I don't think I could give enough praise to this tent.

Its really easy to put up, We put it up within 20 mins with just the 2 of us the first time we used it. 2nd time we put it up took 10 max.

Inside room is fantastic, Sharing with 4 people may get a little cramped, but only because we are now use to the room available for the 2 of us.

Second time we used it was at the Download festival, not all ropes were put up (no space) but the tent held its shape perfectly for 5 days, and held very well against heavy rain on the 5th day.

Only reason the tent doesn't get a 10 out of 10 is the main front door, being kept in place by a toggle made the door flap a bit in wind, was easily solved by tucking the flap under the tent and some weight applied inside the tent.

The windows are a nice touch letting enough light in during the day, the pockets inside the sleeping pod are helpful but the pockets hanging down are fantastic.

Will be buying the canopy in a few days to really make the tent a luxury and may look into buying the carpet next year.

Doubt I would buy another tent for the next 5 years if this one holds up, and if anything did happen I would probably buy it again.

This is the second tent I've owned, and I use for for both my wife and I, and for weekends away with the lads.

Very comfortable with 5 lads sharing, plenty of space in the living area for all the chairs and a table. Ideal for cards and beers when the weather turns.

Even more comfortable with just the wife and I. The bedroom has a removable partition which gives loads of space for 2 people and all the comforts of home. We do plan on using it as a family tent once the bump arrives, and has plenty of space for it.

I've just bought the canopy, which will make the already sizeable tent even more comfortable. I highly recommend it.

First time camping, first tent, lots of space and very airy canopy good in the sunshine and wind and lots of storage.

Carpet gave a bit of luxury side door with mesh good for ventilation, very easy to pitch only 25 mins for our first time.

Not used it in the rain yet but confident it wont leak it is well made great weekend tent.

This was a great tent which was put up the first time in less than 1 hour. We also used the footprint for added safety. There is a lot of room in the living area - we will be buying the canopy to give extra space for our next trip. Only downside is the shape of the front of the tent and the way the door opens (no protection in rain) although the canopy will solve this.

In addition, the front door is only held down by a small toggle , which means it can flap about a bit in the rain/wind.

However, the space in the tent more than makes up from this - would recommend to anyone.

I can only really echo what the other reviewers have already mentioned. We used our Icarus for the first time this weekend, and it was a pleasure to camp in.

For a tent of its size, it's really easy to put up - in a test-run before our trip I managed to get the thing standing on my own in about 20 minutes, and we were impressed with how easy it was to fold back into its bag. The sewn-in groundsheet and pre-attached inner tent were also a godsend - once it was up we could get into the shade.

My only complaint, as others have said, was the size. You'd have to be very 'friendly' to squeeze five into the sleeping compartment, it's a much more realistic four-berth in my view. Still, very luxurious for just the two of us!

This is a great tent, tall enough to stand up in and really spacious. We use the bedroom area as 1 pod with an airbed and all of kit thrown in and it is still possible to walk around the airbed to get dressed etc.

The living area is great, big enough for a large table and 4 chairs without feeling cramped or when the weather is not so good it is big enough to cook inside and sit and play games etc. Overall I am really happy with this tent and my brother was so impressed with it that he has bought one too !

As we had decided to go away for a week camping we needed to upgrade our existing Vango Colorado Tent. We plumped for the Icarus 500 and were not disappointed.

The tent is very well made and has plenty of room for two adults - probably more but we like to have space! There are plenty of storage pockets for bits and bobs, both in the sleeping compartments and in the main living area.

Although it did not rain much during our week, the tent stayed dry - definitely worth having the additional canopy though as this really does extend the living space and give somewhere to shelter from the rain (and midges!)

We are already planning our next week away in this fantastic tent.

Having looked at several tents I decided on the Vango Icarus 500.And I was very pleased with my choice.

I managed to pitch this tent on my own reasonably easily (although an extra pair of hands would help).

It`s got loads of room and was ideal for 2 adults and a child. I`d recommend getting the Sun canopy at the same time for the extra room that provides.

There are loads of built in storage pockets, with one that runs from the top of between the doors of the sleeping bays to the floor.Very useful! There are several points to hang lights and it`s very bright and airy with the windows open.

The cross bracing straps make it very firm and secure.

All in all and excellent family 'weekend' tent. We will happily use it for a week!

As I say a good choice and ideal for the small family camper. We were 2 adults and one child.

A top quality, quick to erect family tent.

I really cannot find fault with this product. Very quick to erect. The SIG + built in bedrooms are perfect when you have a family waiting for the tent to be put up.

Stayed water-tight throughout a very heavy storm.

I can't see us buying anything else.

9 out of 10.

A really good tent! Easy to pitch - first time took 15-20 minutes. Easy to pack away in bag. Ability to stand up in living area a bonus. Fine for sleeping with 2 adults & 2 kids (7 & 13 years) but probably tight for space with 5 people in the bedroom area. Good ventilation & light with windows in living area being fairly large.
