What a wonderful tent, used it for the first time over the spring bank holiday. Very sturdy and simple to put up and just as easy to come down. Very roomy, we had a large living area even though we had both ends as bedrooms for the family. Can't wait to use it again.

Just got the 2009 model which is now badged as being part of the 'Beyond' range from Gelert. Christened it with the best and worse the Ullswater climate could throw at us; wind, sun and rain. Tent stood up to it all. We wanted a change from our trusty Eagle 6 (see separate review)and a bit more room. Its a different style of tent so I won't compare here, but the reason for the change is we were wanting to sacrifice a little living space in order to gain more bedroom space. Bedroom combinations are good, though similar tents (Vango Tigris I believe) have a removable bedroom option. Thats a minor niggle to us though as we are happy to have one big room for the Mrs and I and two adequate rooms for the sprogs (7 and 10)who will hopefully be with us for a few years to come. Living space is still adequate. We suffered no leaks and the tent stood up to some heavy winds - It was pitched on very soft ground too with only basic pegs. We purchased a separate canopy which gives us the outdoor sitting / cooking area. This increases the pitch size, but we were still OK. Meshed doors and windows give good ventilation and the footprint we purchased came in very handy. There are a couple of minor niggles; no spare poles (I was nervous with the amount of 'bend' required) and the guy ropes are far from luminous. Plus points are little touches like storage compartments near the bedrooms, pockets inside the bedrooms and Electric cable entry points at BOTH sides (saves trailing the hook-up all round as we have previously done.

Still got to get fully used to it but it was really good for the four day trip we just did. Got another week booked at end of May so I may adjust mark accordingly - it more than sufficed but I didn't get the same 'wow' buzz I got from the first trips with the Eagle 6.

Overall - I would recommend this tent.

Have just come back from 4 nights in Woolacombe and was only the 2nd time to have used the tent. All I can say is this tent is excellent. We had very heavy rain and 35mph winds in very open, coastal ground and the tent survived no problem at all. The people in the tent 2 tents up had their tent ripped open by the wind while ours stood. Loads of room inside. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children and you can have it as 2,3 or 4 bedrooms with quite a large living area. Easy to put up even for camping novices like us! You also have lots of pockets to store stuff. We got it online for just over £200 and it is well worth the money.

Fantastic, Very easy to put up, and take down. Actually managed to get it back into the large bag it come in first time. Loads of room inside, Will easily fit 8 people, unlike a lot of tents which say they are six man etc and you would only get 4. Organiser pockets attached to bedroom inserts are very useful, all in all an excellent buy. Yes it is very heavy when in bag, but does come with wheels on bag, so easy to move to car, pitch etc. Would definitely recommend to anyone with large family.
