Bought this tent for just the 2 of us, wanted something big (we like our space. Not that we don't get along!) and to replace our much loved Killington 400, so that we could rattle around in it and not need to put up additional awnings etc. Ticks all the boxes for our requirements and tested in a very wet October, but as has already been mentioned, the flimsy internal 'pods' let it down. Also we were unable to errect as per video (all poles inserted and lift). This mainly due to the OH only being a petite thing, and I am no Arnie. Easier to peg out at back and then insert poles from the back 1 at a time (that's our solution anyway). Good tent, but considering the quality issues reported on the 700 & 500 models in 2010, bit surprised there are issues with this new one, but nothing in our case that affects the function of the tent.

This is our current tent and will be for a long while!
We love this tent, no problems or complaints whatsoever.
Size is brilliant, living area is spacious. A porch built in so perfect for cooking. Pockets for things everywhere! And a walk in closet for us women. Perfect! Only used it once but we decided straight away that it was worth every penny. The quality is great. Would recommend to anyone.

We bought this tent in July 2011, and have just got back from a long weekend away in it. I have to say I could not fault it at all, 10 people in camp chairs sat in the living space comfortably. We used the porch as a kitchen for the whole camp, and managed to fit 2 camp kitchens and a table in there to cook on. We originally bought the tent to fit two motorbikes to fit in the porch, which we tried this weekend, although they did fit it was snug. I would recommend investing in the footprint if you are going to have a dog inside the tent as ours has already put a hole in it.

I am in love with this tent!
We bought it this year as our first tent, to start camping with our 2 girls (5 years and 13 months old). We went and looked around lots of different ones but nothing came close to this! Amazing headroom HUGE living space, ample bedroom space (could actually sleep 6!) and we wanted room to grow. We love the fully sewn in groundsheet, built in porch, as others have mentioned, to keep the hot bits away from little ones. We also bought the carpet and footprint which makes life much easier :) I quite like the fact there are separate zips for the fly and door - means I will get a little warning if one of the kiddies tries to escape! We have yet to go away, but first saw it up in howling winds, and managed to get it up on a rather hot and extremely breezy day, so I know it will not be going anywhere. It is heavy with the steel poles, and it does take up a lot of space, but we got it back into the bag easily, just need to practice getting it up and down. Can't wait to get camping, i'm sure we will have this tent for many many years to come!

This is the first family sized tent we have bought, we narrowed down a few that we thought would suit us, then saw this and decided it was the one for us. As another reviewer has said the inbuilt porch was a major plus for us. We didn't have a chance to try pitching the tent, so we watched the videos and armed ourselves with a copy of Marmin instructions. In the event it took us 45 minutes to pitch, even with the help of our 2 and 4 year olds.
For us the tent ticks all the right boxes, roomy, good head height and stayed stable in the wind and rain. We did notice that one of the toggles on the bedroom has come loose, so we will be watching that. We've also just ordered the front extension, the tent is fine without for 2-3 nights but we are planning some weeks away next year and the extra space will be handy.

I decided I wanted to go camping one day so went a bought a tent! This tent stood out as more spacious then the rest and I liked it being green as it didn't reflect in the sun! We had a 2 night break in the rain and wind and this tent was outstanding, no leaks and no movement, can't ask for more then that! The only fault I can find with this tent is the bedroom sections material is a bit naff and has ripped already, but on the whole and excellent tent!

Replaced our old Gelert tent with this one and used it for the first time last week. Big attraction was the large living area and sewn in porch. Agree that not being able to open both zips at once is a niggle but only a minor one. Overall, thoroughly pleased with it. Found difficult to put up this time but think it will be easier now we've done it once. Agree 45 to 50 minutes a more accurate time for putting up. Only real disappointment is the quality of the inner tent material. We are not boisterous campers but the lining frayed away from the zip on one of the inner tents and a toggle that connects it too the main tent has frayed too. I will be asking for these to be replaced but think they will need very careful handling. Overall, great tent, very spacious for growing teenage children! Had high winds and rain first few days but remained very sturdy and dry.

