Just had our first trip out in the Monte Verde for a week and it certainly is a big tent!
Plus points:
Very roomy, with the front porch being separate to the main living area, it means you can keep your wet and mucky stuff away from your nice, clean carpet!
There are absolutely LOADS of air vents and so we have absolutely NO condensation.
It stood up very well to some very strong winds, it flapped around a lot but didn't budge, bend or break.
The windows are very large and make the space nicer to sit in.
Minus Points:
I wish the groundsheet in the porch zipped out so that you can keep the front 'doors' rolled up when it's raining without causing a puddle.
There are LOADS of air vents which can't be closed so it was very draughty when the wind picked up.
The hanging rail in the wardrobe compartment kept falling off when the end stoppers slipped off. We ended up supergluing them on!
All in all, a very nice, solid, versatile tent but BIG!

Bought this in a hurry after our Coleman Savannah broke when we attempted to erect it in strong winds, and got a great deal from Ultimate Outdoors in Keswick, who beat internet prices for us. The tent itself is pretty easy to put up, even for two people. The footprint is worth buying to simplify the process. As others have mentioned, it's often difficult to get the poles apart afterwards, but it you strike the join lightly with your mallet a couple of times, they'll come apart quite easily. It's a big tent when packed up, and strangely the bag which contains the canvas is sturdier and has wheels, whilst the much heaver pole bag is less tough and has to be carried!
Apart from a very minor leak around one zip, we have had none of the problems with leaking that others had reported, despite getting caught in a spectacular thunder and lightning storm almost overhead that would have tested any tent.
Like most others, we bought the tent for flexibility and space. We can keep anything that might be wet in the porch (shoes, coats, even bikes), and the sewn-in groundsheet is a boon there. Inside, the living area is cavernous, though the largest room is still a little small for my taste, with little space left over once a double airbed is installed.
There's plenty of ventilation, with a mesh panels on three sides, so you can let the breeze come from any direction.
A few minor quibbles aside, I'm very happy. So long as you can handle the size of the tent, both in your garage/attic, in your car, and in hiring a pitch, then I'd certainly recommend it.

Bought this tent in July after looking at every possible make and model available. Was not disappointed! Went away for the first time in it in august and could not get over the space. It's HUGE. Check out the photos I posted. We had so much space we didnt know what to put in it.
We loved it though and ticked every box. All fully sealed in ground sheet in living area and porch. Think this is the only tent to have a fully sealed in porch which was great as you can put the additional tent inner in either the living area or porch. We used it in the porch as a dressing area/wardrobe room which was fab.
Had so many comments when we put the tent up. Everyone who passed commented on the space and size.
Was easier to put up than we thought. Took about 45 mins for the first time. Hoping it will be quicker as we learned a few things the first time round.
We bought the footprint and carpet which were great additions. No more trying to pack away a dirty tent and the carpet made it nice and tidy looking and nice underfoot.
Would recommend to anyone. No problems at all with ours. Endured torrential rain the third day and only had two small puddles and that was only because we forgot to zip up the cable entry points!

We are virgin campers and have just come back from our holiday in Newquay. We bought the Monte Verde 900 because the size and layout was perfect for us. After a practise run on pitching in our local park, we found it pretty easy to put up and take down. Did have a slight problem with the poles pulling apart. Been virgin campers, we know nothing about tents leaking. We had one day of really bad wind and rain, the tent leaked from every single zip on the window curtains.Could somebody please tell us if it is normal to have some leaks from your tent in bad wind and rain? This tent is 5000 hydrostatic head. We are feeling really disappointed about our tent, we love everything about this tent but the leaking is a big concern to us. We have been in touch with the shop we bought it from and they are going to send it to Vango to be tested. Is this a common thing does anyone know? We loved the camping way of life but very let down by the tent. Help!

Just an update on our previous review. The tent needed replacing due to poor stitching, floor leaked, and the mounts for the bed pods were coming away.
Customer services were excellent and the repair service impeccable however on their own admission the tent was so poorly made they had to 'condemn it'.
We have since taken the new tent away and in all fairness much was resolved, but poor material is even letting the replacement down. A hole appeared in the groundsheet in the porch area and the stitching is also coming away in a number of places. The pegging points on the footprint have also come away.
With regards to the pitching we are going away this weekend and are already dreading it, and rather sadly (and expensively) looking at other options.
Nice tent, poorly made, design suits a large family but you will neglect them for a very long time whilst you struggle to pitch.

We put this tent up for the first time on a site where we could see the sea and it was very windy but it was very easy.
We hadnt bothered to weather the tent before going away and we had some very wet and windy weather to put up with over the weekend. We didnt have any problems with leaks .
The space inside the tent is fantastic we loved everything about this tent.
The only slight problem we had the same as the previous review was getting some of the poles apart but a bit of washing up liquid did the job.

Needing to replace my dark Khyam we stumbled over the Vango Monte Verde 9. We bought it with footprint and carpet and set off on holiday. Easy peasy to pitch, wonderful space and we just loved it. However. Carpet annoyingly kept creeping down one end of tent. Then the rain came and we go soaked inside the tent. Having pots and pans every where and wellies on, it was not great. Tent also leaked from hooks in floor. We also found 3 holes in tent. We send it back to the shop who carefully tested it and returned to us saying it was the worse and shockingly badly manufactured tent they had seen for a long time. DON'T BUY. We got our money back and have now bought an Outwell Arkansas 7. Fingers crossed.

Used for eight days Whitsun Holiday. Easy enough to pitch, (got our own method) in about 45 minutes. Would recommend you watch video first on how to erect it, then work out what method is best for you. We found inserting the keys in the poles impossible at first and then realised that if you pull as much of the tent over the roof poles towards you, then put the key in, it IS as easy as it looks on the video. Just glad we set it up in the garden first!
We invested in footprint and carpet, in my opinion could have done with velcro to keep carpet in place as it rucks up due to deliberate 'split' about half way to accommodate fixing point for extra pod.
Me being only 5ft 2 cannot reach to hook pods onto roof of tent. But head room wonderful for the taller people.
Very roomy and plenty of light, due to large windows.
Only fault we found was eyelets came off on front double door ground sheet, but have replacement rubber ones which provided instant fix.
Poles are hard to pull apart, but a little oil did the trick.
We weathered our tent before we went and had no leaks whatsoever despite a couple of bursts of rain.
Would definitely recommend buying one. It is a fairly large tent and you should check with sites BEFORE you book, to see if they can accommodate you and whether they will charge you extra.

We've given this tent a high score as it is almost perfect but there were a few niggly faults that pulled it from a 10/10; without those however it would certainly have reached that height.
The tent is easy to pitch once you get the hang of it and certainly does not need the three shown in the video; my hubby mostly pitched on his own with me just to lift and prop. Similarly he brought the tent down almost single handedly.
We did invest in the footprint and carpet and it was well worthwhile.
Loads of space, attractive, the covered porch with the doors is just wonderful in less balmy weather. You could easily sleep more as well, as the inner area is so well obscured.
Only niggles: we have to re-sew a strap for one pod that came undone, and the poles were really hard to pull apart. Also, there's a central point in the porch that is a pod anchor point (that was a bonus we had not expected) and water seeped in around that so we will need to re-seal.
Would we buy again? Absolutely; by far the best of it's size and type that we found. But the niggles would be better sorted, and may well have been isolated to our tent.
Oh and you'll need a big pitch: Forest Holidays charge an extra £3 a night for it (pegged size). Not the end of the world but you do need to be careful where you book.
