Just used ours for the first time and we really tested it! camped on the beach (nearly) we were really open to the elements, it was really windy and rainy but the tent never failed us. On a night we were sat inside and was really warm. We dont have the carpet but dont feel we need it as we dont play on the floor now as the girls are teenagers. The footprint made it feel warmer and we also used the side bit for our invaluable khampa khazi. The only thing I found annoying with the tent was all the zips to get in and out, I appreciate the design but getting in and out it just seemed like zip city, however this only a small snag and like I said it has design in mind. We have the extension which was great, we sat in there to and watched the rain as we cooked tea. Although not the cheapest tent around I do think it is worth every penny. Loads of room loads of space bedrooms fantastic due to height all in all 4 happy campers.

Great tent. We couldn't decide whether to get the Montana 6 or the Idaho and eventually went for the Montana - I couldn't be more pleased. Great headroom - even in the bedrooms, so nice to be able to standup to get changed. We use the side porch for a toilet which is really handy. Lots of space in the living room so when you bring the table and chairs inside there is still plenty of room for kids to play on the floor etc. We also got the carpet which is lovely - makes such a difference. Hubby wasn't convinced beforehand but now is a total convert. We also got the kids room, which was very popular and a great buy. We bought the extension when we got the tent but have only used the tent once and as the weather was so great and had more than enough space we didn't put it up. But it will be great in poorer weather and for a longer holiday. The footprint groundsheet is excellent - keeps the tent nice and clean. I would recommend this tent to families - we have two kids and there is more than enough space. Other families we met really admired it and their kids couldn't wait to get in to play in the kids room. Really love it!

Just returned from our first camping experience with the Outwell Monty 6 and what a pleasure it was. We took a while deciding whether it was worth the extra money to go for this tent and are now convinced we made the correct choice.
The tent is relatively straight forward to erect and put away with two of you (although the youtube video proves it can be done by one). Before we went we made sure we could put it up and down in the back garden which also served to check everything was present.
Buying the ground sheet for the tent meant the tent could be packed away from the camp site without having to get it out to clean it again and just the ground sheet needing cleaning when we got home.
The tent is very spacious with plenty of windows and doors for light to enter. The tent feels like a quality product with all the seams and zips feeling very secure. We loved it and can't wait to get out in it again.

We bought our Montana 6 last year and used it in Northumberland. Unfortunately the holiday ended early due to 17hours continuous rain with no let up forecast (yes we're lightweights) but when we took the tent up were amazed to find about 3 inches of water beneath us. The footprint and the carpet meant, as other reviews have said, that we were dry and snug inside the tent. This year in hot weather we found the tent comfortable for entertaining up to 5 others (along with our 4 dogs) inside and outside, and a number of evenings with extra tables up for 4 adults playing board games. We did struggle initially getting the tent back into the bag but hope we've cracked it now. Would not swap this tent with anyone - we dream about escaping to go sway and stay in it. It is everything you could hope for, with many thoughtful features on top. Brilliant!

Used the monty 6 for the first time last August when we went to Essex, very impressed with the size and how well it coped with the weather. We bought the footprint and carpet at the same time and we soon found our monty 6 very cosy. Lots of use and abuse by scouts and visitors, with lots of interest shown, no leaks or problems in all weather. Fits into bag with practice. Highly recommended.

We've had the Montana 6 since the end of last season and have done two weekends camping in it including one of the wettest and windiest bank holidays I can remember - without issue. This is a very roomy, well made tent with many thoughtful features and manufactured to an excellent standard.
Some of the key features include: 6'6' headroom throughout (I'm 6'2' and really noticed having to stoop in our previous tent for all but a small part of its layout); small weather sealed side entrance - great in the rain and wind; thoughtful 3+3 bedroom layout - ideal for a couple camping in luxury - one bedroom for sleeping the other for clothing etc; three entrances in total means that you should get great thru flow of air in warm weather, though we've yet to test this theory; very sturdy pole setup - I can't believe I saw a review elsewhere which said that poles BROKE in high wind, these things are pretty much nuke-proof, manufactured in galvanized 1' steel tube.
This tent it is relatively straightforward to pitch, even though physically quite demanding due to its weight - unquestionably a two person job.
Downsides include the weight of this beast and the size of it when transporting. We own a large estate car and have no kiddies or pets to transport so it's not really a problem for us, but in a smaller vehicle or without folded rear seats we'd probably have to do without a few of the more luxury items that we're used to when camping. I can also imagine that on sites where pitches aren't so generous you may have trouble keeping within your boundaries.
I've heard of leakage issues with this tent, but suffice it to say that having encountered conditions where I'd be perfectly forgiving of any tent letting in a few drips, we encountered none!
All in all our fist experiences are extremely favourable and I genuinely expect to get many years of service from this tent, such is the quality of manufacture and the attention to detail in terms of reinforcement at stress points, duty of poles and fabrics etc.

It has been said that the Montana 6 is a home from home, and I took this quote with a pinch of salt, until we got our Montana 6 and went camping in it.
The Outwell Montana feels sturdy, the windows around the living area bring in so much light, so even on dark days it still feels nice and bright within the tent. It also warms the tent up a treat on sunny days. Having the different options on the windows is great, having either the windows open, just the fly net, or all closed with a cover acting as a curtain in the evening for privacy.
The bedrooms are a good size, and can be made into one large room, or one of the rooms unzipped can give you more living area if needed.
The sewn in ground sheet makes all the difference in stopping the chill getting in of an evening and with all the vents around the tent, you do not get much condensation, even on wet days.
Because the Montana 6 can be put up in one go, even in the worse rain (as we had) we were able to put it up with only a few drips of rain inside around the doors in the end.
The storage pockets both within the bedrooms and the large pockets in the living area were very handy, and the children loved the small bed windows, which you can unzip in the morning while still laying in bed to see how the weather is.
We also brought and used the footprint and carpet. You can feel the difference having the footprint underneath and it did save the bottom of the Montana getting muddy. The carpet is pure luxury. It was lovely being able to walk around the tent in bear feet and for the kids to sit on the floor to play.
I can't wait for our next trip in our Montana 6, and I would highly recommend this tent.

Just had our first camp in the Montana 6 - surprisingly easy to erect and take down (although watched the you tube vids first) only a couple of tiny gripes - the zip flaps are a bit flappy and you have to take care not catch them in the zippers and it could do with an entry point for the hook up at the back and the other side to the porch. That said this tent is as close to perfection I have seen and look forward to many more trips.

Having tried a cheap tent from ebay and got the camping bug we have bought the Monty 6 and tried it this weekend.
Awesome!
Everything has been said in previous reviews so not much more to add.
A definite must is the footprint & the carpet, there arent many tents you can walk around in bare feet without feeling the cold!

We bought this tent this year after seeing our friends Montana 4. We decided the Montana 6 would give us a little extra space.
Wow. What a fantastic tent.
Our first weekend away in the tent was a very. Very wet one. It rained putting the tent up and continued for the remainder of the weekend.
It was easy to put up (even in the rain)and quick and easy to take down.
The SIG is fantastic and keeps the water and bugs out. The windows let in lots of light and makes the tent feel even bigger than it already is. The extra things on it like the storage pockets and zip opening for the EHU is great. The porch was a fantastic especially with the rain (somewhere to keep muddy wellies!)
The bedrooms are great especially because you can have them as two separate bedrooms but unzip them into one if you want.
The extras you can buy for the tent are also fantastic - Footprint Groundsheet is a must. Extension - great idea.
I can't recommend this tent enough. So much infact some friends of ours have been and bought one last weekend after being so impressed with ours.
Fantastic Tent!
