We bought this tent last year as we decided for the forseeable future that our family holidays would be al fresco in France. When we saw the tent we loved the living space (in a sensible shape) that it offered for us and our two young children, vital for the times when they need to play and we need to keep a watchful eye. It's draught free (sewn in groundsheet), cosy and all the big windows let in plenty of light, unlike some tents. We bought the carpet which is particularly welcome late at night and first thing in the morning.

The side by side bedrooms were important to us too (with the option of being able to unzip/zip between the two)as our children are still young. We love this tent and can't wait for this year's three week jolly holiday in France!

Best tent we have ever had, very snug with the SIG, easy and quick to errect. Loads of space and excellent headroom. Enclosed porch is very useful for leaving wet boots and shoes in. Only down side is it needs a bigger bag to pack it into. Also have just got the front extension and carpet. Carpet is soft under foot and really cosy, extension a god send for cooking under in the wet. I too would recommend the foot print ground sheet to keep the SIG clean for packing.

Bought our monty in 2005 and has served us very well in Cornwall, The Lakes and North Wales. Has loads of space for me and my wife and two kids, easy to erect and with the SIG it seems very snug.
Have to say we have owned a few tents and the monty is the best one so far.

The Outwell Montana 6 is a fantastic tent , offering loads of living space and good headroom , whilst it's straight-forward rectangular design is accepted on most campsite pitches , without having to pay extra charges for larger tents .

Being single-skinned with the bedroom pod already attached , pitching is speedy and stress-free .

Our Montana 6 has stood up to some horrendous weather, strong winds and gales ,heavy rainfall , and has had no problems whatsoever .

We would recommend using a 'footprint groundsheet' to pitch the tent on , this will protect the sewn in groundsheet of the tent , whlst also keeping the underside of the sewn in groundsheet clean and dry for when you pack the tent away .

Once when we were setting up on a campsite , unbeknown to us at the time we were being watched by a family in a caravan . They came across later on and asked if they could have a closer look . They said they were amazed at how quickly and easily we were pitched and set up ,and the generous living space the tent provides . With rising fuel costs when towing a caravan , and in their words , ' not having room to swing a cat in the van ' , the Montana 6 , convinced this family to sell their caravan and go back to their tent camping roots . We kid you not .

Bought this tent earlier this year and took it away just after Easter. Compared with our Khyam Galaxy 600 it has loads of space plus much better headroom - I am 6ft tall. It stood up well to a very stormy night while we were away - gales, heavy rain, hail and thunder. An excellent tent. My only complaint is the difficulty we have had in packing it back into its bag after use.

We have owned the Montana for 3 years and taken it down to France twice for a fortnight. We find the tent extremely roomy for the two of us, we can sit inside it in inclement weather without being in each other's way.

The newer ones have a more versatile bedroom layout whereby you can have one large bedroom or have it separated which ours doesn't have but we would have liked.

It has withstood very severe ice storms in the French Alps without moving an inch. Once you get the hang of pitching it in a 'caterpillar' fashion it is very easy and can be done within the hour including pegging out.

It has proved to be very durable, we haven't any broken poles or zips and have never had any leaks. I can't praise this tent highly enough and given a choice between the caravan and the Monty I would choose the Monty every time!