I recently bought this tent having previously owned an Outwell Oakland XL. The reason for selling my Oakland was that I really wanted an inbuilt porch area to keep my kettle/toaster/gas stove so it was away from my 4 year old and that I could close up in the wind and rain and also on a night. The Vango Maritsa 600 was the only tent I could see that had this option without having to add awnings etc to the tent. We have used the tent for a 3 night break and it was fantastic. We had wind and some rain and the tent didn't move, the steel poles and the way they were positioned were very sturdy. The tent itself was roomy and the bedrooms were just right for us as a family of 4, the 13 year old had her own double room separate from us, with the 4 year old having the zip up partition open to join up with our room to make 2 double rooms into one. The main living area has a door that zips to the porch and with the porch zipping up too you could go make a drink on an evening without having to open up to the outside letting wind and rain in. The porch was also a great place for the luggable loo on a night!
Took me and my husband about 45 mins to get the tent up first time, I recommend putting all steel poles in, pegging back out, place pins in (which we found very easy, loosen straps, pin non tension side then lift the poles a little upright to put other pin in then drop down and onto next one until you reach the front), then pull all poles to back, lift and walk forward, when you have the tent upright and in roughly in position peg the front down, then you can go round the tent positioning the poles properly, then peg it all down.
We never used the two side doors on the main tent area and just used the tent porch doors for access, I always kept the mesh door closed to stop bugs from entering the main tent area a the kids freak out if there's a fly in the tent! let alone a bee!
All in all we are very pleased with the tent and it suits us as a family perfectly, I was in an Outwell bubble before thinking they were the best tents but this Vango tent has proved me wrong, just as good for a lot less money, we paid £340 by shopping around for best price then getting another 10% discount, paid just under £100 on top for footprint and carpet. It also has the added benefit of no extra awning fees from campsites as it is just one unit, cant wait to take it to France in July.

Just bought one of these, coming from many happy years with an Outwell Minnesota. We are 2 adults and a 11yo girl and a 7yo boy. We managed to pick one up for £360 and loved the shape and size so went for it.
Build quality is our only gripe, two 'toggles' to hold the bedrooms pulled out first use, and a couple of others look loose. Tent pegs are made of wafer thin tin or something, DON'T go camping relying on these they will bend in a second, Tent pole bag is made of tissue paper and tears if you look at it sternly.
We are by no means heavy on our kit, we have owned the Outwell for 8 years and have never even had to buy tent pegs for that, even the bags are pristine.
don't buy one of the blue ones of these as they are VERY bright in sun and feel very headachey inside in sun!
On the plus side it takes 20 mins for me and my wife to erect!
This tent is marvelous but I would recommend erecting it as below and check all the fixings on first use!
It kept us warm and dry on a rainy weekend and had lots of room for our friends and their children to take refuge from their stuffy tent!
Heres how we found it useful to pitch
1)Lay out and peg the back two corner straps (loosen all straps right off, and peg all straps non taught)
2)Assemble all the poles whilst separate
3)start at the back and insert the arch, then uprights.
4)insert the pin on one side (TIP:move the ten along the arch towards the end you are inserting the pin, then move it back)
5)insert the pin in the other end
6)move on to the next one and repeat to the front one.
7)Loosely peg the front two pegs.
8)Quickly move around the ten adjusting the legs to get the tent 'square'.
9)N.B. (this bit takes a bit of practice/trial and error)Time to adjust the straps, take care, done wrong and the ground sheet raises/doesn't go to the ends/pulls. What you need to do is realise that the strap you pull brings the tent closer to the ground AND pulls the groundsheet. Try to pull the groundsheet side through which raises the tent, THEN tighten the strap.
10)Keep checking inside the tent to make sure the ground sheet is snug to the side with no pulls.
11)at this point you may need to reposition the poles a bit, try to keep then right next to the seams on the tent.
12)Fasten all the ropes and insert the bedrooms (CARE, they are fairly week).
Hope I'm not teaching Grandmas to suck eggs.
We do love the tent.

Just a quick update following on from my wifes review. We've used the tent 3 times now and all in all we're quite pleased with it. HOWEVER there are one or two (some may say minor) points which I think I should point out.
Firstly Vango have made these coloured plastic mouldings that fit on the legs and cross pieces to identify the correct poles to the correct sleeves. A great idea on the plastic mouldings are cheap and nasty and a waste of time and don't stay where they're supposed to so I suggest the first thing you do before pitching is to get some coloured tape and id the poles yourself and don't rely on the silly plastic things. Ours starting coming off on the second time out. The other niggle for me is the door nets. On our old Diablo you had a choice of opening the door and net together or separately. With the Maritsa they're separate and therefore you have to undo two zips as opposed to one. Ok, it maybe a minor thing but that's what reviews are for. I also question where they've placed the tent tidies, one in the porch area would be more useful.
On the plus side, we haven't had any problems with water getting in as some of the 2010 tents did and that maybe due to the material upgraded to a 4000 HH. It's stable tent and even in the strong winds we had this weekend in Wales we were confident that the tent was more than up to the job. It's roomy as my wife has said and after pitching it 3 times now it's getting easier but I think 30 minutes to fully pitch the tent isn't that accurate. I would allow 45 - 50 minutes and maybe longer the first couple of times. It's a heavy tent to handle by yourself to two people are needed to erect it.
In general a nice tent with some good features we've to expect from Vango but it could be better if they hadn't tried to cut corners on some of the basics and had put just a little more thought into the design.
