New to camping last year so we didn't really know what our needs were. Luckily we chose well. With 3 children and 2 dogs we use all the space in this tent. Our kitchen gets set up in the front porch, shoes come off here and dogs muddy paws get wiped here too so the carpet stays fairly clean. We survived howling winds, rain and an earthquake in North Wales in May - we were very glad of our sturdy poles. Now that we've got the hang of erecting the tent (and stopped being campsite entertainment!) we really enjoy our trips with this tent. I havent seen another tent that would suit our needs better

Just spent two (dry) nights away in our Maritsa 700. We used to have an Outwell Hartford XL which we thought was really good, but having used this one we were really impressed. The space in both the living area and the porch is more than enough for two adults and our 16 and 11 year old kids and all our kit, including the dog! The bedrooms were plenty big enough and the dark bedrooms allow you to sleep in longer. The only draw backs are the putting up, we found the canvas seems to need really stretching over the central pole, to the point it felt like the canvas would rip, we checked all the poles were pushed in properly etc but it was really tight, the other issue is the floor to the porch at the door not being sewn in meaning the canvas seems to flap around and does not give confidence that it will not let water in when it rains. The cable entry points were really useful and the windows give plenty of light, the doors being either side of the tent and the one at the front meant we can cool the tent down quickly if we've been out all day. All round good tent and worth the money when you compare it to others of similar size etc. Definitely recommended.

A brilliant tent lots of space and simple to erect. Two slight down sides -
1) its impossible for me to put up by myself which is what prompted me to write this review as having taken our old tent camping alone with the children I realised exactly how great this maritsa is! boy did I miss it!
2) if you don't peg out the front flap of the porch it can come into the porch a little bit if it rains unexpectedly - this is a bit fiddly to do from the inside!
These are tiny issues however outweighed by the masses of space you get for a tent which is quick and simple to erect.
The bedrooms have plenty of space, one of the bedrooms can be divided into two to make three altogether, the central one can be used as a wardrobe although we have never bothered using the hanging rail. Alternatively it can be left as a bigger room and the versatility has been useful when we have had friends come along with us.
The porch area is useful to cook in when the weather is bad as the porch area can be closed off from the main living space. Its a lovely big area so muddy footwear and wet coats can easily be stored out of the way.
Final point. We went camping in it rather early in the season last year - we awoke to 6 inches of SNOW which melted over the next two days and over that time not a hint of a leak!
Would absolutely recommend.

Just back from 2 weeks camping. Rained once and only water leak was by front door due to flap not positioned properly. Used 3 times now and gets easier to put up as you are more familiar with the routine but some poles do stick when taking apart. We tie the poles together by their color groups and this makes it easier for putting up the next time.
We had 6 people on inflatable beds, with suitcases for 2 weeks so
Maybe not so much room as other people.
Couldn't use the hanging rail as it was a bedroom but worried that the weight of clothes might rip the interior.
Porch area great as a kitchen/ bike store.
First tent we have used so not sure about how it compares to others. Certainly cheaper options available. Didn't like the sloping sides in the bedrooms as the people on the outside woke with their faces rubbing on the material.

Brilliant tent . Does exactly what it says on the tin. . Plenty of space always gets a few visitors when we pitch it. Used it in wind and rain with no problems. Plenty of vents when it's hot and the 'blackout' bedrooms mean you can get a full nights sleep instead of being woken by brilliant sunlight way before breakfast time.

I love this tent. Have just spent 5 rainy days in it perfectly comfortably and think we would have gone stir crazy in anything smaller.
The porch area makes a fabulous kitchen and storage area leaving loads of space in the living area. We were able to safely cook in the porch which was a godsend in the rain.
There's masses of really useful storage pockets for little stuff in the living area and plenty of light from the windows when the doors are shut.
The darkened material on the sleeping pods works a treat and my kids slept like logs.
The only thing I felt was missing in this tent was a few storage pockets in the porch area and the middle pod/wardrobe area.

