I done a lot of searching at the beginning of the year after selling my caravan, we wanted something that was spacious as we are two large adults and two children.

We went for a couple of weekends away in the early summer but it was two weeks in Wales in the school holidays that tested the tent. It was raining as we started to erect the tent but still managed to have it up and inner tents all in place and the kettle on in about 25minuets. It was a great holiday but it did rain on most days the first week but not one drop inside the tent, would not buy another tent unless it had the sewn in ground sheet. It was just as easy to take the tent down and yes if fitted back into the bag without a problem.

Overall love the tent and is really spacious, we used it with just the two bedrooms, as we have a queen air bed and would not fit in otherwise. Can not wait for next year.

We spent a great deal of time deciding which tent to buy, and selected this one because of its design, head room, feeling of spaciousness, darker bedroom and of course, price. We got a good deal on-line and paid just Ł270. We didn't purchase the awning as we are just 2 and don't need any more space.

We haven't been camping for several years and so were delighted that the tent was easy to erect, although it took about 40 minutes with my husband doing most of the work as I've got a bad back.

Although it is 6 berth, we sleep in the larger compartment and use the other one to store stuff we're not using.

There are plenty of windows and vents and a small porch on the side. Groundsheets are all sewn in, so there are no draughts and it keeps the beasties out to some extent.

The bedroom area is made of a darker fabric, which is helpful if you're a light sleeper.

Really pleased with our new tent, just need some nice weather to put it to good use!

I spent a long time making sure I was choosing exactly the right tent, and I'm happy I made the right choice.

The tent is huge! The living area is a brilliant size, with enough height to be able to stand up easily (I'm 5'7'' and had to stand on tiptoes to hang up the lantern!) There are loads of storage pockets in the living area (at least 20 altogether!) Which although wouldn't hold anything too heavy or bulky, they do keep most of your bits bits easily organised. There are four large windows too which make the tent nice and bright and being able to zip the curtains closed was a nice touch and stopped them flapping around. Ventilation is excellent, there are plenty of vents and all the doors have a separate mesh door so you can keep the tent cool without letting the bugs in.

The sleeping areas are a good size, each having plenty of storage pockets along the sides. The sleeping areas are made of a darker material which is nice at night although it doesn't block out the bright sunlight in the morning! The top part of the bedroom doors can be unzipped to reveal a mesh part for extra ventilation too.

Pitching was easy, the 20 minutes quoted is a tad optimistic for the first attempt (we did it in 35), but with practice, this would be easily achievable. Having all the poles the same length avoids any confusion and the ring and pin system is very well designed and easy to use. Putting the tent down and folding it up is a breeze and most amazingly, it easily fits back in the bag!

I was unfortunate enough to have the opportunity to test the Samara out in a thunderstorm which lasted most of the day and it held up very well, the tension band system looks as though it wont do anything, but it really did help stabilise the tent in the heavy winds, I was very impressed. However I did have a minor leak coming from the toggles over one of the windows. I assume this happened as a result of the extremely heavy rain somehow working its way under the ventilation flap and soaking through where the toggles had been sewn in. Given that there had been flash flooding not far away from the campsite, I think a few drips of rain was quite a good result!

I'm really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend the Samara, it look great, it's functional, comfortable and great value for money!

We have 4 children from 2-12 so wanted a tent we could be very comfortable in. This is our third tent but first Vango (we keep getting bigger tents with the expanding family!). It has proved absolutely ideal for us and has even stood up to two very windy expeditions, one in Yorkshire and one in Skye.

The bedding area really does sleep 6 as stated, we use 3 double air beds for sleeping on and they fit perfectly. We found previous tents a bit hopeful when they stated they would sleep 4 or 5 adults!

We have only got the standard tent, we did not buy the canopy although now considering it as it would be nice to have a separate area during wet weather for cooking or even just to dump wellies and damp clothes.

We found it very easy to put up and take down, I even managed on my own a couple of times.

Highly recommend as a solid family tent which does what it says on the tin and has a realistic sized bag for it to be stored in.

