Most people know the problems - the front door is a bit weird - and a bit of rain drips in - there are a lot of guy ropes. The height in sleeping part is not really standing room and I'm short - however it is the coolest tent - no one mentions the bit we liked best, a feature that is on no other tent - it has windows in the roof of the living part - so if you zip back the outer part of the inner tents door, so its just mesh, when you are lying in bed you can see the sky. We didn't realise this until we went to bed first night - dont know of any other tent where you can see the stars from your pillow - and sitting out in the living part at night is like being in a wigwam with a skylight - loved it

Easy to erect, great tent even in Lakeland rain. Good ventilation that reduced condensation. Took about 20 minutes to erect and another 10 minutes to adjust guy ropes to suit the pitch we where on the first time out. Nice all round tent with plenty of room when camping with 2 dogs and you need to cook under canvas because of the great British weather.

What have the grape and dove one and its great! Our first camping trip in it was a week of super heavy rain and gale force winds in 2008! We didn't expect the tent to last more than one night but it was great and did a remarkable job. We witnessed other tents collapsing and poles breaking around us but our Orchy stood firm! One morning we woke to find that it had been raining so hard we were now pitched in the middle of a 2' deep puddle all around us, in the tent we were still dry though. The only problem we had has been mentioned on here before, the weather strip on the zip wouldn't seal as there is not really enough velcro there to give it a good seal to we did get some very light amounts of water coming in at the zip on the front door in heavy rain. This was solved by chucking a towel on the floor by the door lol. I am going to add a few bits of velcro to it to help seal it in future. The only other thing I would say is the front/main door always seemed to be a bit saggy! No big deal though!

My only other moan about it is Vango no longer do any canopies or extensions in the grape and dove colour combo, thats annoying as it's a lovely colour combo lol

Just bought this tent before we went camping. Ideal for two adults - loads of room. Quite cosy with the built in ground sheet - we put a couple of picnic blankets down on the floor in the living area. The tent is easy to put up and easy to take down. Plenty of ventilation; windows to look out of if it is raining. The tent stood up well to the wind and rain - though we did actually get some sun as well. Would definitely recommend this tent for two adults with maybe a small child but can't see four adults using it unless they know each other very well

Love this tent for short weekends or just me and my son going away.

I found it so easy to put up and managed it on my own. Got enough room for 2 adults and a small child for a few days away definitely not big enough for 4 adults though. I manage a double air bed, camping wardrobe to divide it and a single airbed and the loo hiding in the end if needed. The living area can fit a large camp kitchen and two chairs if wanted. Carpet a must for warmth and comfort. I also have the footprint which makes packing it back up a breeze. Recently have purchased the vango sun ext with door for this model it is amazing and gives you a separate cooking area and somewhere to hold of the rain while you zip up the doors. Definitely recommend for small families or single parents wishing to take their young ones away as can be put up on your own.

Just back from first camping weekend with my husband and 2 young kids (7 and 3). Didn't have any rain, thankfully, so cannot comment on the waterproof qualities of the tent. The tent was perfectly spacious for the 4 of us although the two double airbeds are a tight squeeze in the bedroom compartment. Living area ideal for us and the two doors were good also for flexibility. SIG made it cosy and draught proof. Agree that it may be too small for 4 adults, perfect for a small family like ours though. Pleased with the tent and looking forward to our next trip.

We Bought this tent to go to Cornwall as we were looking for a tent we could stand up in to get dressed & sit in if it rained. We did the test run of putting it up & thought it was fab. 3 of us squeezed into the bedroom area and it was very cosy to say the least. Then the rain & the wind started. The tent leaked through the zip as the zip flap would not stay over the zip so we ended up with a puddle. The tent also pushed in at one side with the wind and therefore made our living area smaller & we were a bit worried whether it would last or not. It also dripped in water through a part near the window. Where the blinds fastened up to the ceiling bit ripped within 5 mins of use and one of the window blinds just hung down as there was nowhere to fasten it to, so you couldn't get dressed without one person holding the cover over window. Needless to say we have since returned this tent & got a full refund. We are now looking to get one a little bigger as just a bit tight with 3 adults sharing.

We recently bought the Vango Orchy 400 as we wanted a tent which was tall enough for us to be able to stand in, and big enough to sit comfortably in of an evening if it was wet. Well thank goodness we did, we have just come back from our first weekend away in a very wet and windy North Wales. It seemed to take us a lot longer than 20 mins to pitch the tent but a lot of this time was spent undoing all the guy ropes (we didn't do a test run before we went!). Apart from this it seemed relatively easy to pitch with the two of us. It says it's a 4 birth but once we'd blown the airbed up and put the sleeping bag on it, we couldn't use the bedroom partition and we had to turn the bed sideways. We then had room down the sides but there would only be room for a small child to fit in comfortably, but it's perfect for the two of us.

Because it rained non stop, we couldn't sit outside and our two chairs fitted fine in the living area with plenty of space for our kitchen unit and some other bits and pieces. The tent stood up very well to the rain and wind. Another good thing are the windows that let a lot of light in.

Negative points to the tent is that the front door is not very good when it's raining, because it's at an angle, when you open it, you have to hold it at that angle otherwise the door comes in to the tent and deposits all the rain water on the floor! It would be good if it had poles to hold the door up with, which I have seen on many other tents.

Unlike others we didn't seem to have too many problems packing the tent away (thanks to my fiance)but the bag is not that oversized, you have to really roll the tent tight to get it in without problems.

All in all it's a very good tent but the front door lets it down a bit hence the 8/10.

I've bought Vango products on and off for years, so I'm aware that quality can sometimes vary, but prices are usually pretty keen. This tent didn't disappoint us in any respect, it pretty much does what it says on the tin. It might be cramped for 4 persons, but it's plenty big enough for the two of us, and my girl and I are both around 6ft tall. It boasts plenty of light and space, and the 2 doors at 90 degrees {instead of opposite} are a good idea. It took us 20 minutes for the first pitch {thanks to the supplied pitching DVD} and we were moved in, glass of wine in hand, within a half hour. The experienced camper might find one or two faults, for instance, the 'oversized' carry bag?.Well, it isn't! But the novice, or semi-experienced oudoors lovers like us would find this tent to be a good, solid buy at a very fair price. Hope this post is of some help! Hugh

Generally this tent is OK. It is a good size for hubby and self to go away in now the kids don't want to come with us any more.

I just have a few problems with it, mainly to do with quality of the actual tent. We have used it twice now, each time it has rained. The beading on this tent is very inconsistent, its as if it has been made of 2 different qualities of fabric. The water slightly sinks in on some parts of the tent whilst other panels bead away beautifully.

The front vent covers are very floppy and don't really serve their purpose, there are no 'props' to hold them open as with other tents.

Putting the tent up is easy enough and even getting it back in the bag is not too much of a struggle, but I agree that the bag is hardly over-sized.

I have mainly marked it down due to the poor manufacturing quality.