Life seems to go round in circles. Our first tent was a cotton canvas Lichfield Vermont, which was fairly small for our needs, but sturdy and comfortable. We replaced that with a Sunncamp Palace, which Gave us the size we needed, but demanded that we buy a bigger estate car, a trailer and roof box for all of the gear, which was not ideal for weekends away or touring through Europe. So we bought a Vango Tigris 600, which we could use at weekends, and which packed away in the top box and did away with the need to drag a trailer. We used the Palace for weeks away un the UK, but felt that we wanted the convenience of a tent which packed up fairly small, but would give us the space, we were all set to get a Vango Samara, but came across this strange looking Marista at Go Outdoors in Basingstoke, and we were impressed.
We had a practice erection (ooh Missus!) and found it as easy to put up as the Tigris - Start at the back and walk it forward - and once up we discovered that the enclosed porch area took the Tigris's fitted carpet almost exactly, and the living area is about twice the size ia the enclosed porch.
We set up our kitchen in the porch area, which has freed up so much space in the living area that we felt that we were back in our Sunncamp Palace.
The triple bedroom is just the ticket, with a camp bed either side and walking space in between. The other double bedroom swallows my son's campbed, and gives him space to walk about as well. The walk-in bedroom in the middle is just right. We installed our wardrobe, and voila - we have our dressing room.
We like the vented side doors, although we haven't ever used them as doors apart from when we put it up and put it down. The Electric access points are numerous, although there is a slight niggle - I wish that they had put a zipped access point between the porch and the living area - we had to run an extension from our porch back out into the outside and then back into the living area to allow us to power the lights! (and telly, heater, PS2, Radio, etc)
We were a bit wary about possible leaks, following comments made on these pages from other owners, but didn't experience any problems at all during a thunderstorm in the French alps last summer, so we have got a good 'un.
If there is a downside to this tent, it is caused by one of it's great advantages - the poles! Unlike the Tigris, which has fibre glass poles, this thing has aluminium ones which make this tent very sturdy and rigid, but they are very heavy, and it does take up space in the car - which brings us back to the reason why we sold our Palace - A big and comfortable tent, but heavy and bulky.
But do you know what?.It is well worth it if you get a waterproofed one!
Top Tip: Get a Maritsa Groundsheet - This thing is enormous, and you can 'fit' the tent onto a pitch better if you use the groundsheet as a guide. We found some pitches in Italy were just too small for us, The groundsheet saved us from trying to put up the tent in pitches which were just too small.

We bought the Maritsa 700 for its space, previously having a 6 berth Outwell. The first trip we took the tent leaked - everywhere - awning windows, doors, floor etc etc. We took it straight back to go outdoors, and after looking at the pictures we had taken, said it had not been waterproofed. We got an immediate exchange. Our next trip was our 2 week family holiday in Cornwall. Again, the tent leaked. My son woke up one morning to find it had leaked that bad, it had come through onto his sleeping bag, which was soaking. Again, we took it back to go outdoors, who firstly said they would have to test it (which would not have been an issue), but after seeing the pictures we took gave us an immediate refund! We have now gone back to an Outwell and couldn't be happier with it. I contacted Vango about problems with both tents and am still waiting for a resolution to this 4 weeks later. In my opinion, Vango family tents are poor, their customer service is worse.

Hi, bought this tent for our family for a trip to France. After 3 nights it started to rain. Within 5 minutes it was leaking along the whole back roof seem, The sleeping pods were wet and all sleeping bags wet. The overall quality was shocking for this tent. My advise is don't buy one. After sending an e-mail to Vango I am still awaiting there response after a week so looks like they do not care about customer service. A two week holiday wrecked by a leaky tent.

Just returned from 4 day camping trip. I brought this tent from Go outdoors about 3 months ago and only just had the opportunity to use it.
I upgraded from an Outwell Hartford and I thought I was only ever going to buy Outwell tents again. However I needed a little more room for my wife and two girls and although I wanted an Outwell tent when my wife saw the Vango Maritsa 700 she wanted it, and she was right it is a fantastic tent. Here are a few of my highlights.
The porch is great, it frees up a lot of space in the living area. I sent up my cooking area in here with the front door half open.
The living area can get very hot but with the vets, and side doors it cools down very quickly.
The dark material in the sleeping pods give you a few hours extra sleep.
The walk in wardrobe is brilliant keeps clothes out of the way, but can also be used as an extra bedroom if necessary.
There are electrical points all around the tent for easy access to the hook up.
I read a few reviews of this tent before I brought it and the one thing that was highlighted in a few of them is that the steel bars would cease up and not come apart, but I had no problems with this.
Finally and maybe the most important for one day and night there was torrential rain and 20mph winds and there was no sign of any leakages anywhere.
I can't rate this tent hight enough 10/10
Thanks Vango