We bought this as our first family tent (My wife, Daughter 13, Son 10, 1 year old Border collie and myself). It seemed to fit our budget and criteria :-

- Plenty of living space

- 3 separate bed rooms

- Lots of windows

- Weather proof (my wife had never camped before and doesn't do bad weather)

We also bought the enclosed canopy as I have never been a fan of leaving a camp kitchen outside and didn't want to cook in the main tent (smell and dog!). Also, one of the reasons we chose the tent is the large living area and we didn't want to use up all this with kitchen stuff and wet clothes.

The tent has proved to be great on the two weekends we have used it so far - once in very Welsh weather (pouring rain and gale force winds) and once in lovely sunshine. The large living space really came into its own when we were tent bound due to the weather; we didn't feel on top of each other at all.

The only complaint I might make is that the quoted pitching times are a tad optimistic. They state 20 minutes, but it is usually at least on hour (plus canopy which goes up quite quickly). A certain amount of this will be down to our inexperience (tents weren't as complicated as this when I were a lad!), but not to that extend.

All in all, a great family tent and I would recommend it.

Superb tent with good interior size split between sleeping area and large internal area for table/cooking/playing if rainy. Tent is fairly light for the size, idiot proof in putting up and made to a good standard and crucially it actually fits back into the bag without you having to employ your feet in standing on it to force it in. Would recommend to anyone.

After having a bad experience with a Vango tent last year (Nile 600), we were a little apprehensive about going for another Vango product, however the tent ticked all the boxes that we needed so we took a leap and thus far have not been disappointed.

Firstly, the tent is a great size, much wider than we have had before but critically for us the pack size is less than similar size tents and overall weight is an excellent 27kg (Very important when restricted to saloon car). I haven't come across a tent of this size for so little weight before.

Tent was quick to set up with two people on first attempt, taking about 20 min's for main structure and another 15 to adjust and pin all the guy ropes. Interior layout is great with three good size sleeping areas of which one can be opened up into one large bedroom and the other which can be removed if not required giving a big storage area. Main living space is wide and tall with two side doors and central main door to front, all with zip mesh sections. We like a tent with good windows and visibility in the living area and the Samara does not disappoint.

Our sole camping trip so far was a windy weekend by the coast and we had constant 20 mph plus winds. The tent stood up to this very well but did flex around a little when stronger gusts hits. Tension bands on the interior can be used to sure up stability in such conditions and do a good job. They may be an annoyance to tall folks but they do store away in their own pockets when not required.

In all we are very happy with the tent thus far and looking forward to further trips.

We have just bought this tent after looking at various websites, and visiting the local camping shop. We went for our first trip this weekend, so we've not exactly put it to the test in bad weather - but as there are no other reviews yet for the Samara 600, I thought I would add one just based on our first trip.

Our children are three and four years old; so we wanted a large durable family tent, easy to put up, and with enough space to be inside (along with cooker, table and chairs) if it is rainy; and the Samara 600 seemed to provide all that as well as being good value. We also bought the footprint and the canopy.

We're really pleased with the tent - it's a well thought out design, with three doors, each of which has mesh, so you can have ventilation without the tent being completely unzipped. The windows are large, and it feels nice and bright inside (we have the moss colour).

The canopy (ours came with separate groundsheet included) practically doubles the living area, zips up at the front and is very spacious - though it does make the tent very long (around 8m) - I am not sure if this would be a problem on some sites? We're putting the cooker and the tables and chairs in the canopy area; but I guess you could also use it as a bad weather entrance/area. It makes the living space huge - but means the children can play in the main tent area; but we did also think that if size is a problem on some campsites, you could still easily manage with just the main tent, without the canopy - especially in nice weather.

The inner sleeping compartments were fine - each included mesh ventilation; and I think you could probably fit 6 adults at a squeeze - but with 2 adults and 2 children it is really very spacious, and gives a bit of extra space for bags and stuff. There are also a few storage pockets (in the sleeping compartments and in the main tent) which are handy.

Our only difficulty was putting it up in a strong wind - though I guess this is true for any tent. The pitch time is given as 20 minutes - it took us more like 45, and we did find it a bit difficult with just two of us to get the tunnel up and the guys pegged down at the same time on a windy day; but I guess we'll get quicker, and hopefully it will be calmer next time. Taking it down, it folded up quickly and relatively neatly, and easily fitted back in the carry case (phew!)

Overall, we are really pleased with this tent. Looking forward to more camping this summer.
