This was the first time we had been away with this tent, and the weather was truly awful. I'm pleased to confirm that the tent remained dry throughout the constant torrential downpours and flash floods, remaining steadfast during the gales! (not an over exaggeration!).
It was really easy to put up, and being a typical bloke, without reading the instructions first! It took my girlfriend and I about 10 minutes to fully erect. Having the bedrooms sown into the groundsheet helped greatly, considering we were putting the tent up in the rain!
On the second day / night, we encountered humid conditions, but thanks to the accurately placed (and numerous) vents, the tent remained cool without condensation.
In essence, we really put the tent through its paces, and can report that it's;
Fantastically designed
Excellent price
Easily our best tent yet!
I cannot recommend this tent enough.
I know some people have commented about the main door letting in water, I can only go by my own experience, but as long as you make sure the bottom flap is outside and is zipped right down to the bottom, this seems to keep the rain out. (I did like the suggestion of the Velcro pads, I may add these to be on the safe side!)

I have already reviewed this tent, but want to confirm something. Have just returned from yet another great weekend in this tent. Some reviews have commented on the front door of the tent letting in water or gapping at the the bottom. We bought some very strong sticky velcro pads, stuck 3 along the bottom of the door. Perfect solution,no more rain puddles or gapping.

We have just returned from a test weekend with this tent. In 48 hours we had all sorts of weather including a torrential downpour but we stayed dry throughout. The two bedroom comfortably slept 3 adults with airbeds and the living space was more than big enough - massive!.
We didn't have the canopy poles (teach me to read reviews first) so cannot comment on the difficulties but would say they are important as it would give some shelter from the elements. The gap at the bottom of the front door did let in a little rain when it was very heavy but that was solved by using the slab we stand the BBQ on. My only complaint is the need to buy the canopy poles separately and they are proving out of stock in many places (obviously I was not as well read as I should have been).
A real plus was the handy pockets inside - stopped the need to search for important medication when needed and kept everything off the floor where it might have got damp.
As said by others it is easy to pitch and easy to take down and my husband at 6'2 was easily accommodated.
Can't wait for our next trip as we had a great time in spite of the weather and were warm and dry.

Was going yo buy the 400 as it's meant for just me ,OH & dog but went for the 500 as slightly higher in headroom. Bedroom has removable divider that gave us 1 spacious area, could walk around bed etc & dog bed fitted at end . Living area was ample, we had camping kitchen, table & our 2 chairs with plenty of leg room. Had a bit of wind 1st night but we were delta pegged & rained the 2nd night & snug as a bug. Went up really quickly & decamped just as quick, have not had trouble fitting it back in bag - well recommended!

The best tent I have ever owned by a mile! Quick and easy to pitch, Stacks of space inside the living area and the bedroom, totally dry and cosy in heavy rain and high winds and the sewn in groundsheet is priceless. As long as this tent lasts we will not even consider buying anything else.

Just back from a test run with our new Icarus 500. Very pleased indeed. We bought it for weekends away now that we are only two for most of the time. Generous size of the bedrooms and living area a big plus, especially height. Not too heavy when packed but it was a bit of squeeze getting it back in the bag. I don't know 3 other people I want to sleep with so cosily so the 'sleeps 5' will not be tested. Easy to set up and take down. Our best tent so far.

We have just returned from a weekend testing out this tent, boy did the rain come down. Overall a great tent, pitched in 20mins. Plenty of space for 4 and a dog, would be very cosy for 5. The bedroom area can be used as one large area or separated with a roll up divider 2 make 2 bedrooms, both fitting double airbeds. The living space is perfect for chairs cooker on stand and a small table. There are 2 entrances and one of the doors has a mesh doorway great ventilation to. The only small complaint would be the main front door doesn't seem to close up properly along the bottom,so when it did rain a small pool was created.I think you could put some velcro patches on the bottom of the door,to prevent this from happening. All in all a great tent for weekend or short stays. Am looking forward to our next trip in this tent

We put the tent up for the first time and it was up and pegged out in just under 20 min. And everything else unpacked and setup within 45 min. A big improvement over the earlier tents we've owned.
Footprint groundsheet and carpet
We used the footprint groundsheet which was a perfect when packing away when the grass was still wet with dew.
The carpet made everything warm and cosy underfoot when you get in at night and kick off the shoes. The dog highly recommends it for sleeping on.
Sleeping
There is plenty of space for the two of us and the dog but once we put an extra two airbeds in the sleeping pod for the grand children it all became very cosy. You could get the 5 people in as the manufacturers say but only if they are in mummy bags and good friends.
Extension
We also bought the Vango extension. We tried to fit this around the side opening but couldn't get it to fit how we thought it should. It did fit perfectly onto the end of the tent and created a perfect covered play \ storage area. We'll have another play with it in a few weekends.

We previously had the Idaho 400 and wanted something larger. We saw the Icarus and really liked. We used it for the first time last weekend and was very pleased. As there is only two of us we used one bedroom for ourselves and stored our gear in the other which worked well. There was plenty of room in the living area. We got it up in about 30mins but think this will improve as we try again. Came down very easily.

My husband and I are first time campers and purchased this tent on the advice of a salesman in Yeomans. We went on our first camping trip on the spring bank holiday weekend and managed to erect it with no problem at all, even though it was raining. It is a lovely tent and because there is just the two of us we got our queen size Coleman air bed in easily also a cupboard in the living area and various other bits and pieces. The weather got a bit stormy on the Monday night but we stayed dry and comfortable and the tent remained stable, much to my relief. We are looking forward to spending our summer holiday in this lovely tent and would recommend it. PS Can't understand about the canopy problems as we got ours up no problem.
