honestly say I will never buy a different brand tent after owning a vango tent.

First time we have ever been camping and it was the worst weather. Went all the way to Ireland, Killarney (good site by the way) we knew it was going to be ambitious but as complete amateurs we managed to get this small housing estate up in less than three hours WITHOUT THE DVD (. And I'm not blaming anyone, but she forgot to bring it!) Anyway, if you compare that to actually building your own house it wasn't too bad. With years of practice I'm sure we'll get it down to a fine art. The tent itself is very spacious, but there were only three of us (and most of our furniture).
We stayed for a full week and it stopped raining for twenty two minutes two days before we packed up to leave. ( we flew a kite on the field then it got too windy so we went back in! ) Not only did it stand up to Hurricane Patrick (can I say that.No offence) But the torrential rain stayed well and truly outside. Only on the last day were there a FEW spots of water but nothing on the inside of the inner tent. By those standards it was brilliant. Will Definitely buy Vango again. Yes there were a few very minor issues with stitching being a bit messy on the finish but not off putting at all for me and I'm afraid those who strive for total perfection might be better off in a caravan!

Only problem we had was a snapped pole this year but easy replaced although it did tear the pole sleeve but didn't affect the tent at all. Never leaked a drop despite some pretty bad rain & wind at times. Biggest bug was trying to get it clean & dry before storage as you need a big garden to pitch. Not really a tent to take down & move every 2 days as it takes at least 45 mins to put up & take down. Thats the only reason I've just changed it to a nevis 400 as its just for 2 now as the kids have dumped us old uns

This tent is fab! After owning and using a couple of six man 'pod' type tents we decided to upgrade - we spent two weeks one very wet August holed up in our tent and decided that a porch and more space was essential if we were to survive the holiday!
We made the best decision ever! We bought this tent second hand but in perfect order and haven't regretted it. Although it does take some time to erect (roughly an hour.Although have done it quicker with no wind)once it's up it's solid and not a whisper of wind coming through. The tent itself is HUGE! The pods are a great size and a family of five fit well into two pods leaving one free for guests or to store clothes and provisions. The porch makes a great kitchen and even if the weather's good we still cook in it.
We use wind breaks to cordon off 'our area' and with the height of the tent and the porch area it provides sufficient privacy without being rude!
So far we've not had too much trouble pitching this tent on different sites although one campsite we've visited was very anti large tents - we pitched anyway and put it down to the owner having a bad day as there were other large tents on the site. We just love this tent!

We absolutely love this tent. We only use it for our week long holidays as it does take some time to pitch but the space and comfort it provides makes it worth all the initial effort, which is the reason we purchased it in the first place along with it's great looks. There are 5 of us (2 adults and 3 children (1, 8 and 9 yrs old). The two boys sleep in one pod and the baby sleeps with us in her own travel cot which fits in alongside our double airbed with room to spare. The extra pod is for clothes and food storage or on occasion extra guests (grandparents), leaving the living space free for tables and chairs and the porch for cooking.
We were initially a little worried about this tent pitching inner first, we have not so far had to pitch it in torrential rain but we pitched this time in light rain and it was no problem. Once pitched it's certainly solid and will hold up to the severest of weather conditions your likely to encounter within this island. It's certainly a big tent for fibreglass poles but so far we have had no problems with any aspect of the tent, the build quality is nothing less than I have come to expect (and enjoy) from Vango and there are no problems putting the tent back into the roller tent bag either.
Some sites will not accept tents of this design/size especially during peak season but then thats not an issue unique to this tent.
Would recommend following the pitching method outlined by Tabs-R-Us.
This is a great tent and one which we hope will provide us with many years of use and one which we'd have no hesitation in recommending to anyone looking for a 'big' family tent for secure and comfortable camping holidays but there's certainly no shortage of tents in this category these days.

We are just back from our first trip with this tent, what can I say , we love it. The tent is quite big and the extra space makes all the difference, 5 of us camped for 5 nights and having the luxury of the big living area and the porch made a great difference to us. At night there was plenty room to sit round the table, and it was cosy as we added the Diablo 900 XP fitted carpet which is excellent too. The bedrooms are a good size, plenty of room for a double blow up bed in each, and if you were using mats you could sleep a lot more in this tent.
It took my son and his friend and I about 1 hour to erect the tent, and it was a bit testing because of the wind, and also the fact that this was the first time it had been pitched. I reckon 45 minutes maximum the next time, less if it is not windy. We will never go back to small tents after buying this its just a great tent for a family and friends. Looking forward to the next trip already
