Well what a FANTASTIC tent. First purchase of a Vango and first inflatable tent and I have to admit it did not let down. Extremely spacious and extremely easy to put up, without rushing it took me less than 25 mins including pegging.
The extras vs. Last year model made it incredibly better for an extra £50.
The only thing I would add would be a way to open the windows however having said that there is plenty of air flow thanks to the sides and the front of the tent.
The tent is also very good in offering a lot of different specs to suit different families, I would strongly recommend it. Of course I have not had any other inflatable ones to compare it to however I know this is absolutely perfect in every way.

I have always owned Vango tents and have never been disappointed with their performance and I can say that we are not disappointed by the Illusion 800 either.
Like Larbea22 we owned a Maritsa 700 and were trying to find an airbeam that matched it for size while giving us the ease of pitching.
Having seen the Illusion 800 spec on line earlier in the year we managed to locate a local retailer with one pre-erected and on viewing it we realised that it was exactly what we wanted. With 4 bedroom pods in total (two can be linked together for extra space) we found that there was still plenty of space within the main living area, and with the fourth bedroom being removable this space can be increased still further.
An internal door, which can be folded back out of the way, separates the inner living area (with its sewn in groundsheet) from the outer living area which is ideal for cooking and eating.
There is plenty of ventilation and storage built in.
We also purchased to sun canopy as well as the awning both of which zip attach to the main tent and provide a fantastic amount of additional space. In fact on our recent camping trip we made use of both (thanks to the speed that they can be erected and taken down) with the extension being used for the first couple of days to ward off the wet and windy weather, and then the sun canopy for the remainder of the time when the sun came out. The only one thing I would say is that it is a shame that the sun canopy cannot be zipped to the awning, but with king poles the awning door can be used to create one.
I think that Vango have pretty much thought of everything with this tent, and we are very pleased with our purchase. May it serve us well for many years to come.

We were very excited about using our new tent for our fortnight holiday in Aberdaron this year. The lay out was perfect for our family of 5 as we were then later joined by Granny who had her own pod in the living area. I loved how cosy it felt at night time once the living area was completely zipped in.We got the carpet too so think this added to the cosiness (though why this doesn't hook in to stop it creasing really annoyed me.I may fashion some Velcro tabs at some point).
I have a few little gripes with this tent. The fact that the footprint (which we got extra) doesn't go under the front area of the tent is perplexing.Maybe there is a perfectly valid reason but the floor of the front section after a fortnight needs a damn good clean.Seems odd that there I no protection for this. My second is the zips. Why aren't they 2 way? This is only a small thing but with small children I would feel much safer at night knowing they can't escape as they can't reach the zips.
My final is the flimsy feel of the bedroom material. We already have a small tear along the seam of one where one of the children has leant on the wall. They should be more substantial for the price.
Not wanting to dwell on the negatives though, this tent has stood up to the wind and rain that was thrown at us on a few days of holiday. We felt safe, secure and warm in the tent.
We did buy the front extension. This was not so successful in the wind.We decided to take it down at 11.30pm in the wind and rain as I feared it wouldn't last the night. The wind was blowing to the front of the tent and there is just too much width to the extension without any anchorage. It was blowing inwards, allowing rain in the bottom.I'm going to be in talks with Vango about this. Also, the groundsheet that was supplied was just ridiculously too big! I had to double it over and peg it down.Again, this will all be going in an email to Vango.
The extension does provide an excellent place to sit in the evening, to cook in and store things, but I do feel let down by it.
All in all, this is a substantial investment of a tent which I'm hoping will last us a good few years. The airbeam works well, I did check the pressure every few days to ensure it was secure. It packs away brilliantly (once you've viewed the youtube video!) and goes up like a dream.
Overall we are satisfied with the tent and look forward to making many happy memories in it.

We got this tent after returning our outdoor revolution 6.0xt to the retailer - we used it for the first time this weekend in the Scarborough area and we were grateful for the varying weather - the tent received a thorough soaking, then warm sunshine, high winds and lightning - I am pleased to say it stood up up the tests very well.
We found it easy to put up, and liked the layout with the 4 rooms - the kids slept well which is also a good sign
I will probably get the extension and canopy as that but of extra living space as we use the 4th room in the lounge area
The air vents help to ensure no condensation so far and excellent storage
Overall really impressed.

Having owned three Vango tents, we aren't disappointed at all with the Illusion 800.
We used to own a Maritsa 700 and have tried desperately to find an airbeam tent that matched it in size, while giving us the ease of pitching.
The Illusion has done exactly that!
Three bedroom pods, 2 of which can be merged into one big bedroom. Plus the 'spare' fourth bedroom pod which can be put up in the lounge area if needed.
Without that extra pod you get a lovely spacious lounge, with large side doors to both sides, perfect for letting a breeze through on hot days.
There are dividing doors between the lounge and the attached porch area, which we use as a kitchen. Plenty of room in here, plus the added bonus of the front door opening in a range of configurations to allow for ventilation, and of course access in and out of the tent.
All the usual Vango features are included, zip down windows (although we do tend to find that dead bugs congregate in the pocket formed), plenty of storage space in the tent and in the bedrooms and good head height too, giving a nice airy feeling.
We also purchased the sun canopy which, when you have the front doors rolled up, offers that little bit of shade in front of the tent. Nice to sit under on an evening.
We also have the front extension which we've not yet used, but in typical Vango fashion there is a risk the colours might change next year so we've bought all we need to make a matching set.
Overall we're VERY pleased with our purchase, we've got our wish of a Maritsa in airbeam format.
