Love my Cedar Creek. Lots of height and space and plenty of light.
I too had problems with the poles and contacted Millets who suggested that I take it back and they would exchange for another style. Didn't want to exchange as I had trips booked and it was the first tent that I had been happy with. Suggested that after my trips take it in and they would get the poles shortened and a repair done on the SIG (as this got a tear due to tension). Talk about good service!
I paid £124.99 as it was on special offer and its been the best buy so far!

We had a few minor issues with putting the tent up first two times. Firstly forget the centre spine pole! Interesting to read about the poles being too long - I though this until we discovered the adjusters on the front and back tabs where the poles locate. When we adjusted these to be too long the poles fitted easily, we just tighten them again after locating the poles. This is probably the best tent we have owned and we've had a few, we've had bad weather and this tent laughs it off. We also bought the Coleman general purpose awning which is also brilliant. Altogether great, when recently visiting a local tent shop a guy was looking at various tents and overheard us whilst we were looking at their Cedar Creek - he asked us a question or two and bought it even though it cost more than the others he was looking at.

We've owned our Cedar Creek since the beginning of last year when we decided to have a go at camping. As it was our first time we didn't want to spend loads on a tent and we read reviews on this website that said you could pick them up for about £125 at Milletts so we rushed out and bought one.
The first time I put it up in the garden it took me an hour and a half on my own but I can now do it in about 40 minutes with assistance from the OH when getting the thing up. The internal pole is not that difficult to put up as we've always used the same system as Julie12c - build the pole on the floor, insert the ends in the holes and simply lift it up. The only problem we've had with the internal poles is when I forgot to take it out when putting the tent down in a rain storm last year . But that may have been my fault!
The tent is certainly not a five person tent though. There's normally two adults and and one or two children on our trips (we sometimes borrow the second child for a few days!) and you certianly couldn't fit anymore in. Loads of room inside to stand up and walk around which has been good for us as it's rained everytime we've been so far and the flexibility of being able to open the tent at different sides is great to avoid the wind.
After three days camping we sometimes find small pools of water in the tent but these are only small and can be easily wiped up with kitchen towel so definitely no major leaks experienced and we recently went camping in some horrible wind and rain without any leaks or damage. Everything was very secure.
We've found it really easy to get the tent back in the bag as there's ample room for it and the poles. No problems there at all.
Overall we're very pleased with our tent and would recommend it. It loses a couple of points for not really being a five man tent and the fact that the elastic snapped in our centre pole (as has been reported in an earlier review) but that's not a major issue as it still fits together without it. Apart from that' it's great.

Having bought this tent at the beginning of this season we struggled with the interior centre pole (the one that you velcro in place). The best method we have found is to construct the poles on the floor, (we use the living area). Ensuring the spikes are in the eyelets on the groundsheet 2 people slowly 'walk' the pole upwards until it reaches it's final location. This method has stopped numerous arguments, threats of divorce & yells of watch the canvas!
We too have found slight leaks on the bottom of side door seams but are hoping that some seal sealant with resolve this issue - too many trips booked to risk returning tent to manufaturer.
Overall we are really pleased with this tent. The flexibility of choosing which door you use & have as a porch is a bonus.

Me and my husband have been away in this tent 3 times and have never had a problem in erecting it. We have never cut any of the poles and found it perfectly spacious for the 2 of us and our son who is 6 ft 1. It was also very sturdy as we have had some really bad weather while away and saw no signs of leaking. We paid only £145 on this tent in Snowdonia Adventurer in Caernarfon. Of all the tents we have bought this is one of our best buys.

I agree with the comments on the internal roof pole - what were they thinking? far too long. I bought this tent as some friends of mine got it and put it up very easily with 1 adult and 1 teenager without instructions. Well we tried with the instructions but as they are not complete we struggled a bit but since then have put it up a few times and it is sooooo easy. There are only 2 of us so a double airbed fits nicely into the larger pod with room to spare at each side ( no where near enough room to fit another single air bed in though so not quite a 3 person pod ) the other pod is used for storage. Living area is a nice size and I also agree about the transparency of the fabric - couldn't believe how much you could see walking back to the tent at night. Tent folded back down easily back into its bag but easier to split as it is a bit heavy all in one. We did have a problem with leaks when it rained at the seams to the side doors and the front windows so it is going back to get sorted and I just want to get it back as soon as possible to get on our next trip. It ticks all of our boxes ( apart from the leaks ) not too many guy's to peg out either - all in all a nice tent. Would love to see a front canopy for it too. I paid £150 for it in January but the price has gone up now and also has gone out of stock.

Just used our Cedar Creek for the first time and found pitching okay, especially after reading the advice on this site. We did take 4 inches off the interior roof pole otherwise it wouldn't have fitted at all. I agree that 5 adults would not cope in this tent, 2 adults and 2 kids maximum.
We were very pleased with the height throughout, the size of the living area, and the fact that the the tent is sealed. It meant the pesky ducks were not able to get in to steal our bread which happened to our neighbours!
If you are looking for a largish tent, that isn't a pod type, I'd be happy to recommend this one.

Bought this tent on impulse from Millet's tent show in 2006. Couldn't find it anywhere on the internet until 2007, when it was said to be 'new for 2007!' Instructions were ok, except that one stage was missing! The poles are a tight fit, but manageable. The largest bedroom pod is only large enough for a double airbed with less than 1 foot to spare one way. Haven't used the slighly smaller pod for anything other than storage. A couple of the velcro pole tabs were stitched the same way, rendering useless, but as it didn't affect stability, it was not worth returning the tent for. I like the SIG, being able to stand upright in any part of the tent, the large living area and the 3 way doors which adapt to the wind direction. I dislike the transparency of the living area at night when lights are on. (sleeping pods are ok, thank goodness!). This tent has stood like a rock in wind and rain, dries off easily and has lots of space for two people, but 5 berth is optimistic. We also keep the poles and tent seperate, as the combined weight is not very manageable - also, tents rarely fold back into the bag as if they has just left the manufacturers!

Not used my Cedar Creek in anger yet, just practiced the upping and downing. Was really surprised how easy this was and no need to follow instructions just rely on the colour coding.

Just got back from our first ever 3 nights camping and the CEDAR CREEK was really good. I did cut 3 inches off the roof poles (green and yellow) and it eased some of the tension, but its still tight. I might cut some more! The tent its self is really easy to live in, 2 adults and 2 little boys fitted in easy and all or stuff.
The best way to put it up seems to be put the front up first as the back ground fasteners are adjustable and you can ease the tension for the side poles.
